"Let's not fall in love, we don't know each other very well yet. Actually, I'm a little scared, I'm sorry. Let's not make promises, you never know when tomorrow comes..."

Taehyung laid on the floor for another minute until the pain faded. Jae-hwa's boyfriend hit hard. Even when it had faded a little, it still hurt. It reminded him of how Appa used to--
No. I don't want to remember that.
He stood up, glancing in the direction her boyfriend had gone. He couldn't see him down that way, so he took a step back toward the roof. He'd rather not go the same direction, he didn't want to get another beating. He probably only stopped because I collapsed.
Taehyung clutched his middle lightly as he walked back down the hallway.
When he finally made his way up the stairs, he was half running because he didn't want Jimin to get worried about him. Because he knew he would, Jimin was still tentative about leaving him alone. Because deep down, he still thinks I'm crazy. How could you believe them, Jimin?
On the roof, he was a little out of breath, a little in pain, and it showed, and he hated the looks Jungkook, Jimin and Hana gave him. Pity.
"Hyung, what's wrong?" Jungkook asked, in the middle of arranging his lunch.
Hana skipped questions and walked right up to him. Taehyung flinched when she came close enough to touch him. Hana looked down when he did, and he felt like he'd swallowed a rock. It's not you, I just don't want you to know about this.
"Hana-ssi..." He started, then licked his lips before tapping her arm to get her attention, realizing she couldn't hear him saying it. When she looked up, he continued. "Hana-ssi, I'm alright..." I'm lying again. I'm lying. But I can't tell her, I don't want her to know, I don't want her to worry, I don't want to see that look on her face anymore. I don't want her to be like me.
Hana nodded, then gave him a quick one armed hug, since the other arm was in a sling, then she quickly went back to sit next to Jungkook.
Taehyung felt his heart constrict in his chest for a second, then it beat fast, and he watched, his mind absolutely absent of thought as he watched her walk away. Not quite completely absent of thought, but the only clear thought was her name, over and over. Like a rhythm, like a song, like the beat of a butterfly's wings.
Taehyung bit his lip. When other thoughts came back, he caught Jimin smirking. Maybe...Maybe I like her... I can't commit to that kind of relationship, all of this is temporary. But... I like her... I want to...
"What happened to getting a drink, TaeTae?" Jimin asked.
Taehyung looked over at Jimin, not realizing how intently he was staring at Hana until then. "Ah...I didn't get one..." Taehyung cleared his throat, his voice having come out deeper then he'd intended. He dug the dollar out, walking over and giving it back to Jimin.
Jimin gave it right back. "Keep it. Why didn't you go get your drink? I didn't mean what I said about it before," he put a hand to the side of his mouth so Hana couldn't read what he was saying. "Girls would probably have a seizure if they knew about that strawberry milk thing."
They would? Why? What's special about me drinking milk? Taehyung shrugged. "I forgot." Forgot? That sounds dumb, so very dumb. How could I have forgotten?
"You...forgot?" Jimin asked, squinting at Taehyung. "On your way there, you just turned around and said, 'well, gee, I don't remember why I'm walking this way.'?"
"No. I..."
"And why are you talking like that?" Jimin asked. "Tae, I will tickle you if you don't tell me what the hell happened, I'm your brother for crying out loud!"
Brother? Brother... What do you mean? We aren't... Taehyung did suppose he was talking a little funny, his voice sounded strained, like he was holding back. He was. He usually held back on that deep tone his voice fell into normally, but he was holding back even more, considering how sore his abdomen felt from Jae-hwa's boyfriend punching him.
Taehyung sat down and drew his legs toward his chest. Which hurt, but, it would be better if he acted like nothing was wrong. "I...don't feel well..." He hugged his legs toward him and rested his chin on his knees.
"People have been catching colds lately. There's a bug going around." Jungkook said, then put a sushi roll in his mouth.
Jimin obviously didn't buy that, but shrugged. "You need to see the nurse, Tae?"
Taehyung shook his head. They'd know about it if he saw a nurse. Jungkook frowned, still chewing his sushi, and Jimin just seemed even more suspicious, and maybe a little annoyed that Taehyung wouldn't tell him. When he looked over at Hana, she stared back at him, and he stared back.
I'm such a bad liar. He bit his lip, and when he did that, Hana's cheeks seemed rosier then they were before, and she looked away quick.
What's wrong Hana? She couldn't possibly like him, she couldn't. What was there to even like about him? Why? I don't want to hurt you too, please don't get attached, please...

After school was done, and the entirety of the school filed out the front door. Teenagers rushed out, and Taehyung just tried to keep track of where Jimin and Jungkook were. Mrs. Park said she'd pick them up today.
In the way of trying to keep track of Jimin and Jungkook, he caught sight of exactly what Jungkook had mentioned a few days ago. Jae-hwa and her boyfriend were sitting on a stone bench on the side of the walkway from the school, in full view of everyone while he kissed her, his hand slowly making it's way up her thigh and up her skirt.
Taehyung didn't look long, he didn't really want to, what he had seen was enough to last him a lifetime. Jimin had decided to wait by the curb for his mom, so he pulled Taehyung along.
He hadn't noticed Hana had come too until they were the only ones standing by the curb since their classmates were rushing to the bus around the corner.
"Hana, are you coming too?" Jungkook asked, since Taehyung couldn't even think of anything to say, and it probably showed.
Hana shook her head, then pointed down the road, at a red car driving up. Then she mouthed, what looked like, "Eomma."
"Oh! Your mom is picking you up?" Jungkook asked, putting his hands in his pockets.
Hana nodded and smiled. And soon her mom drove up to the curb. Hana was about to get in when her mom rolled down the window.
Her mother was pretty, her makeup smoky looking and her hair falling into silk curls on her shoulders, her lips painted with a light pink, her clothes nice and well kept, not to mention brightly colored. "Oh, and who's this?" She asked Hana.
Jimin smiled. "I'm Park Jimin, that's Jeon Jungkook, and Kim Taehyung." gesturing toward each of them respectively.
Then they all bowed and said, "It's Nice to meet you."
Hana's mom laughed as Hana got in the passenger seat and put her seatbelt on. "I heard about you three, quite a lot about Taehyung, actually, Hana can go on for hours about how she--."
Hana hit her mother's shoulder and hid her face in her hand. You're doing it again, Hana, why are you blushing?
"Oh, Hana, he's cute, I see why you like him." Her mom said, winking at Taehyung.
Jimin elbowed Taehyung at that, it seemed like Hana's mother was on Jimin's side. "Can Hana come with us? We're going to get ice cream, it's kind of a little celebration."
Taehyung glanced at Jimin. Celebration? Why is it a celebration? What happened that needed to be celebrated?
Hana's mother sighed. "Hana's got a appointment with a doctor for her arm. Maybe some other time? I'm sure she'd love to come whenever she decides to come out from behind her hand..." She waited a second, staring down her daughter to will her to do that, but Hana kept her hand up by her face. Hana's mother smiled, then patted her daughter's knee, before waving to them. "See you, then."
After she pulled away from the curb and drove down the street, Jimin elbowed Taehyung again, this time harder, and right in his abdomen, which hurt doubly so.
"Owwww...! Jimin, that hurts..." Taehyung said, rubbing his stomach, his voice choking from the pain.
Jimin frowned. "First off, Hana has a crush on you, and I think you should confess, if she doesn't first, because she obviously wants you, dude." He started, making Taehyung bite his lip. "Second, that shouldn't have hurt that bad, are you okay?"
Taehyung nodded. "...I'm fine."
"Stop acting like you aren't then, if that's true." Jimin said, raising an eyebrow. "Tae, I'm not an idiot, you were doing the same thing earlier, you didn't forget, someone stopped you, didn't they? And they hurt you, didn't they? Who's the bastard?"
Taehyung swallowed. Jimin's tone of voice was verging on angry. Don't. I can handle it by myself, I'm not that pathetic, am I? You don't have to do anything, Jimin.
"It was Min Yoongi, wasn't it?" Jungkook asked. "I'll bet you it was Jae-hwa's boyfriend Min Yoongi, he's been going through the school at lunch hour like he owns the place."
That was enough for Jimin, the shorter boy going straight over to the bench where Yoongi and Jae-hwa were still--doing whatever they were doing, he wasn't sure what to call it. Taehyung reached out to grab Jimin's arm to stop him, but Jimin pulled away easily enough, going right toward them, and Jungkook and Taehyung followed, though Jungkook was for the most part, trying to talk him out of this. Jimin wasn't listening, and Taehyung didn't even know where to start.
When they walked up, Jae-hwa was planting a million kisses on Yoongi's neck, and was sitting on his lap. Yoongi groaned when he saw them. "What the hell do you want?"
Jimin took a deep breath. "Did you beat him up?" He said, gesturing to Taehyung.
Yoongi sighed. "'Beat up' is an exaggeration, I hit him, roughed him up, pumpkin-head is just a baby and can't take a punch."
"What the hell?! What did Taehyung ever do to you?!" Jimin said, his hands balling into fists.
Please don't fight. Please, I don't want to watch if you're going to fight. Jimin, don't, please don't.
"Eeeh, you know, I don't see how this has anything to do with you, shorty, I beat your ass already. This is between me and pumpkin-head, if he's got a problem, why doesn't he speak up?" Yoongi faked surprise. "Ah, Right, he's a crazy little munchkin who doesn't have a backbone and can't take one punch."
Taehyung licked his lips. He couldn't fight, he knew he couldn't. Anything he'd ever done to hurt anybody could be summed up in about a minute. He didn't hurt people. He never really wanted to hurt Appa, that had just happened, he hadn't meant it. He couldn't fistfight, that he knew for sure. I'm not crazy, I won't do that, don't call me crazy.
"Fight me, then." Jimin started and surprised Taehyung with how serious he was. "Your sl*t girlfriend is picking on a deaf girl, if Taehyung won't fight you, I will, I don't care if I lose."
"Jimin..." Jungkook started, but apparently couldn't come up with a follow up.
Taehyung looked down at his hands. Why did Jimin have to be the most selfless person in the room all the time? Where did he even get the courage? Where did he get the drive to do that?
Yoongi tilted his head to the side and squinted at Jimin before pushing Jae-hwa to stop her from kissing him. "What did you call her? Say it again, I dare you, I'll beat the sh*t out of you."
Jimin was about to say something, probably just say it again exactly like how Yoongi had asked, but then there was a car honk, actually several in a row. "Come on!"
Taehyung looked back to see Kyung-mi leaning out of the passenger side window, frowning.
Yoongi groaned. Then got up and gave Jimin a poke to the chest. "Don't think you're out of this." He said. Yoongi looked Jimin in the eye with so much ice, it didn't seem to matter that he was sizing up Jimin without being all that taller then him.
"Come on, hyung, let's just go..." Jungkook said, pulling at Jimin's arm.
Jimin spent another second staring at Yoongi, then turned away. Yoongi smirked when Jimin walked away. Taehyung followed Jimin and Jungkook after a second. All of them quiet on the way to the car.
Min Yoongi... He wondered why he was like that. I can understand him hating me, but... He was that type, the type Jae-hwa hung around, the type that would find any chance to make fun of him. For all Taehyung knew, Taehyung could have met him before. But Yoongi...He gave off a feeling like he wouldn't care if the world burned, like he cared about maybe 3 or 4 things.
After they got in the car, Kyung-mi complained about having to wait, while Jimin insisted it couldn't have been more then a few seconds. Jimin was probably right. And since Jungkook seemed to be insisting that too, Taehyung stayed out of it.
What do I do? The question bothered him, and he absently traced the smile on the charm around his neck, looking out the window as they pulled away and Mrs. Park started driving. He couldn't fight, he couldn't even argue, this wasn't like Jae-hwa. Yoongi was the type to beat him bloody if given the chance. But he couldn't just let Jae-hwa pick on Hana. Not after that picture, not after what she'd done to her. He wished he could get the picture out of his mind, so when he thought of her, he didn't see that.
Hana's an angel, a beautiful angel, I'd rather see her in a dress.
"Taehyung, are you listening, honey?" Mrs. Park asked.
Honey? The word brought him out of his thoughts faster then ever. Honey... Taehyung shook his head. "No, I wasn't."
Mrs. Park smiled and met Taehyung's eyes in the rearview mirror. "After we get Ice Cream, I've got something I have to discuss with you, okay? Is that alright? or would you rather we do that at home?"
Discuss? Taehyung's heart dropped. You're taking me back aren't you? You're going to make me take the pills aren't you? You're going to sent me to some kind of group to get treatment, aren't you?
"I...." Taehyung bit his lip, he didn't know what to say. "That's...fine with me." No, it isn't. It's not fine at all.
Taehyung glanced at Jimin, who was smirking. Jungkook was fiddling with his phone. Maybe it isn't too bad...
