It had gotten pretty dark by now as I opened the passenger side door of Carter's car. Light wind was blowing around me, it was a little after eight. I rolled down the side window and stared out, feeling the wind on my face. Carter got in the driver's seat and started the car, reversing it out of the parking lot. I sneaked a look at him, his hair were ruffled as always, he used his hand to get them out of his eyes but it was of no use, they fell back, more scattered than before. His hazel eyes shinning in the dark, his face looking relaxed as he drive.

"What are you staring at Eva?" he asked with a smirk.

"Nothing" I replied quickly turning my gaze in front of me.

Why was I looking at him anyway? I've seen his face so many times before so why did it caught my eye now? I was going crazy, I could feel it in my veins. I had agreed on staying away from Carter so why was I doing the complete opposite of it right now?

Do I like Carter? I asked my self the question that I was trying so hard to avoid. I cannot like Carter, it just isn't right. We all know what happens if a girl falls for someone like Carter, the results are not good for the girl and he doesn't even see me in that way, he doesn't even see me as a friend. I am messed up right now thinking all these things that I shouldn't be thinking cause I am going to get nothing out of it except hurt.

"So the project" said Carter breaking into my thoughts.

"Yes the project, so I have finished the start part-"

"Are you hungry?" said Carter cutting in.

"No" I replied turning towards him. "I have eaten with my friends"

"How about something sweet?" He asked again looking at me and then turning his gaze back to the road.

I thought about it for a moment before saying:

"Ice cream, I'd like to eat ice cream."

Carter looked at me with a smile.

"Ice cream it is"

He took me an ice cream parlor nearby, I ordered chocolate while he opted for vanilla caramel. Instead of sitting inside the parlor we sat inside in his car. I liked it that way, just him and me. We talked about the project for awhile as we ate. He really was working on it which was a surprise cause I've never really seen Carter do any kind of work and he was also good. He gave me new ideas about how to make it better, it wasn't finished yet but it seemed like the project could get a decent grade. We just have to do the start again cause the one I wrote didn't really fit well with the rest and come up with a good conclusion to end it with. The rest was some what done, just needed to be checked for mistakes.

I took the last bite of the refreshing chocolate ice cream from my cup. we were sitting in silence now.

"Carter can I ask you something?" I said sitting a little straight.

He was looking out the window but turned towards me and nodded.

"Earlier in the cafeteria you kind of freaked out after hearing Kaiden is Henry's son. Can I know why? Is there something wrong with Henry? Is he a good pers-"

"There's nothing wrong with Henry, its his son who's a problem" said Carter.

He took the empty ice cream cup from my hand, his lightly touching mine. A shiver ran down my body at this touch. He opened the car door and stepped out, walking to a nearby trash can and dumped the waste there. I watched his movements as he did that, he looked like he was floating in air. After settling back in he started the car.

"You need to tell me why you don't like Kiaden" I said.

"I just don't" He replied.

"There has to be a reason"

"No specific reason Eva, I just don't like him and can we stop talking about him" he said frustrated.

I didn't say anything else after that.

"What's your favourite colour?" Said Carter after awhile.

I looked at him, surprised at this sudden answer.

"Blue, like the sky" I replied, then after a moment said:

"Yours?"

"Black"

"Of course" I said laughing a little.

"Predictable? Yea I like the way it attracts a person" said Carter a smile on his lips too.

"Have you thought about what your going to do after school?" I asked liking this new version of Carter where he wasn't fighting with or warning me about Kaiden.

"No, I haven't you?" He replied.

"Me neither, I don't know what I want to do with my life ahead, it even seems strange thinking about it let alone live it"

"We're here" said Carter stopping the car. I looked out the window and saw my front door, lights still on inside.

"Thank you" I said turning towards Carter.

He just nodded looking at me. I wanted to say something else or him to say something, any excuse to spend a few more moments together but seeing there wasn't anything I opened the door and stepped out.

"You know, we should do this again" said Carter and I turned to watch him.

"Hang out, just you and me"

His eyes bore into mine, the perfect hazel. A smile appeared on my lips and I nodded.

"Bye" I said and he waved me his hand. I closed the door and walked to the front steps of my house. Turning around I saw him watching me through the window as he started the car. He was waiting for me to go inside so he could then leave. Isn't that just so nice.

I opened the door and stepped inside to be greeted by my father and twins, standing in front of the door with their arms crossed.

"Well, well, well look who's back boys" said Alex, looking at me through his glasses.

"Coming late at night alone with Carter William, not in my house" said Daniel pointing his finger towards me.

"I think we need to go through some rules again" said my dad.

"Oh stop it, its just a little after nine, not a big deal" I replied to their dramatic reactions and headed towards the stairs to my room.

It was sunday today and I had nothing  to do. Ally and Mason were busy on their hangout...or date. Whatever they want to call it. I just hope it goes good for them. Dad had gone out with his friends leaving the three kids for me to take care of, so I couldn't go out either.

We were all sitting in the living room watching cartoons, the three heads in front of me completely absorbed in the television. Sitting on the couch I was slowly drifting of to sleep when I heard the door bell.

Groaning I stood up and walked to the door. Dad couldn't be back so early, so who was it? Maybe its Carter. My heart quickened a little at the thought of Carter coming to see me. I opened the door hopefully only to Jennifer standing in front of me.

"Hi" she said smiling.

"Hey" I replied surprised. It was a long time since I last saw her.

"Its been so long since we last met so I thought I'd come over" she said stepping towards me.

I was going to step aside to let her in when she suddenly hugged me, tightly. I hugged her back trying to keep on breathing.

"Where are the kids?" She asked me walking ahead.

"In the living room" I replied closing the door and following her.

She entered the room and greeted the kids, she seemed natural doing, from shaking Daniel's hand to telling Millie she looked beautiful, she looked just like a mom. It is sad she could never have her own kids, watching her fill the whole inside her with us I didn't really mind her being here.

"How's everything going?" She asked me, Millie sitting on her lap trying to open the present she gave her.

"Everything's good" I replied.

She reached into her bag and digged out a small box with a bow on top.

"This one's for you" she said handing it to me.

"You didn't have to do that" I said taking it from her hand.

"Oh come on its a small gift, I just thought we'll have matching bracelets.

I opened the box and saw a plain flower bracelet in it. Jennifer was wearing a same one. She took the bracelet from my hand and clasped it on my arm. It looked beautiful.

"Thankyou" I said with a smile.

She just smiled looking at me and then her gaze shifted to Daniel and Alex who were running around playing with their airplanes that she had brought.

"What's going on in here" came a voice from behind me.

I turned to see my mom standing in the doorway. Her eyes wandered from the twins to me to Jennifer with Millie in her lap.

"MOM!!!" Screamed the twins and ran towards her as she hugged them Jennifer stood up beside me.

"Hello" she said to my mom with a smile.

"Hi" replied my mom and then went forward to take Millie from her hands.

"So what were you all doing?" She asked looking at me.

"Nothing, I was just about to leave" said Jennifer reaching out to get her handbag from the couch.

"It was nice meeting you" she said to mom and then turned towards me.

"I'll come again, we'll make cookies like before"

I nodded and watched her going out the door.

"Make cookies? You never make cookies with me" said my mom sitting on thr couch.

"Your not around here" I replied.

"Next weekend your coming to dinner, there's also going to be Henry and Kaiden and we're all going to have a wonderful time.

"What!? No way Im not coming-"

"YES YOU ARE" said ny mother loudly, I can see the anger on her face.

"You don't get to do this Eva, get along with your father's new girlfriend but show attitude to Henry. Its unfair to him and to me"

My mom hasn't been angry like this for a long time. To say I was surprised watching her reaction was an understatement.

"And one more thing, keep the door locked no matter what"

I am standing in the parking lot waiting for Ally and Mason but none of them have showed up.

I leaned against a car and stared at the entrance waiting for any one of them two to show up. I looked as Carter's car rolled in. He went to his usual parking spot and parked it. The passenger side door opened and Caroline stepped out. Carter got out to and his eyes shifted to mine, instantly. I felt my cheeks heating up at being caught again. But he did something unusual, he looked at me and smiled. For a moment I was frozen but quickly recovered myself and smiled back.

Ally and Mason both didn't show up, they must have stayed out late and were now fast asleep in their beds. I had to spend the day trying to come up with ways to kill them for leaving me alone. On a school day!!

Right now I was in the school washroom humming a song that was stuck in my mind for a long time now when the door outside slammed open and I heard footsteps and a sniff.

Someone was crying.

"I can't believe this, she's hasn't even been here for a month and she already has him"

It was Haley, the one who was talking and crying, it was strange to hear her cry. I hope they don't notice me in here.

"Haley get a grip of yourself, try to relax"
This was Diana.

"Relax? I feel like killing someone" said Haley.

"Haley are you sure about it? What if you were mistaken?"

"Diana there was no mistake in this, Caroline herself told me that she and Carter are back together, THEY'RE DATING AGAIN" shouted Haley and ran out of the washroom.

I was frozen still after hearing this. Carter and Caroline back together? No  this can't be, it just can't happen. Why would Carter go back to Caroline. I felt disappointed towards Carter but that wasn't the only thing I was feeling, I felt angry and....and....hurt? I shoke my head and got out of the toilet. What does Carter even see in Caroline, sure she's pretty and all but there's nothing special. She is a mean, selfish prick.

I cleaned my hands and groaned. Carter and Caroline both came to school together today ofcourse they were dating again. I couldn't help but feel my anger rise. I took a deep breath and walked out of the washroom. Im not going to think about this, im just not. Cause it doesn't matter, Carter William doesn't matter.

HERE IS ANOTHET CHAPTER FOR ITS NOT REALLY AS GREAT AS I WANTED IT TO BE BUT I COULDN'T COME UP WITH SOMETHING ELSE.
