Chapter 6
I was very confused. Every day, I had longed to be back in the land of the living. What made these two sisters of mine so special that they could actually bring me back?
I had seen the fairy do her spell, and I could feel its magical potency, but it just didn't seem strong enough to actually make me appear. I wondered if I need to re-upgrade my magic radar. It just didn't make sense!
I went to see the G.G.M. The Grand Ghost Mother usually had all the answers. I hovered down Pneumonia St. around Decapitation corner, and into Headless Heights. I lived (if you could call it that, I'm dead!) on Pneumonia St. Because that was how I died.
The G.G.M. was waiting for me.
"I heard you were up on the surface," said a voice like a rusty door hinge.
"Yes Grand Ghost Mother, I was on the surface," I tell her truthfully.
"How did you do it?!" the ghostly fingernails dug into my arm (which was ghostly as well).
"My... m-my ... s- sisters," I stuttered. I had never known the G.G.M. to act desperate, but here she was, clinging to me like a baby.
"How? How did they bring you back?" she asked.
"I don't truthfully know," I answered. It was true only because I didn't understand the spell that allowed them to do it in the first place.
"Next time I go up, I'll ask them," I tell her, trying to console her. I knew instantly it was the wrong thing to say.
"They can do it again?" she shrieked.
"That is, I think they can!" I yelled, trying to be heard above her endless screaming.
"WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL US ABOUT THIS SOONER?! SO MANY GHOSTS DREAM OF THIS OPPORTUNITY AND NEVER GET IT! WHO ARE YOUR SISTERS AND HOW CAN THEY DO THIS?" she was almost crying with rage and sadness.
"I didn't tell you because I didn't know. I was a baby when I died. I knew nothing of either of my sisters. Please don't be mad," I implore.
"Next time you go up, you will ask them to bring me up as well. If it doesn't succeed I will make you stay here until they figure it out. Audience finished," She She told me.
I left the G.G.M. and hovered outside. Where should I go? I didn't have very many ghostly friends, and the ones I did have were all with their ghost boyfriends. I sighed. I wish I could go back to my sisters. But I had to wait until their schedules met again.
What had made them bring me in the first place? Why not some other random ghost? Was it because I was their sister at one point in time? Or something else? Wait, the spell said:
Within ten feet
Shall you meet
To find her, today
To find HER! The spell was referring to ME! Somehow, the fairy godmother had known about me! But how?
The King had obviously kept the whole affair quiet. So how had she known about it? It just didn't make sense. I know fairy godmothers are observant, but no way are they able to tell the future. I would have to tell my sisters about it the next time I saw them.

I walked into the living room to find my mother crying and my father trying to comfort her. I wonder...
"Pa, did you know about all this?" I asked him.
"All what? All I know is that your mother is crying and I am trying to comfort her. What is she so upset about?" he told me.
"I am a triplet." I told him.
"No sweetie, you're a twin," He corrected me.
"No dad, I'm a triplet and my sister is Princess Olivia. I know I know, my sister is Alice and she is dead. But dad, mom is so upset because our dad is the king and I was supposed to be a princess and don't ask me how I know that." I finished in one big breath. My parents (or, my mom and step-dad) were momentarily speechless.
"How did you know?" my mom whispered.
"Apparently my sister Alice can come back as a ghost when Olivia and I are within 10 feet of each other. She showed us a lot of stuff." I explained.
"What is going on? A few hours ago, I thought that your mom had adopted you at birth, and you were a twin. How exactly did this happen?" my father (step father?) asked.
"Well, you see, mom had triplets with the king. They decided that he would have two and she would have one. When hers died, he gave her one of his. But before that had happened, he had a fairy come and give us a blessing. It enabled us to call Fay, ghosts and each other. So Olivia was drawn to me. And we met, and that enabled Alice to come back as a ghost. That is what happened." I explained.
My parents were dumbstruck. My mom started crying again. My father just stared. I wonder what he was thinking. My daughter is supposed to be a princess? Well, it was true. I was supposed to be with Olivia right now. She was probably relaxing and having the time of her life.
