Mirror, mirror

Who sits in a lawn chair in her garage? Mahibelle. Mahibelle does. Or, as her friends like to call her, Bell. And for three days this weekend, this is where she will sit.

Sooo boooring...

A middle-aged woman in strange old-fashioned attire comes into the garage with her hair pulled back and a purse swung over her shoulder. Like anyone else who has come by, she's browsing the garage sale that Bell's family had set up.

"What price do you have on this, here?" The woman asks, bent over and looking at the old mirror leaned up against a table.

"Five dollars I believe," Bell responds, momentarily looking up from her phone to peek at the pink sticker on the frame of the mirror.

"In that case, I'll buy it." The woman goes to Bell and hands her a five dollar bill. The teen takes it and places it in the case that had been collecting money throughout the garage sale.

With this, the woman goes and grabs the mirror, putting it under her arm and grasping it with both hands to keep it steady. Bell catches a glimpse of her reflection in the glassy surface as the woman turns to leave. That old piece of junk had lived in the basement of her families home ever since they moved back when Bell was five. It never got hung up on the wall, and just leaned against the wall in a corner to keep it out of the way. She remembers playing with the reflection when she was a child. She would dress-up and the reflection was another character in her imaginative story. Sometimes it would be a witch she would have to defeat, or another princess that she had a spot of tea with.

The woman walks down the driveway, taking that old mirror with her. Bell wouldn't be missing it, that's for sure. As she's grown up from her childish ways the mirror has started to creep her out. She refused to go into the living room with the mirror in the dark for a straight year. And now she just wanted that old thing gone and never to be seen again. Because, all of it was just her imagination. The reflection could never harm her, even though it sometimes felt as if it could.
