The soldiers stood there, scared on the field

Fearing gravely for their life

We remember the bravery that they held

And for withholding all their strife

At home, the women stood there alone

Waiting. Scared and sad

We remember the sacrifices they made

So our lives can all be glad

The children stood there, clutching their bags

Waiting for what was in store

We remember them being evacuated

And shaken to the core

And when the war was done and the fighting had ceased

Not everyone was entirely free

We remember those who continue to fight

Today for you and me

We remember these people every year

And though sadness may fill our hearts

We are grateful for the sacrifices they made

So our lives could all restart

So every year on Remembrance day

Please try not to grieve

But be thankful for the soldiers and remember-

Remember and don't be naive
