I walked through the front door of the school, fumbling with my bag to get my  locker key out. The first lesson today was English, I wondered if carter was coming today, English is the only class we had together and I missed him. I took my books out and placed them in my bag.

 I was about to call Carter to ask him whether he was coming or not when my eyes fell on Drake. He was trying to open his locker, twisting his key vigorously. I hesitated for a second and then walked towards him. 

"Need help?" I said as I reached him.

He stopped fumbling with the locker and side glanced me.

"No thank you" came his short reply and he went back to doing what he was doing.

The key clicked in place making the door flew open. He took out his books not sparing me a glance, Ally must have told him about our fight. I didn't know what to say, it was too awkward. This was Drake, the boy who never shut up,he clearly is ignoring me.

"So, I wanted to ask. Is Carter coming today?" I said carefully, trying to start a conversation.

"I don't know" 

He didn't look my way this time. Bending down he picked up his bag and was about to leave when I stopped him by saying:

"Is Ally coming?"

He stopped in his tracks and after a moment turned to look at me. I couldn't decipher is expressions, his emotions but I could sense his anger now.

"Why? You wanna insult her some more?" He said, his jaws clenched as he stared at me.

Before I could reply him I saw Ally running towards us from the other side, her gaze shifted from Drake to me and she slowed down her pacing, her eyes judging me, asking me what I was doing here. She stopped a few steps away from us.

"Drake I need to talk to you" She said turning to look at him. 

Drake turned around and looked at her, his expressions changing suddenly, ghost of a smile visible on his lips. He nodded and walked towards her. taking her hand in his they turned and walked away, my eyes watching the ring that shined on Ally's finger. I stayed rooted in my spot for another few seconds, waiting for her to turn around and call me over or come running to me so we could leave everything that happened far behind but she didn't.

I sighed and started walking towards my class suddenly feeling down. As I entered the class bell rang in the hallway, students rushing to their classes. I settled in my seat and took out my phone, there was a message from Mason.

'Ally and Drake got engaged? Everyone is talking about it'

Before I could reply him, Miss Jean walked inside the classroom. I hurriedly put the phone back in my pocket.

English was long and boring today, the whole lesson I waited for Carter to show up but he didn't. Why did he skip school today? I left my class and walked back to my locker, placed my books back and took out the ones I needed for the next lesson. 

"Hey"

I jumped, startled from the sudden voice. Taking a deep breath I turned to see Carter standing behind me, his lips twitched from the side as he tried not to laugh at me.

"You jerk" I said hitting him on the shoulder as he burst out laughing.

"I'm sorry" I said after he calmed down a little.

"Yeah, right" I scoffed and turned back to my locker.

Carter leaned against the locker right next to me. he was wearing a light blue buttoned down shirt with blue jeans. I closed my locker after and turned to face him, his hair sticking out in every direction and I had the urge to run my fingers through them.

"You weren't in English today" I said.

"I skipped" He replied.

"Why? English is the only class we have together. I was waiting for you."

"I wanted to come but Drake called, he wanted to skip." 

"Oh" I said looking away, not wanting him to see that it effected me.

"I'm sorry I didn't come but for the rest of the day, I'm all yours" 

He took a step towards me and grabbed my hand.

"I missed you flower" He said, his hands warm.

I felt butterflies in my stomach from his words, I stared at our hands together. The bell rang in the distance signalling the next lesson has started.

"I'll see you at lunch?" I said looking at him again.

He nodded with a smile that increased the number of butterflies.

I hurried out of my forth period, my stomach growled because of hunger, it was so loud I was sure people next to me can hear it. I opened my locker and stacked my books inside.

"Eva" said Mason.

He looked out of breath as he came and stood next to me. 

"I am so sorry Mason I didn't texted you back" I said remembering he messaged me in the morning. I had forgotten about to reply him back.

"That's fine but is it really true?" He asked his voice dropping low as he stepped closer. "I called Ally in the morning but she didn't picked up, I texted it too but no reply"

"Its true" I said sighing, closing my locker.

"What? Is Ally out of her mind?"

We started walking to the cafeteria. I searched around to find Carter.

"She came yesterday afternoon to tell me, show me the diamond ring that Drake gave her. I told her she needs to think this through, that she's still so young and they have been dating for like 6 months only. God Mason why doesn't her understand that Marriage is not like dating."

Beside's me Mason just let go of a sigh.

"Does her parents know?"

"I don't know" I replied shaking my head.

"Everyone is talking about it, Its the new hot gossip of the school" 

Now that I Listened carefully Mason was right, I could hear whispers all around. And why wouldn't people talk about this? Its the popular playboy Drake asking a girl to marry him and not just any girl, Ally James of all. Nobody takes Drake as the kind to settle down. Of course its going to be a huge news.

"Why wouldn't she tell me?" Said Mason, his voice holding sadness.

Before I could reply him we reached the cafeteria, Carter was leaning against the wall, listening to Haley. She was moving her hands around telling him something. His eyes dragged across the hall and settled on me. A smile crept on his face as he kept staring at me. Haley had stopped talking and was looking at me too, a frown on her face.

"Remind me why you're with him?" said Mason under his breath as we walked towards them.

"Carter is sitting with us today" said Haley as we reached them. "You're invited too" she added as an after thought and walked inside the cafeteria.

Mason followed her too, leaving me and Carter alone. 

"Let's ditch the school and go somewhere else" He said coming closer to me.

"My dad will kill me if he hears I ditched my lessons just too hang out with you"

My stomach growled again and I grabbed Carter's Hand.

"Let's go, I'm starving" 

We entered the cafeteria and I looked around trying to find Carter's table. 

"Where are your friends sitting?" I asked.

"Uh, its fine let's sit at your table" said Carter from beside me as I spotted where his friends were.

I could see Drake and Ally sitting there with the rest and turned to look at Carter.

"Why? Cause Ally and Drake might not like if I'm there?" I said sternly.

"Hey its not like that, I just don't want you to feel uncomfortable"

I sighed and looked away.

"Eva, is everything okay?" Said Carter as he stepped closer, his hands resting on my waist.

"Why do I feel like there is something going on with you and your not telling me?"

I looked up into his eyes, he is so beautiful he takes my breath away every time.

"I need to tell you something tonight." 

He nodded and pulled me towards him, I rested my head on his chest and closed my eyes letting out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"I have to apologize to Ally" I said.

"Yeah but it can wait" He replied.

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion and pulled back.

"Why?"

"No Ally means I have you all to myself without an annoying background music"

Without meaning too a laugh escaped me.
