yeehaw, have the story for this gal

eight year old renee died while sorta play-fighting a kid from school- she got shoved into the road, and was ran over. the injuries from her death were reversed, as is usual in the afterlife, but the injuries from the fight (as not listed as a cause of death) were not, hence the bruises and such.  she was given the choice to either haunt the living world or go to someotherplace (one word. that's the afterlife in this universe). she chose haunting, wanting to find out why her parents didn't seem to care about her much anymore— unfortunately, her parents had been planning to move shortly before her death and saw no reason to change these plans, so they left quickly, and ghosts have to stay in their selected location. so, she was left to stay in this house alone (as the rumors that this house was haunted kept many people away from buying the house) for 500 years, as that is how long haunting last if the ghost can't settle the grievance they were haunting for (and since her parents left the place she's locked to, she never can). she slowly grows old, slowly decaying into a creepier, only vaguely humanoid version of herself later on, as that is what typically happens to ghosts who have to haunt for the whole time. however, before that, she does (almost) live a life, as ghosts do age and grow during hauntings, although slower. key word almost, because she doesn't belong in that universe and can't truly live there happily, plus she can't leave the house that is empty most of the time, as even when people do move in, they move away very quickly. the longest family, the one that included renee's favorite person she ever met throughout her haunting, only lasted about 4 years.
