all started when I was 15

Soon this pain become pleasure for me.

I was at peace when I used to harm myself.

I really thought I'm a curse...a bad curse, a demon who don't deserve any love and should be punished brutally for destroying people's life.

I loved the idea of hurting myself.

All these thoughts were running over Manik's mind again and again. His hands were bleeding, every single thing in the room was broken and his eyes were blood shot red. Tears were continuasly flowing from his eyes,he abruptly stood up and smashed his hands again on already broken mirror. This time glass peices pierced deep inside his hand but this was pain was lot lesser than what his heart was going through.

Before he could again hurt himself he heard a loud voice. He turned back and saw karan standing there,his eyes too were shedding tears without any mercy.

Karan-(shouting) papa

Saying this he ran inside and made Manik sit on one clear place where there were no glass or anything which can harm the duo.

Karan-(holding Manik's hand) what were you doing papa? How can you do this haan? You didn't think about maa,me aarav myrah or anyone of us?

Last line angered manik, he immediately hold Karan's shoulder and said rather shout.

Manik(angrily shouting)- and what about you haan? How can you harm yourself this brutally? How can U literally burn yourself? You didn't think about me? Or your ma? Or your favourite sister? Or your buddy? You are asking me how can I do this, what about you haan? Do you have any idea how much pain I'm going through? All this...all this is cause of me. I thought I'm protecting you keeping you away from me but I only become the reason of your miseries. I'm such a bad father....such a bad father. I don't even fucking deserve to be called a father. I thought I'm saving you from death but because of me only you died thousands of death Every damnn day. I Snatched your childhood,your teenage...I...I... snatched it.

By the end he was crying bitterly hiding his face in his hands whereas karan let him cry. He knew how important it is for him to let all these things out. He had no one with whom he can share his thoughts...this is the main reason he is like this today, cause he never get any chance to let someone know about his true feelings...but he was sure he won't let the same happened to his dad. Parents always tries to protect their kids but this time he is going to protect his dad from all the pain. When everyone was hugging him earlier he realised Manik is not there, he excused himself and ran towards his room to see his worst fear becoming true. Everyone else too thought of giving father son space so they can sort out and hence decided to not disturbed them.

Karan grabbed first aid box and hold Manik's hand and Start putting oinment on it. Manik was just looking at him all the time.

Karan-(putting bandage)- see...how bad you harm yourself....now you know from where I got these genes? Earlier I didn't know you love me..I really thought I'm just a burden that's why I used to harm myself...but since the time I know about everything I never did that again cause I knew I too have a family which I have to look after but what did you do? Even after knowing how much we love you , you gave yourself punishment like this? You didn't had any single idea... tell me this...if you knew about my self harm would you have still left me alone? Hmm?

Manik who was looking at his almost 18 yrs old son explaining him about current circumstances immediately nodded in no after hearing his question. If he would had even a  slightest about this, he wouldn't have left him alone even for a second.

Karan-then? How can you blame yourself? I have told you earlier also, no one was at fault... literally no one...we all were just puppet of our fate. That's it and Mr Malhotra I dare you say that again that you don't deserve to be a father... I'll show you what Manik Malhotra's son can do. You are the best dad any child can ever have. Get that?

Manik gave him small smile and nodded in yes- and you are the best son.

Karan (naughtily)- say that in front of aarav then only I will agree.

Manik made a fake horror face and said- are you mad? he will kill me.

Saying this they both laughed which was turned into a puppy face when they heard someone from behind.

Aarav-(glaring them hard) sunaa Maine. (I heard)

Manik-(extra sweetly) what baby?

Aarav-(exclaiming) NONONO....no Mr Malhotra don't baby me. Just see how I will tell maa that you gave myrah those cookies late night and you junior Malhotra, I'm going to tell mrudu how you was flirting with that girl.

Karan-(horrified) which girl? When did I flirt?

Aarav came very close to karan and said pointing his finger towards himself- mujhe ptaa Hai tune flirt nahi kiya ( he points His finger towards karan) tujhe ptaa Hai tune flirt nahi kiya ( then he points towards door as if showing mrudula) but usse tou nahi ptaa na?

( I know you didn't flirt, you know you didn't flirt but she don't know na you didn't Flirt)

Saying this he gave a evil laugh and ran outside making Manik karan ran after him trying to stop him.

They were running in corridor when a small baby figure bumped with Manik
To which he and Karan immediately bend down.

Manik-(panicking) shit shit...baby...are you okay princess?

Karan-(worriedly) myrah are you injured somewhere.....show me?

Myrah-( cutely rubbing her head) uff papaji your legs are so hard...my head bumped with your leg and it felt like I hit a stone.

Listening her karan giggles while manik sheepishly smiled.

Manik-(rubbing his neck) sorryy baby... saying this he gave her a hard peck to which she smiled and kissed him back and do the same with karan as well.

Myrah- now tell myrah, why were you running?

Karan/Manik( scaredly shouting)- ohh shit,aarav!

Myrah- what Aarav bhaiya?

Then both karan and Manik explained how  aarav heard them saying karan is best son and now how aarav is going to instigate nandini and Mrudula against them. Myrah too was angry+ scared now as she knew her mumma will ground her for eating cookies late night.

Myrah-(proudly) don't worry bhaiyu, papa ....I will teach that temple guy a good lesson.

Karan-(confusion) but what will you do?

Downstairs

Aarav was going to tell nandini and Mrudula but was stopped when he felt a pull. He looked down to see myrah pulling his jeans and asking him to come down.

Aarav-(bending down)- what rat?

Myrah-(whispering angrily)- temple guy, if you say a word to mumma and dida na, this rat will tell aradhya di how you was flirting with that girl when U went to cafe and now how she regularly calls you. Should I?

Aarav-(horrified) how do you know about that?

Myrah ( arrogantly) I'm very smart...now keep quiet or else this rat will eat your peace...get that?

Aarav nodded scaredly while from back karan and Manik had a hard time controlling their laugh.

Nandini (worries)- manii...what happened to your hand...you again hurt yourself na?

Manik-(sighing)- I'm fine Jaan... don't worry...

Nandini hugged manik tightly to which he reciprocated with equal favour and give her a soft kiss at her head.

Nandini (softly)- now everyone of you sit here... I'll go and laid dinner. (Turning towards karan and cupping his cheeks) are you okay?

Karan smilingly nodded and then ladies went to help nandini while everyone else moved towards dinning area except Karan Manik and myrah. Aarav went glaring at them to which they laughed at his face.

Karan(bending down) - baby...what did you said to that brat? Huh?

Myrah-(proudly) me and dadu went to a cafe one day where already aarav bhaiya was there with his friends. His friends gave him dare to flirt with one girl which after lots of forcing he did after telling that girl that it's a dare and asking if he can do this. Then me and dadu decided to tease bhaiya and now we call bhaiyu when we are bore and act like we are that girl from cafe only.

By the end she finished karan and Manik were rolling on floor while myrah was giggling keeping her both hands on her mouth.
