Chapter Five

"Sam! Wait!" I exclaimed, but all I got in return was a slammed door.

I love him to death and I don't know what I would do without him. And I don't even know how I got him, but I know I can't lose him.

And I know we seem to be moving pretty fast, but we really do love each other, even though we haven't been together long and we're just some young teenagers who don't even know what love is. I'm only 17 and he's 19, but still. I've never felt this way before and Sam has never given me any reason to doubt my love or trust for him.

Except, maybe now.

Why would he need to leave and go down to the barn for "frenzy time"??? What is he thinking?

Does he honestly think I wouldn't worry with the rushing off and all?
What if he's hooking up with one of those girls? He did sound more worried, than excited, so I doubt it. But it still is random and leaves me wondering.

I can't just wait here like his little puppy dog and obey his every orders. I'm following him, whether he likes it or not.

After I heard the door at the top of the stairs slam, I ran up right behind, but paused to think. Is it wrong for me to follow? Should I trust him completely, I mean, it is shady for him to leave so abruptly, but he's my boyfriend and I love him. I need to trust him.

I decided to wait, again.

***** ~2 HOURS LATER~

I went up to the main library to get a new book, but found a muscular guy about Sam's age in a black tee and white basketball shorts with Nike tennis shoes instead.

"Can I help you, sir?" I asked, even though I honestly just wanted to read peacefully.

"Yes, actually." He said, sounding relieved.

"What can I do for you today?"

"I need to cite at least 5 written resources in a 12 page essay for school." He shifted nervously.

"Um, okay. What's the topic, Mr..." I asked, purposely sounding annoyed.

"Just Eric, will do. And it's on The Cold War." He answered bluntly, as if I should've already known. He leaned to the right to read my name tag and muttered 'Kacey' to himself.

"Alright, Eric, just come back sometime tomorrow and I'll have about ten options picked out for you."

"Well, actually, it's due tomorrow at 7 AM, so it needs to be finished tonight..." He said.

"Okay, can you give me 30-45 minutes, please then?" I said, actually annoyed now. Who waits until the last minute for a 12 page research essay???

"Take however much time you need, I have all night with you, Sweets." He said with a wink.

Before I walked away, I looked at him disgustingly as I snorted and rolled my eyes.

When I was walking up and down the aisles though, the guy would just wait at the ends and go to each aisle I was on, watching me. It was extremely creepy.

I tried to forget about him, but as I bent down once to reach a book, all I heard was a slow whistle and a "Dannggg, baby. I'd love to see you later sometime."

My face went scarlett, I was not flattered, I felt violated and embarrassed. The guy only fed off of my reaction though, "Oh, did you like that, hon? How about this? Would you like this?"

I was pushed up against the bookshelf and he touched me too firmly where he definitely should not have.

I screamed bloody Mary (even though nobody else was here, unfortunately) and tried to elbow him, but it only gave him the satisfaction to say, "Well, well. I like feisty ones."

I managed to push off the bookshelf and kicking him where it hurts most in the process, allowing me to break loose of his grip to sprint down the aisle.

He howled in pain and leaned heavily on one of the shelves.

I zig zagged up and down random aisles to keep from being caught, all while shouting, "HELP!! SAM! SAMMY! HELP ME! I NEED HELP, SAMMY! SAMMMMY!"

It all seemed to be no use, Sam wasn't coming, he was at the barn having frenzy time.

I ran up an aisle thinking: almost at the door, almost at the door. My plan was to run to the door that leads to the basement, lock myself in, and call Sammy.

I heard a noise, so I looked back and the next thing I knew, I was on the floor. I tripped over a book that Sam forgot to pick up when he was trying to lure me up here earlier.

As I tried to get up, Eric yelled and landed hard on top of me. Making me crack my chin on the wooden floor. He then picked me up and flipped me over, letting the back of my head smack on the floor.

I screamed again, but I was losing my voice and my screams became quieter and quieter each time. Plus, I managed to bite my tongue and my mouth kept filling with blood to spit out.

Eric started to rip open my plaid shirt, sending buttons everywhere. "I promise you'll love this baby. You just wait and see, Sweetheart"

He then tried to unzip my jeans, but I kept thrashing against his every move, trying to break loose.

I think I began to hallucinate from loss of blood, because I could've sworn I saw- No, I couldn't have, but it really did look like... fangs. I didn't have any other time to  think about it because suddenly, Sam came out of no where as I screamed one last time.

He punched Eric in the jaw, then his nose. "You. Don't. Ever. And I mean never, ever. Touch her. Again."

Sam pounded his face 3 or 4 more times. Eric was shaking and holding his bloody face when Sam grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and pulled him off the floor to eye level. "Got it, Sweetheart?" And Lordy day, Sammy said it with a wink.

The guy shook his head, still shaking from pain and being scared, as Sam said, "Good. Now get. I never want to see your face again. I have cameras, so don't think I won't find you and do something about it. I will-"

"SAM! STOP IT!" I shouted as loud as I could while warm tears were streaming down my cheeks and blood in my hands and all over my shirt.

Sam took one look at me and he looked as though he melted. He picked up the guy by his shoulders and shoved him out of the main entrance and locked the doors behind him, then turned around.

"Baby..." Sammy whispered as he looked at me, before running to my side.

"Baby, Kacey, I'm so sorry, baby. I never should have left. I'm so sorry." He pulled me close, softly, like I was the most fragile thing. I instantly started sobbing into his chest, I couldn't control it any longer.

*****

Sam eventually picked me up and carried me down to the bathroom. He helped clean me up my face, then I showered. I agreed to stay the night with him here at the library. He didn't want me walking home in the dark and mom doesn't give a crap about where I am.

I curled up in a ball into Sam's warm chest and slowly drifted off to sleep.

When I had almost dozed off, I heard the faintest of whispers that said, "I love you, my beautiful."
