I know Timeline is a series of writings written in or about 2014-2016 but I recently found this piece I had written when I was much younger and I couldn't stop smiling. I thought I'd share it with you.

When I bake a burnt cake

my heart will fall and break.

I cry and sigh but will not die.

My heart is full of shame

as much as I can claim.

I will not give up until I succeed

And the next time I bake a cake

crying will be of no need.
