I open my eyes and look at my calendar and notice that it's my first day of my new school. I groan as I close my eyes again

"Abby!! Get up!" My mother yell

"In a minute!" I yell back and put the pillow over my face

"GET UP NOW!!" My father yells

I groan as I throw the blankets off of me and roll out of bed. Then I slowly stand up "I'm up!!"

"Good! Now, go take your shower and get dressed! You are going to have to eat on the bus!" My parents yell

I frown as I walk into my bathroom, undress, put the towels on the bathroom counter, and climb into the shower. I turn on the shower and stand there the water running down my body. I quickly finish my shower and get dressed which was a black dress with flowers all over it and black sandals. I grab my backpack, phone, headphones, laptop which I put in my backpack, and rush down stairs

"Here." My mother hands me an apple not looking at me but at her laptop

"Bye, love you!" I say as I walk outside. I put on my headphones and the play the song "Everyone's Fools" by Evanescence then when I get to the bus stop which was like a few steps away from my house; I bump into someone

"Sorry!" A male's voice says as we both bend down to pick up each other's stuff

"It's okay." I pause my music "I should've been paying attention." I hand him his books

"It's my fault." He looks at my notebook and I bite my lip. "Did you draw this?" He shows me a drawing of mountains and a sunset

"Yes, that is where I would always hang out with my friends. Well, when I lived in Cardiff." I sigh as he hands me my notebook

"I'm Peter." He holds out his hand

"I'm Abby." I shake his hand

"You must be new, it's a small town here and you end up knowing everyone here. And you have an accent that I like." He smiles

I blush "it's a Walsh accent and thank you. Yeah, I'm new; my parents and I were staying at a friend's house while we were waiting for our new house."

He nods "I like it. Where do you live? I live right there." He points to the house next to mine

"I'm your neighbor." I point to the house to my left

"Fantastic! We can hang out more and I can show you around."

I smile widely "thank you."

A girl that has blonde hair, blue eyes, tan skin, and is very skinny walks over to us. "Who are you talking to Peter? Why would you talk to a redhead?"

I look at my shoes frowning my red hair falling into my face. The girl is way more prettier compared to my red hair, green eyes, tan skin, swimmer's body, and my really skinny body

"Because I can talk to whoever I want, Becky." He looks at Becky "and I like Abby, she's new."

"I can tell. She is definitely not from around here." She puts her hands on her hips "now, Abby or whatever your name is. I'm gonna give you advice, make the right decision and become friends with the right people. You don't wanna be the new laughing stock like Mary."

I nod "alright. But I can do whatever I want Becky, I'm not scared of you."

"You should." She smirks and the school bus drives up to us before stopping. "Good luck newbie." She walks onto the bus bumping into me which caused me to drop my notebook and phone

"Oi!" I yell

She turns to me "oh, I'm so so sorry. I should've been paying attention or you should stay out of my way."

Petter picks up my stuff and hands it to me "sorry about her. She's my stepsister and she can be a jerk. How about you sit with me on the bus?"

"O-okay, thank you." I smile blushing deeply as he grabs my hand. We walk onto the bus

"Hey! It's the new kid!" A few kids yell, some laugh, some look up, some smile at me and wave, and others just whisper to each other. I notice Becky whispering to two girls

"Don't let Becky and her friends get to you." He says as we sit down at the back of the bus. "Do you like it Maine so far?"

"Yes and no. Like I love Maine and all but I really miss Cardiff." I sigh

"Well, if you need help with anything don't hesitate to ask." He smiles

"Thank you." I smile back and we talk about my life in Cardiff on the way to school

Once we got to the school and into the cafeteria waiting to be released I hug him "thank you again. I have to go to the office now but I hope to see you again."

He hugs back "I know that you will."

I pull away "it was a pleasure meeting you Peter."

"The pleasure was all mine Abby." He smiles and I walk away heading to the office

Everything is going to be fine... right?
