Chapter 13: Love letter?
Mr. Matthews, the English teacher was explaining the theme of the supplementary story as he drew the rough character sketch of the story on the board. Sanskaar as usual was listening to the class keenly taking notes while Swara was playing with her pen in the name of taking notes.
She had already read the story when she was out of no books and that was when Aditi who was sitting a bench forward her placed a letter on the table making Swara confused.
Aditi making sure she was not getting caught by Mr. Matthews leaned backwards a little. Swara understanding she wanted to say something, she leaned on the table.
"Pass it to Sanskaar." With that Aditi quickly sat normally as she saw
Mr. Dracula Matthews turning towards the students from the board.
A letter to Sanskaar? Swara looked at the letter but then she shrugged her shoulders and was waiting for the right chance to forward it to him.
When she saw the teachers turning to the blackboard Swara forwarded the letter to him and turned but at her surprise he was also holding a letter which he was told to pass to Swara.
Both blinked their eyes in surprise but then got their respective letters before they get caught by the teacher.
Sanskaar looked up at the teacher and then opened the letter but then he stopped further when he saw the first line 'Dear Sanskaar,'
Well, another love letter from someone.
He sighed and dumped it into his desk before he got his attention back to the lesson.
Swara opened the letter and her eyes widened seeing the contents of the letter. Arrowed hearts and childish cupid's drawn on the corners with a written note in the middle.
Love letter?
Making sure she was not going to get caught by Mr. Dracula she started reading the contents of the letter.
Dearest,
With love in my heart, I pick golden pen from the basket of love to write you this letter. Hope this letter meets you with good health.
I just want to say how my heart beat gbam gbam when pass by me. I want to say to you to be my girlfriend, please accept it.
Only yours!
By the end of the letter Swara had the urge of laughing out loud like there's no tomorrow. Of course she understood the person's feelings but then rather than impressing it only made her to laugh. She quickly closed her mouth with her hand while her face had already turned red for controlling her laugh for a long time.
"Since the assignments are pending I have decided to divide the class in groups of three. As I call out the names three of you will stand." Mr. Matthews announced placing his spectacles properly.
Swara did hear the announcement but chose to ignore it because he always pair Aditi and her, always from ever since. But then hearing her name from the Dracula she stood
"Swara, Sanskaar and Laksh." Swara's eyes widened so did Aditi's.
Even though they both put on silly fights but still they loved each other's company. Seems her fate has a different story for her. Sighing internally she sat down, atleast she had Sanskaar and Laksh. Aditi frowned since she couldn't be with Swara.
Sanskaar had a very neutral expression as if he was okay with anything he got while Laksh, for the first time thanked Mr.Dracula for doing this.
Laksh was actually quite disappointed when he saw Swara and Sanskaar dancing on the stage. He knew it was just for the play but then still he couldn't help his heart getting broken seeing her dance so happily with someone else other than him. She asked him to stay away and he did, he controlled his mind when he realized he liked her but then who has the power to control their own heart?
"So the assignments is, Shakespeare has many novels, which has been adapted into different movies, plays and shows. I want you all to pick up a novel and an adaptation from the novel in any form and submit a 2000 word critical essay, analysing the concepts and similarities. Yes, with a presentation on your further informatioms too. You can start your work after the play and submit it on this month's end." The teacher announced.
All most all the students were groaning under their breathes but then had put on a good face in front of the teacher. Mr. Matthews had capabilities to throw out who lacks discipline and no way anyone wanted to face his wrath.
When Mr. Matthews walked out of the class all groaned. Of course no one wants to work and not everyone had got good partners.
"Swara, Mr. Dracula is becoming more evil. He separated both of us. I think I should give him another name." Aditi pouted and Swara chuckled at her last sentence.
~
"I just don't understand you both. You fight like wild cats when you are together but when seperated you guys whin for not being with each other." Jay shook his head in disbelief seeing Aditi having a grumpy face and cursing Mr. Matthews while Swara only complained.
"They share a love-hate relationship and let's not interfere and get into trouble." Sanskaar adviced Jay. It was better not to interfere because he knew doing that would make the sane minds of boys insane.
"Jay get those ideas from your friend and stay quite. I'm already annoyed." Aditi huffed.
"Aww baby, Calm down." Jay pulled her towards him and wrapped his arms around her. Aditi was baffled for a moment but then her cheeks had turned all red.
"I think Sanskaar and I should better move forward so that we don't need to witness the PDA of you both, bye both of you and have fun." With a wink to the couple Swara held Sanskaar's wrist and walked out of the school since it was over.
"So as planned we are going for shopping to get our costumes, right?" Sanskaar looked at Swara as they both stood in the bus stop waiting for the bus.
"Yes right." Swara smiled, "Sanskaar do you remember this place?" She asked with a wide smile spreading on her lips.
"Of course I do." He replied with a warm smile remembering how they both fought for a silly issue but then ended up together by saving Jay's uncle's both wife and child.
"We both were so silly that day fighting for not walking with sane minds." She chuckled and so did Sanskaar.
"You've gone by bus before?" Sanskaar asked since he was not sure if she could be comfortable traveling by bus.
"Ah.. not much. It's quite rare but then yes I like traveling by bus." She admitted. Cars has bored her to the level that she found interest in other vehicles.
As soon as the bus came both got into it and he was so thankful that the bus was not crowded as it usually be.
"Sanskaar let's sit there." Swara pointed at the last two seats in the corner which was empty. He nodded and both took their places.
Swara sat by the window and Sanskaar next to her. Since it was school ending hours there were mostly students seated with girls laying their eyes on Sanskaar while boys were dumbstruck and were head over heels seeing Swara.
"Looks like boys are already flat by you." Sanskaar leaned a little towards her and whispered with his gaze on the boys who were already looking at them.
"Girl's burning gazes just because I am sitting beside their crush or love are no less here Sanskaar." Swara teased back controlling her grin, "But how do you manage to not pick up any one among these girls? As far as I know my friend is the best flirt."
"Swara!" Sanskaar glared while Swara muffled some giggles softly.
The bus stopped at the stop letting passengers get in. Seeing one of them Sanskaar closed his eyes in annoyance. He was totally fed up of making things clear to him.
"Hey Sanskaar. Nice to meet you again." The man sat beside Sanskaar who was cursing his fate for having an empty seat beside him.
Swara looked at the man and then at Sanskaar. Her friend seems not to be pleasent meeting him, his face says it all.
"And I am not very glad as you are sir." Sanskaar threw a glare at his side with his lips pressed in thin line.
"Is it no even today?" The man asked sighing dejected.
"It's always going to be no sir. So please don't disturb me, I already have plans for future." Sanskaar gritted his teeth controlling any bitter words coming out from him.
"You will, one day." The man told him with determination.
"Not again! Your stop has come sir and you have to leave." He quickly turned away as the man stood up.
"Any day if you are going to change your mind you know where I will be right?" The man while Sanskaar chose to be silent. Nodding in disbelief the man got down from the bus since it was his stop.
Seeing him getting out Sanskaar sighed in relief and the whole fa was witnessed by Swara who was totally confused with their conversation.
"Sanskaar who was he?" She asked since curiosity was killing her.
"He is coming from an acting agency and wants me give a chance to it even though I refused his offer." Sanskaar explained.
"Oh.. you have any other future plans?" Swara asked further.
"Mm, Prosecutor." Sanskaar replied with a smile. It was his only ambition and dream which he was working very hard to make it happen.
"That's great. Now I think I have someone to hide my crime." She winked as she joked.
"I'll be the first to lock you up in jail princess." Sanskaar replied.
As their stop came both got down from the bus and started walking in the market street to buy their costumes. With commenting on dresses that was displayed on the stores both had a great time laughing out to the fullest. They got ice-creams for themselves and continued their search.
As they walked by talking Sanskaar halted when he saw a beautiful bright red net gown designed with floral thin silver linings and embroidery on them. It had off shoulder sleeves with a V neck line arranged with red stones and silver linings and had attached net dupatta attached on either sides of the selves. It had a rich royal look with every inch of perfection and he couldn't help himself but imagine of how Swara would look. Just imaging of it made him speechless and breathtaking and he wondered what he would do when she wears it in real.
Swara was had been talking and busy eating ice-cream stopped when she saw Sanskaar not being her side. She turned around and saw him staring at something. So she quickly jogged to see him stare at the beautiful red gown.
"This looks so pretty. Should I get this for the play?" She asked with her eyes still caught on the gown. It was quite simple but had the rich look but then she wasn't sure if the savings amount she had was enough.
"Yes... I... I'm mean no. Let's go." He stuttered and quickly walked forward confusing the girl but then she walked behind him and not before glancing at the dress one more time and the shop name, M-Fashion.
After that both somehow managed to get Sanskaar the costume needed for the play while Swara who didn't like any of them decided to wear the one she had in her house. Her aunt SG had already flooded her closets with so many gowns that she groaned since her closet was already full and she had to extend it but now she felt it was worth it.
Sanskaar had took a holiday to work as tomorrow was the competition and had to rehearse their scripts and dance. Changing into casuals both first started to rehearse with the dialogues and took a short break. Swara who had lost her last page of the script started searching for it in her bag and she got it but along with the love letter she got in the English class earlier today.
"You got your script?" Sanskaar asked since she was literally pulling her hair out of her head for loosing it a while before.
"Yes and I also got something too." She sat opposite to him with a giggle when she saw the letter.
"What happened?" Sanskaar asked not getting any idea why she was giggling.
"Sanskaar actually the letter you passed today was this." She handed over the letter to him. Confused, Sanskaar read the letter and his eyes widened.
"This is Rohan's handwriting." He informed.
Rohan was another member in football team and of course Sanskaar knew his handwriting since they both had been in the same class for the three continuous years.
"Rohan? I have no idea he could write me a love letter." She blinked her eyes in amusement. As far as she knew Rohan was actually a nice friend since she hardly talked with him but never knew he was childish and she somehow find the letter to be cute.
"Hey, even I passed you a letter. Who's was it?" Swara asked.
"I don't know. When I opened the letter the 'Dear' written told me all it was a love letter so I didn't open it further." Sanskaar said normally since it was not a new thing to him.
"That's mean. You should atleast open it." Swara snapped.
"You read the letter then what? You are speaking as if you are going to respond to it." He narrowed his eyes at her.
"Of course I will. Even if it is going to be a no still I would convey." She shrugged her shoulders.
"Anyways you are going to reject him and that's the main point here." He stated the point.
"But letting them know about it is equally important Sanskaar. They need to know that whatever they wish for is not going to happen when it is far apart from reality." Who could knew it better than her about this? She witnessed Laksh getting hurt in every step he took inspite of knowing it could hurt him. The very least she wanted was him to get hurt after all of all other things he was her friend.
"I agree with you but then if I go rejecting them all then I won't be able to be in the class for the whole day Swara. I get bunch and bunches of letters." Sanskaar shrugged his shoulders. Even if he was going to spend his whole life he wasn't much sure if you answer all of them.
"Bunches? What do with all of them then?" She asked.
"I don't read them but yeah my grandmother does and have good time with that." He said remembering how his grandma would read every letter and comment on them laughing and teasing him.
"I'm sure it could be." Swara admitted.
"Let's continue our dance rehearsals or else we are going to get late." He stood up and forwarded his hand to her. Grabbing his hand she quickly got up and turned on the music.
With that both started their rehearsals with smiles on their lips, jitters in their hearts and sparkles in their souls both danced gracefully with their eyes locked trying to figure out each other's soul.
But just Just in a second, it all went dark.
"Aish! This electricity problem." Sanskaar ran his hands into his hair in frustration as it intruded their almost done dance practice and here the electricity wanted to spoil and make them dance again.
But hearing one thing made his heart froze.
Swara's scream.
☆Speak aloud with kindness in your voice, love in your words and firm thoughts with your sentence when you know you are right ☆
Damn Cliffhanger!
I know, I know but wanted some suspense😁
So why Swara would have screamed?
