10 Minutes

I start the car as Louis smiles giddily in the front seat. I look behind me and see Niall and Harry glaring at each other. Harry looks away and sneers at Niall. I can tell Niall is trying his best not to snap Harry's neck. This was a bad idea. I shouldn't have let Louis get in the front seat, but I can't look back now, I'm already on the road. 

9 minutes

I take a deep breath and try to calm myself from the glowing green electronic clock attached to the dash. I can't stop adjusting myself, I feel like I'm gonna faint. 

Keep it together Caitriona, breathe. Just breathe. I really need to calm down, it's not that bad, just my current boyfriend- wait is he? I mean he's never really made it clear what we are. He says he loves me but what does it make us? 

8 minutes

What does it make us? I repeat in my head again. I don't know, I honestly don't know. I mean he told Aedan we were together, but are we? The thought alone makes my heart sink. I've never loved anyone as much as I love Niall. I mean I'm doing this for him, I'm doing all of this stupid shit for him. I want him to love me for everything apart of me and Emilia is one of them. 

7 minutes

I know he's gonna go no matter what and I guess I haven't prepared myself for it yet. I knew it would happen, but now that it is..I would rather jump off a bridge. I can't live without him, I can't I can't...he means so much to me, I can't let him go....it's so selfish, but I can't. The last time I tried that we both were a mess, and that mess was also yesterday. It's so hard to believe that so much has happened since we were in the shower together giggling our thoughts away. Him wasting my lavender body wash, and me breaking his heart. 

6 minutes

Here I go again breaking his heart, over and over again. Now I get why he told me that he didn't want to be my punching bag. I don't want to hurt him, but it just keeps happening. I want to prove to him that I love him, but I constantly tell him lies. 

I don't deserve him. 

5 minutes

"Caitriona why are you crying?" Niall whispers. I flinch as his fingers brush against my shoulder. I look at him with sadness as he looks at me and drags his eyes away. 

"Oh come on! Stop with this shit" Harry rolls his eyes. 

"I'm sorry" I whisper tucking some hair behind my ear. 

"Why are you telling him you're sorry? Harry don't you dare tell her what to do!" Niall demands. 

4 minutes

"Shut up Horan. I can do whatever I want, even kiss your girlfriend" Harry sneers through my mirror. Niall grabs his collar and pins him against the door. 

"Who the hell do you-" Niall yells, but I cut him off. 

"Niall please! I'm driving! You can smash his face in when we get there" I whine  as he rolls his eyes. 

"I don't care-" 

3 minutes

"Niall 3 minutes! gosh it's only 3 minutes!" I shout as he lets go of Harry and returns to his seat.

"Sorry" he grumbles. 

"Hey guys it's us on the radio!" Louis turns up the music to That's what makes you beautiful. He starts dancing in his seat and singing along to the annoying song. 

2 minutes

Before I could call out Louis for being an idiot, I see the house. The house that will change everything forever, this house will determine my today, my tomorrow, my entire future. 

I feel my stomach twist as I pull into the driveway. All I want to do is start up the car again and drive away from all of this, but I need to own my mistakes instead of hide from them. It's not right to neglect Emilia for my past, she is my present, and my future. She is the most perfect daughter a mother could ask for...oh my Emilia. 

1 minute

I unbuckle my seatbelt and shut the door. Without a word Niall takes my side and holds my hand. I turn to face him as we stop at the front door. I sigh a shaky breath and look nervously into his eyes. 

"I'm so sorry Niall, for all of this. I should've told you about Emilia in the first place-" I get cut off by the door opening, revealing a shirtless Liam. 

"Hey Kate? Um I didn't expect-" 

"Daddy come on! Mr. Snake and Ms. Pooplekins are waiting for their tea!" Emilia studders a little gripping onto Liam's leg. She is wearing a Cinderella costume and her brown-red hair is neatly put into a bun. Her eyes land on me and she smiles brightly. "Mummy!!" She squeals running up to my legs. I pick her up and kiss her all over, tickling her, making her laugh. 

"Come on!" She drags me inside. "Would you like some tea?" She asks sweetly.  I look behind me and Niall's face says it all. He looks confused, but angry at the same time. Luckily I'm saved by my aunt who picks her up. 

"Um would you mind taking her for a minute?" I ask as she nods. 

"I figured" she smiles nervously, looking behind me. "Um we'll be in the other room" she says silently before exiting the room with Emilia in her arms. I turn away from the door way and rush toward Niall, placing a hand on his cheek but he turns his face away from my touch. 

"You lied" his eyes brimmed with tears, waiting to overflow. 

"I know but-" 

"I'm not finished" he growls. "You lied when I asked you about Liam. Is this what you wanted to talk to him in private about when i left! That you didn't want him to tell me about Emilia?!" He yells at me. I don't even flinch once, I'm shocked I didn't shed a tear, at least not yet. 

"And you! What's wrong with you! You just knock up every girl you meet? How old is she huh? Two? Three? Where were you? Yeah you were with the band and being a bum for a father! Let me guess...Caitriona was here slaving her life away while you were getting drunk and sleeping with other girls!" Niall yells pinning him up against the wall. 

"Niall he didn't know" I say shamefully looking away from his eyes. 

"What?!" He yells not even hearing me. 

"He didn't know Niall! He left after all of this...he didn't find out until he came back about a year ago when you guys played a show in Dublin" I rub my eyes. 

"You're still shit for a father" Niall spits as Liam finally snaps. He grabs Niall by the collar and pushes him to the other side of the room punching him over and over. 

"Liam stop!" I pull him off of Niall who wipes the blood from his nose. 

"I can't believe you! You slept with Liam, slept with me, and you kissed Harry. You are such a slut!" He screams pushing me away from him. "Let him punch me! thats all you do to me anyway Kate!" He says as I cry. He would've never said anything like this to me, but I guess things are much different now. 

"Do you know what she's done for you?! Honestly do you?!" Liam defends me. "She's tried to keep this from you so you wouldn't do this! Do you even know she pushed me away because she loves you so fucking much and you can care so much less about her! This is her owning up to her- I mean our mistake. She's trying to open up to you and you are being a dick" 

"Why don't you mind your own business!" Niall growls putting his finger in Liam's face. I grab Niall's arm to pull him away from Liam, but his elbow launches back at my contact and hits me in the cheek, pushing me to the floor. My tiny body slides across the floor and my head hits the wall. I groan in pain as Niall rushes to my side. 

"Kate I'm sorry-" 

"Just go away" I mumble, looking away from his fixed gaze. I know he heard me as hurt spreads across his face. 

"No I-" 

"I said go away!" I push him off of me and try to get up, regaining my balance. "Just go! You're gonna do it anyway! You're right. It's just going to be me all alone taking care of Emilia for the rest of my life so if you can't except it then get out!" I sob walking out of the room. 

"Caitriona!" I hear Niall follow me but I ignore his shouts. 

I walk into Emilia's room and she her playing with her favorite Monkey toy. I smile, wiping my eyes and I pick her up and hold her in my arms silently rocking her back and forth. 

"Mummy why are you crying?" She says wiping my face with her tiny hands. I take them and kiss them. 

"Because I missed you soooooo much baby" I smile through my tears. 

"I missed you too mummy" she smiles hugging me tightly, resting her head on my shoulder. 

"You won't have too anymore Emilia, it just gonna be you and mummy from now on...I promise" and I meant it, I meant every word. I wasn't going to run anymore, not from my daughter anymore. She needs me, she needs me here and I'm not going no where, not anymore. 

"Me and you Emilia. We're gonna get a big castle full of anything that you want-" 

"Better have candy" she chuckles. 

"Of course it will have candy" I laugh. "You are-" I get cut off by a knock at the door. I set down Emilia and open it, expecting Niall but I was wrong, it was Harry. 

"I'm sorry about everything Kate" he sighs. Part of me wishes Niall would be the one here and saying that, but he isn't. I thought he'd come after me, but I was wrong. 

"There's nothing to be sorry for Harry, you didn't do anything. If anything this is all my fault" I tuck a strand of hair behind my ear. "Is Niall still here?" I ask. 

"No he left...he's such a dick" harry crosses his arms while his gaze his fixed on me. 

"He's just upset right now-" 

"You're really defending him right now? Seriously Kate" he scoffs. "Do you realize what he did to you? He hit you and he left you here. He obviously doesn't want you" Harry's words hurt, but they are true...he doesn't want me. 

"I guess your right" I let out a sob and he wraps his arms around me, hugging me tightly. 

"I'm sorry Caitriona" he says between my sobs. "He doesn't deserve you" 

"Thank you Harry, for everything" I mutter in his shoulder. 

"Don't worry I'm always here"
