Chapter Nine: Some Quick Fixes

The next day after school, all of the team meets up at the shop. Grace wants to explain to everyone how she wants us to try to find a chart of enchantments somewhere in the shop, because she's sure that there should be one somewhere. Angelina doesn't seem to be the type to not write all of her things down to remember. She always seemed so calm and well organized because of her sense of calmness that she radiates into her surroundings.
When we get to the store, Grace is already there. I'm not sure how she manages to get to the store this fast after school, which makes me wonder if there's some sort of speed potion that's available for her. I wonder if I'm able to convince Grace to give me some, if it even exists; it would come in handy for when I'm in a rush.
Grace tells us, "Alright everyone. The goal today is to find some sort of chart of the impacts of each spell or enchantment that exists. There are many bookshelves with binders in the back room, and each thick binder corresponds to the enchantments discovered that specific year."
Rory asks, "Do we know what year Leo and Amanda's curse was discovered in then?"
Grace sadly shakes her head. "I already looked into the year that Angelina supposedly cursed the ancestors of Leo and Amanda, and the information we need isn't found that year. So that means the curse must've been used even before that year."
"What's the year that Angelina used the curse again?" Connor asks.
Grace tells us the year. (A/N: I really don't know what year this would be; I honestly don't feel like doing the math, if it's not actually found in the books. If any of you knows what year this was, let me know in the comments section, and I'll make sure to commend you for your dedication to helping me :D)
We enter the back room and we're instantly greeted by the grand shelves filled with old looking binders, all labeled with a different year. Some of them are easily distinguishable as newer than others, because they have less stray papers practically falling out of the binders clips.
We immediately get to work. We fall silent as we sift through the binders. Thankfully, Grace knew what the year my great, great, great grandparents got cursed because that automatically gets rid of the possibility that the chart is found in the years after. We would've been searching for days if she didn't know that fact. Still, we are searching through piles of papers for another couple of hours, until our eyes are not focusing anymore and our minds are getting to be delirious.
I let go of the binder I'm looking through to massage my temples, which are hurting my head. I turn around in my chair and pick up my crutches, which are leaning against the wall behind me. I make my way over to the coat rack where I put my school bag on the floor and I take out my phone. I check to see if I got any messages, and I only get one. It's from my mother. She tells me that I have to be home for a late supper at 7:45 tonight. I look at the time. It's 5:25. We still have a couple of hours before I have to leave, though I'm seriously considering that I should leave soon; my head is hurting after staring down at words all day.
Tara tells us, "Okay, that's it. I've had enough of this silence." She pulls out her own phone and blasts some music from the radio online. There's a lot of static being received from the high volume, but music definitely livens up the gloomy room.
After another five minutes of searching more lazily, I come across a peculiar piece of paper from a binder marked from nearly 15 decades ago. I speak up, "Hey, guys! Come here. I think I found something!"
A/N: hey everyone! So sorry that I haven't been updating as often! Thanks so much though for your comments on the last chapter asking me to update soon! Your comments really keep me on my feet to write!
Please be sure to check out writerfromheart and her works. She's a friend who's new to Wattpad and we should all give her some welcoming support! I'm also collabing with her by writing a fanfiction that you may have noticed show up in my works: Étienne and the Power of Love, which is a fanfic based on Stephanie Perkins's books. If you haven't checked that out yet, you should go right now, because seriously, I've never had more fun writing these hilarious chapters with Vanessa. She's a great writer and working together with her in this project is seriously an awesome experience.
Go check out Étienne, and until next time, remember to vote, comment and keep on writing!
