Mistake: First impressions

Often readers fall into the trap of creating a busy book cover. Think about it, most users are reading Wattpad on their mobile, therefore it is a small screen and an intricate book cover, although beautiful is most likely not the best and most effective use. Likewise, a blurb is your first impression, it gives your audience a taste of what the book has to offer. This blurb should not exceed 100 words.

How to correct this?

As much as I hate to admit it, most people will prematurely judge a book by its cover. Myself included. It is a fact that an appealing, easily read book cover will attract a readers eyes and therefore they are more inclined to click on your book. I strongly suggest a large title and simple cover. Likewise, have a short catchy blurb for your stories. The key points here, short and catchy. Nobody wants to read a 500 word description. Therefore, it is best to keep blurbs to a maximum of two sentences.
