XLVIII.

•───────•°•❀•°•───────•

It's been a few days since I was kidnapped. It was a complete 180. Unlike the LOV, there was no TV here to watch the news.

I met chisaki on a few occasions but I never spoke to him. First he heavily 'detoxed' me the first few days I was here. It was weird.

He took my quirk when I first got here. I slowly gained it back but my body felt a lot lighter. A lot of strain was taken off my body.

Overhaul told me that it was like I was my relearning my quirk....he said it was much more manageable for both him and myself.

"I won't ever bring you out of this room. Don't get any ideas." I jumped. His assistant and Nemoto were bandaging up my arm. They just finished taking out five pints of blood. Chisaki flipped a tiny tube that held my vitals. "Try and be funny and I'll have Eri here turn you back into a four year old."

I shivered as he squinted at me. "Y...Yes, Sir."

"Good, I'm glad we're making progress. Soon I'll be able to take the chains off you and you'll be able to walk yourself."

They left, quickly in fact. Probably excited to play with extracting my body.

Not good at all...please UA rescue me already.

"Are we..related?" Eri asked as soon as it died down. She quickly jumped off her bed onto my own.

She's grown quite comfortable around me. Quickly latching onto me, at times she refused to leave the 'bedroom' without me.

She hasn't yet made physical contact with me other than brushing past my arms to stable herself.

"Do you want to be?" I asked.

"....Yes! We're like a big happy family!" She grinned proudly. "Y-You've been here for a long while and that means that we're family....thats how it works r-right?"

"Not exactly, but we can make our own family." I shook my chains.

I was tired. No scratch that I'm very tired.

I need a plan to escape, but how?

Time slowed down very quickly. I was starting to feel myself loose it. Being trapped here was agonizing. The only things keeping me sane was Eri.

While I was dying, she was just excited to have someone to talk to.

However I made some progress with Chisaki. First he unchained me, getting my feet to work was a miracle in itself.

Soon i was able to be moved from room to rooms. Along with Eri, we had our usual checkups every other day. We did everything together. We slept in the same room, played the same games and ate the same meals...well I didnt eat much.

I was too overwhelmed with everything going on.

I was threatened by chisaki. He constantly tried to pray information out of me. Everyday was an interrogation.

'How much do you know?'

'Nobody will come for you.'

'What's your plan?'

"Tell me now.

'I know much about your quirk. Tell me what you know or I'll leave you limbless.'

"They've forgotten you once, who says the won't forget you again?"

"...That's not true..." I responded to that one. I don't know why but that one irked me badly. They both stopped and looked me in the eyes. I avoided their gaze and looked toward the tiled floors.

"Excuse me?" I stayed silent. "Answer me!"

"UA may be filled with a bunch of idiots but...they care about me."

"You're a fool, Y/N. You fight for the wrong side. They won't come for you, and what if they do? It probably won't even be for you but Eri. Do you think they'll really want to save someone like you?"

How badly I wanted punch this guy in the face.

"Sir..." Sakaki called. He was another guy who worked with Overhaul. Eri was standing in the hallway waiting for me eagerly.

"They only want you for your quirk."

And with that, I followed the two of them out of the dark room. Eri jumped into my arms and we slowly walked back to our rooms.

It's touching that now she only wanted to be carried by me, maybe I give her a little bit of hope? I stroked her hair as we were positioned in the middle of Chisaki and his heanchman.

"I have a meeting to attend to. Stay here and watch them. Closely." Chisaki told his henchman. Wait—a meeting?! He must be meeting with the LOV for the profection of Eri's quirk....which means....i failed.

Mirio, I'm sorry... I couldn't stop him, your quirk I'm so sorry.

I hung my head in shame. I sat on the bed and just sighed. I was still holding Eri and this time she was pattin my head. I hung my head for a while.

"Are you tired, n/n?" She asked.

However before I could respond, Chisaki rushed into frame.

"S-Sir! I was watching them!" His henchman jumped.

"We need to go."

"Where—?"

"—NOW!"

I scooped the six year old up again and we quickly headed down the hallway. In the same position, Overhaul in front and the others in the back.

'It must be time...'

We scurried down the hallway, but not with any haste. It looked like he actually was confident in himself, but deep down you can see him sweating like crazy. At any moment—-

"Excuse me, gentlemen—But, we need to talk." We all turned around to be met with Mirio. "You've got some explaining to do. Why don't we have a chat about Eri and Y/N?"

"You shouldn't have been able to get here so fast."

"I took a shortcut. Give me the kids. I'm here to rescue them."

Overhaul actually chuckled at this. "Now that you know the situation, you've decided to play hero, eh, schoolboy?"

"Right! Well, we're still pretty new, but you probably already guessed that much."

"You were happy being ignorant when we first met. Unfortunately for you, these children don't want come with you. You're no hero to them. That's why I'm here." He scooted in front of me and Eri, his heanchman—Nemoto—clutched onto my arms. Making sure I couldn't move. "You left your own coworker unattained. Do you think they'll want to go back with you?"

"And I apologize for that , Y/N. I should've known better than to leave you and Deku alone that day.."

"Foolish. I'm not gettin' through to you. Allow me to be clearer. You're going to die down here." Chisaki growled.

Miro grunted. He swayed a little bit but stood his ground. What's happening to him? I felt it as well, but it wasn't as intense. I clutched Eri tighter.

"You feelin' sloshed?" Sakaki asked, "Your legs look shaky an' you're swaying. I feel the same. That's why I'm walkin' up 'ere. Stand too close to me..."

I wrinkled my nose. 'Okay. It's this guy's Quirk....what a weird quirk...'

"What is your Quirk?" Nemoto huffed, the training hero answered him quickly.

"Permeation. When activated, I can pass through anything!"

Mirio panicked, that must be the others quirk... I'm glad they didn't force out any information using this guy...the plan would've been fucked from day one.

"I see. That explains how you made it this far so quickly. You used your power to slip past Mimic and the others."

Sakaki rolled his eyes. "You missed him? Stupid. What're you, drunk?"

"That would be you."

"Ya think?"

"I suggest you stay silent and support your superior teammate."

"I get it. Your power must've forced me to tell the truth somehow," Mirios eyes scanned the area. " and they put someone like you on the front lines? Weird."

"That's true. I am in a different class compared to the dispensable pawns in this organization. I'm the only one who fully understands the young boss's ambition."

"He's torturing his own daughter, and you call that ambition?"

"Hm? Aw. It would be wise for you to leave your feelings out of this. Don't you know they'll only get you in trouble? When you first met Eri in the street. You let her return with the boss. Correct?"

"Yeah. I did."

"And you left two high school freshmen by themselves to go home when you knew the severity of the situation."

"I did that too."

"And then you found out what our plan was and regretted abandoning them. That's why you've come to rescue the them. You're no hero. You're just trying to soothe your own conscience, aren't you?" Nemoto went on and on. Trying to break Mirios strive. "I live for the young boss's ambition! He needs me! I'm his right hand! His most valued assistant! We'll share such joy when his plans come to fruition! Now!"

"Now!" Sakaki shouted as the three of them started to hash it out. However we weren't allowed to watch, Overhaul quickly grabbed my hand and dragged me away from the fight. An escape plan but not for us.

An escape to leave safety and be trapped again. Half of me wanted to pull back and stay with Mirio.

I wouldn't dare putting him in more danger by changing up the storyline.

I must keep the storyline in order.

We were about to open the doors when Mirio barreled through the room. Completely destroying the room. This caused me to drop to the floor. Trying to protect Eri from the debris.

He went straight for Overhaul. He was throwing punches, dogging Chisakis throws. Back and forth he was slowly pushing the masked villain backwards. Creating more of a distance between us and Overhaul.

"He's right. I am weak. I've been carrying around the guilt of letting Eri go. Even more when I learned that Y/N was taken as well. I acted unforgivably in front of that little girl. But despite that, rather than see us get hurt. She chose to return to that hell! She's kinder than any one of us! That's why I chased after her. And why I won't stop until she's safe."

"No way! How's he still upright?" Chisaki cried.

Eri clutched tightly to my dress.

"I get a taste of something much worse than your intoxicating quirk on the regular."

"You're no hero." Nemoto cried. The other two mafia members finally caught up.

Mirio argued, "You know the truth! I won't waver! I'm going to make sure she has a reason to smile. Until she can, I won't stop!"

Mirio managed to swoop in and grab Eri with one arm. He reached out for me to grab the other but Chisaki was quicker than he was. Since I was closer to overhaul than Eri was, he was able to grip onto my hair and yank me backwards.

"Go!" I screamed.

He scowled but our mission was to save the girl. To save Eri. I will happily sacrifice myself if it meant that this sweet girl would survive.—

—punched.

My head whipped to the left as a hand connected with my jaw. I spit up blood as Chisaki pulled me upwards.

"Please don't. Go back. Leave me!" Eri sobbed violently while in Mirios arms. "Otherwise he'll kill you!"

"I'm never going to let you down again, Eri. I swear it. I am going to be your hero! I am going to be your hero!"

His eyebrows frowned and he fixed his mask. "...Filthy. Come back, Eri. You don't want to leave your sibling do you now? How many times do I have to tell you? It's your fault. You break people. That's just how you were born." Mirio clung tightly to Eri as she tried to escape. "You know how this goes. I always have to get my hands dirty because of your selfishness. Every action you take results in people dying..."

"You're a cursed human. How could you ever say that to your own daughter?" Mirio screamed.

"Huh? Oh, right. That's the story I told you. I don't have any children." Mirio gasped as spiked formed from the ground. He aimed them at the duo and I warned them to watch out.

This is getting real fast..

Mirio jumped away before they even formed. He jumped back a few feet. "You could've been hurt. But he didn't care."

"Yeah, it wouldn't have been a big deal if she got hurt." Overhaul shrugged. "If I put her back together immediately, I can revive her. Even if she's not quite the way she was before. Eri already knows what I can do."

The room suddenly grew cold.

He continued, "What'll you do if Eri gets injured? Under these conditions, I'm the only one who can heal her. I've sealed off your escape. And you won't be able to run away using Permeation while you're holding her. Even if you do escape, what about Y/N? I didn't kidnap them to be a distraction. I've been harvesting their power to be created into bullets as well. The power of both being able to turn anything around me back in time combined with being able to send anyone into any time period is unstoppable!"

He let out an evil building laugh.

"It's an unstoppable combination! It'll make me unstoppable! So, I'll ask again. You going to fight me, Schoolboy?"
