Chapter Seven
"Shit, you're gonna make me cry."
Yoongi rolled his eyes, though he smiled at Jungkook. He then looked over at Seokjin, who was smiling approvingly.
"It sounds like it went – "
"Perfect," Yoongi said. "As perfect as a situation like that can go."
"Jeez, what a guy," Namjoon added. "He sounds damn near perfect, too."
Yoongi nodded. "I think he might just be."
Jungkook suddenly jumped up and pulled Yoongi into a hug. "I'm so happy for you, Hyung!" Yoongi wriggled out of his grasp, though he grinned.
"Thanks, Kook."
"So, you're going out again, right?" Seokjin asked.
"No, actually," Yoongi said and all three gaped at him. Yoongi chuckled. "We're staying in next time. He's going to make me dinner and we're watching a movie."
Jungkook gasped. "That's so sweet!"
Yoongi looked a bit embarrassed, though he nodded in agreement. "It was my idea to stay in, but it was his idea to make dinner for me."
Namjoon grinned at him. "I'm tellin' ya...what a guy."
Yoongi smiled. "Yeah, I know."

Two days later, Yoongi visited a florist and bought two bouquets. He then boarded a bus that would take him a few miles out of town.
When he'd reached his destination, he looked up at the wrought iron gate and sighed. It never got easier to visit here.
He slipped inside and headed through the rows of graves until he reached the one he was looking for. He knelt down on his knees and brushed some leaves off the top of the headstone. He then laid one of the bouquets in front of it. Lilies. Her favorite.
"Hey, Jagiya."
He took a deep breath. "I need to talk to you about something. I hope you won't be mad."
"I met someone." Yoongi paused, as though waiting for a response. "He-He's a really great person. I think you'd like him. Jin and Kook do."
"He's really understanding about you," he said. "Of course I told him about you," he continued, as if there actually had been a response. "How could I not?"
He paused again. "He's very patient with me. We've been on a lot of dates now, but we're taking it slow, for me. And he...well, he gets it. I guess that's the best way I know how to explain it. You understand, right?"
He sucked in another deep breath. "But..."
Tears filled Yoongi's eyes, but he pressed on. He knew what he wanted to say, even if it was hard. "I think I'm ready to take the next step," he whispered. "Would that be okay with you?"
Yoongi turned his face to the sky and closed his eyes, trying to stop the tears from falling. "I'm so sorry, Jagiya. I'm not replacing you. I could never."
He looked back at the grave. "I didn't go looking for him...Hoseok. His name is Hoseok. I wouldn't even consider it had I not met him purely by coincidence."
"And Jin and Kook say it's time to move on. That this is what you would want. And who would know better than them, I guess, right?"
Yoongi stopped, feeling as though he were rambling. When he eventually continued, the tears began to fall.
"He makes me happy, Jagiya," he whispered. "And I haven't felt happy since you."
The moment he finished his sentence, a small cloud moved, and Yoongi felt the warmth of the sun on his skin. He gasped and let out a loud sob. He doubled over, pressing his forehead against the grass as he wept.
After several long moments, he sat up again and gingerly touched her name on the headstone. "Thank you, Jagiya," he whispered. "I love you."

Hoseok was just finishing up making dinner when a knock sounded on his front door. He quickly answered it, and raised his eyebrows at the small bundle Yoongi was holding.
Yoongi's cheeks reddened slightly as he held out the bouquet. "Flowers," he said.
Hoseok took it and began to laugh appreciatively as he examined it.
It was a neat arrangement of packets of different flower seeds wrapped in cellophane.
"Because you like gardening," Yoongi explained.
Hoseok grinned. "This is amazing, Yoongi. Thank you."
"Too cheesy?"
Hoseok shook his head. "Just cheesy enough."
Yoongi smiled, showcasing a bit of his gums, and Hoseok's heart skipped a beat. This was his favorite smile of Yoongi's, and whenever he was the reason for it, he melted.
Hoseok stepped aside, allowing Yoongi to enter his apartment. After he had, Hoseok held up a finger. "Wait here."
Yoongi stood, somewhat awkwardly, waiting for Hoseok to come back from the kitchen. When he did, he was holding a vase with the seed bouquet in it. He set it on the table between the two bowls he'd laid out. Now it was Yoongi's turn to laugh.
"Perfect," Hoseok said, grinning at Yoongi.
"Now sit, sit," Hoseok insisted, pulling a chair out for Yoongi. Yoongi blushed as he sat down and Hoseok pushed the chair back in toward the table. He then disappeared into the kitchen again, and reappeared a few moments later with a large bowl of ramyeon.
Yoongi raised an eyebrow and looked at Hoseok.
"We had your favorite on our first date," Hoseok said. "Figured it was time for mine."
Yoongi chuckled until Hoseok continued. "Really, I'm just a bad cook." And Yoongi burst into laughter.
"Then why did you volunteer to make me dinner?"
"Romance," Hoseok said as he lit a candle sitting next to the vase. Yoongi laughed again. Hoseok beamed at him, grateful he was enjoying himself.
After dinner, they were watching a movie, cuddled on the couch together. Yoongi was pressed against Hoseok's side, his head slightly on his chest, and the younger had his arm around him, running his hand up and down Yoongi's.
"I visited Jia today," Yoongi suddenly said. Hoseok's hand stopped moving.
"Oh yeah?"
Yoongi nodded, eyes still trained on the TV, though no longer paying attention to what was on it. "I told her about you."
Hoseok slowly began rubbing Yoongi's arm again. "I'm honored," he said quietly.
Yoongi smiled slightly. "I told her I think I'm ready to move on." Yoongi shifted so he could look up into Hoseok's eyes. "With you."
Hoseok smiled. "Yeah?"
Yoongi nodded again. "And I'm pretty sure she gave me her blessing."
Hoseok didn't ask what Yoongi meant by that, but simply accepted it as he stared at Yoongi.
"So..."
"So," Yoongi continued. "You wanna be my boyfriend?"
Hoseok's eyes widened, then a smile spread across his face. "God, yes."
Yoongi grinned back at him for a moment before his face became serious. He shifted again, pushing himself up and closer to Hoseok's face until their noses were almost touching.
"Yoongi," Hoseok breathed. "Can I – "
But Yoongi pressed his lips against Hoseok's before he could finish. Hoseok's eyes widened for a moment before he melted into the kiss, closing them and becoming captivated by the feel of Yoongi's soft lips against his own. They broke apart after a moment and Yoongi pressed his forehead against Hoseok's as they both reveled in their first kiss. They sat there for a few moments longer, before Yoongi looked up and connected their lips again.
Hoseok shifted and ran his fingers into Yoongi's hair as he deepened the kiss. Yoongi moaned in approval, and Hoseok smiled against his lips. He gently pushed Yoongi down onto the couch cushions, never disconnecting their lips while doing so, and hovered over him. He ran his hand down Yoongi's side, letting it settle on his waist. After a moment, his hand slowly slid under Yoongi's shirt, feeling his soft skin, and Yoongi suddenly froze.
Hoseok immediately stopped, pulling his hand out and breaking their kiss.
"I-I'm sorry," Yoongi whispered. "I'm just not..."
"Ready for that much?"
He nodded, and Hoseok smiled as he pulled back. He helped Yoongi sit up again. He then cupped Yoongi's cheek and ran his thumb across his cheekbone.
"It's okay."
"I'm – "
"No, I'm sorry. I got carried away. I only want to do what you're comfortable with."
Yoongi smiled a small smile. "Thank you."
Hoseok nodded, and they both sat there, staring into each other's eyes. Hoseok's hand was still on Yoongi's cheek, and Yoongi nuzzled his face into it.
"I really like you, Hoba."
Hoseok cocked an eyebrow. "Hoba?"
Yoongi smiled. "A little different from Hobi. And only mine for you."
Hoseok grinned. "I really like you, too, Yoon."
Yoongi chuckled. "Nice."
They continued to stare at each other for a few moments, grinning like idiots. They then settled back into their previous cuddling position, turning their attention back to the TV.
And Yoongi felt at peace.
