I was eating my breakfast when I heard the horn outside.

"Its Carter" I said starting to get up.

"I'll get it" said my mom as she went out of the kitchen.

"Eva come back straight home from school okay?" Said Daniel next to.

"And don't talk to strangers on the way home" added Alex.

I stared at them amd laughed.

"Hey" came Carter's voice from behind me, I felt him lean down and kiss on my head.

"Hi" I said turning to him as he sat down next to me.

"Hey Daniel and Alex" said Carter looking at then across from me.

Daniel gave a side glance to Carter as he took a bite of his cereal.

"You're not impressing us Carter"

"Is this how we greet people?" Came my mom's shrill voice and both Alex and Daniel greeted Carter properly. 

"Did you have breakfast?" Asked my mom as she went to the stove.

"Actually no, my mom had to go to a meeting abroad"

"Oh its fine, I'll make something for you" said my mom and took out eggs from the fridge.

As she started making the eggs Millie came into the kitchen crying. Her hair flying everywhere as she held on tight to her teddy bear. Carter got up and took her in his arms. I stared at him as he made Millie laugh at something, my heart swelling up.

If I could have this for the rest od my life, I think I'll live happy forever.

Carter's car entered in the school parking lot. As usual people stared, I don't know why but I suddenly felt strange, sitting here next to him.

"So....does everyone know about us?" I asked as he parked the car in his usual spot.

"Yea of course, news travel fast" he replied and got out of the car.

I opened the door and got out myself, my bag in my hand. It felt good to be back at school, I never thought I'd miss it but after spending months at home I wanted to come back aa quickly as I can.

Carter came towards me, taking my bag from me and grabbing my hand. I could feel people's stare as we walked towards the front of the school.

"Everyones staring" I whispered to Carter.

I felt Carter laugh next to me.

"Of course they will, you got kidnapped, show up after weeks and the most shocking, you're dating me"

"I don't like it" I said with a pout as we entered the hallway.

"Eva" came Mason's voice as he ran to me and engulfed me in a hug.

"Its so good to have you back, I missed you so much"

"We met yesterday Mason but its good to be back" I replied with a giggle.

"Where's everyone else?" I asked looking around.

"Ally texted she won't be coming and the rest have probably already went to the class"

I nodded as I looked at Carter, waiting for me patiently.

"Hey Carter" said Mason finally acknowledging him.

Carter nodded looking his way and came to stand next to me, intertwining our hands.

"You know I'll go and save us seats for maths" said Mason smiling at me.

I nodded and watched him go in the direction of the class.

"You don't have to act so cool in front of my friends. Mason is great, you should get along with him" I said turning to Carter.

"I have a reputation to hold Ms Evans" he replied with a smile.

"Then you shouldn't realky be dating me, I am way below your standards"

The words got out of my mouth before I could stop them, before I could think about them. Smile on Carter's face faded as he looked at me.

"Eva....what?"

"Nothing, I'm just kidding....I"

"No your not kidding. Eva why would you think something like that" he said and closed his eyes as if trying to get rid of a bad thought.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to-"

"Don't apologize, just please don't ever think like this again. Your everything I want Eva"

I nodded as I watched him try to relax.

"I'll see you after the class then?" 

I nodded as he came forward to kiss my head.

I walked to my locker to place my books. It was break time and I was hungry and exhuasted, after such a long time I finally remembered what school's really like.

"Eva hi"

I turned to see Nina standing next to me, a smile on her face as she attacked me with a hug.

"How are you?"

"I'm good but where wer you? Its like you were gone missing" I said.

"Oh its nothing I just had a few problems at home. I'm sorry I couldn't come visit you after you went home"

"Its fine Nina. Is everything okay?"

"Yea yea its okay now" she replied with a smile.

"Hey Eva-"

I turned to see Mason approaching me, he stopped a little distance away after seeing Nina.

"I should get going, I'll see you later?" She said and then without hearing my reply walked away.

"Lets go eat something" said Mason as he came towards me.

"What's going on between you and Nina?" I asked turning to him now.

"Nothing. Its all over now"

"What?"

He took in a deep breath as he looked away, trying to form words to say that wouldn't hurt him much.

"She came to me one day and said she didn't wanted us anymore, that she didn't like me anymore and its time if we should end it"

"I'm sorry Mason"

"She didn't even hear my thoughts on it, just told me and went away. Its funny that she stopped liking me while I started loving her."

We entered the cafeteria together, my eyes glancing for Carter. I looked over his usual table but he wasn't there.

"Hey"

I jumped away at the sudden voice.

"Carter you scared me" I said taking in a deep breath.

"Come and sit with me today" he said with a smile.

I glanced over his table, Haley with the other cheerleaders, popular guys that I wasn't so fond of. And besides I didn't want to leave Mason alone. I looked back at Carter and he could see my hesitation. His eyes boring into mine.

"If you don't want to its fine, I'll come over and sit with you guys" he said with a smile.

I looked over at Mason and he nodded slightly, telling me its okay to go.

"No its fine, I'll come sit with you" I said to Carter with a smile.

He grabbed my hand as Mason moved to our usual table. I don't know why but I felt nervous sitting with Carter's friends. They were not my kind of people neither was I like theirs. I felt insecure and wierd knowing I didn't belong here. Ans besides  Drake wasn't there, I could have relaxed if he was there, he always made me feel welcomed.

We reached the table and everyone stared at me, their eyes drilling holes inside me. I tried to ignore their gazes as Carter pulled out a chair for me.

"Hi" I said with a smile, hoping they won't notice my nervousness.

"Eva Evan's who would have thought?" Said a girl named Claire sitting on Haley's left.

I slowly sat down in the chair, feeling extremely awkward.

"How are you feeling now?" Asked a boy named Blake from beside me.

"I'm good now, thankyou" I replied.

"Its good to have you back and now that your Carter's girl that makes us friends. I'm Blake" he said with a cheeky grin and I couldn't help but feel better.

I took hold of his hand that he had held out while introducing himself.

"I'll go get our lunch" said Carter getting up.

"I'll come with you" I said getting up.

"No, its fine, you stay, I'll bring yours too"

I nodded and sat back down while he walked away. Nervousness settled in my stomach again with Carter's absence. I could feel people's eyes on me from all over the cafeteria. This was not my place, not my seat. I must be looking so odd here.

I could feel Haley's glare on me all the time as I tried to ignore her, the rest of Carter's friends didn't even acknowledge my existance as they ate their lunch and talked among themselves.

"Listen I don't want to be rude but Carter's my friend and we all care about him alot. So I want to ask you this and you need to answer it honestly." Said Claire suddenly.

I looked at her unsure of what to say and what she wants to ask me. She didn't wait for my reply.

"Are you with Carter because you really love hin or just the money?"

I stared at her dumbfounded.

"Wha...what?"

"We all know why girls like you are with Carter okay? We have seen hundreds come and go and honestly I have no idea why Carter chose you over any other girl he could have but I want to know-"

"Claire" warned Blake next to me but she didn't stop.

"Is it the popularity? Attention? Money?" She asked looking at me, daring me to answer.

I felt embarrased and humiliated, I couldn' believe people would think that I'm with Carter because of his status. My feelings felt insulted and I just wanted to leave. My cheeks reddened due to her words.

"Ignore Claire please she has never been good with new people" said Blake next to me.

I could see the smirk on Haley's face as Claire rolled her eyes.

"I really love Carter" I said looking Claire directly in the eyes. Hoping my message will go through.
