Act 35; I can tell you're a player ;)
After a long day passed, Ren decided to call Oikawa. Strange, isn't it? She really did despise him the first time they had met, and now... she kind of needed him.
Ring... Ring...
Ren hastily placed the phone over her ear, come on... pick up. She literally stood in front of Aoba Johsai. It was the place they decided to meet. Only, the heroine was stuck picking the school prince up.
"Hello?"
"Ah, Oikawa-kun," Ren sighed, "I'm here."
"I can tell," he waved her down from the other side of the road, girls practically all over him. Ren waved back pretty nervously. Who wouldn't? He seemed busy enough.
-Call Disconnected-
Although they had all been giving him all sorts of treats, Ren wanted to disrupt them just as much. She looked side to side, observing the cars that passed by. She then took a step into the road, and crossed until she made it over. She was stuck wearing her odd uniform, which grabbed almost the amount of attention Oikawa had been getting. He wasn't even trying to get away from it all.
That was until a school bag had smacked him hard on the back of his head, making all the girls scream in terror. "You have a meeting, Trashikawa! What are you doing wasting time?!"
"Mean, Iwa-chan!" The brunette yelled out in pain, and rubbed the back of his skull. The one and only Iwaizumi Hajime had arrived- great.
No, seriously; now that the ace of Seijoh had been here, might as well ask, right? "Iwaizumi-kun?" Ren smiled, causing everyone to turn towards her, including the two males. "Mind tagging along? It'd kind of be weird if I were, um, alone with this guy..." Oikawa felt a pang of hurt stab his chest, "why would that be weird?!"
"I don't mind," the one named Iwa-chan replied, dodging the brunette's stupid comment. "Don't ignore me, Iwa-chan!"
"Thank you so much! I thought you would be busy or something," Ren gave a heartwarming smile before Oikawa let out a childish whine. "Not you too, Yoshi-chan-"
"Shut up!" The other two snapped at him at the same time, causing then to look at each other and giggle. The captain then cringed at the sight of these two, eww. Iwa-chan got someone to sync with him almost too well, he then crossed his arms and started to walk off, that was only supposed to be me.
"O-oi, wait up!" Ren beckoned Iwaizumi to follow, leaving all of Oikawa's fan girls in the dust with dead panned expressions. After a bit of walking side by side, Oikawa snapped his fingers as in to an idea popping into his mind. "So why did you decide to have a meeting? Is it really alright if I tag along?" The raven haired male asked, a little curious into what the topic was.
Oikawa couldn't possibly have her like him? What if they were dating and he had no clue about it? No, that couldn't be the cause; no way in hell. Iwaizumi needed Oikawa to taste the bitterness of rejection and the gym floors. Literally.
"Not at all, Iwaizumi-kun." Ren grinned, looking around as the things started to look more and more familiar. "Where are we going, Oikawa-kun?"
"This really good coffee place."
"Is it the one you always take Kindaichi and I to?" Iwaizumi asked, as he remembered all the times their captain had lost bets and had to buy them all sorts of things. Good times they were. "Yeah, it's that one, Iwa-chan."
Ren started to get the feeling it was the place she thought it was, oh no... As they all approached the shop, Oikawa opened the door. "Here we are, Hoshiyamakohi!" Ren groaned, of course. How did I not see this?
What the heck, is this everyone's ideal hangout. But all the girl could do was pray that that lady hadn't been there.
Alas, she was, and to Ren's luck, she had been serving them as well. "May I take your orders?" The waitress then smiled at the 15 year old, indicating that she, very well, recognized her. Looking deeper at her features, Ren really did not notice that she seemed very foreign. Maybe Russian?
The lady had very light coloured, pastel hair. Ren couldn't anticipate on what the colour was though. She also had light eyes, either blue or green; the girl couldn't tell that much either. Waitress-san had a very normal like build, estimating she was about in her early twenties or late teens. "Um, Yoshida?" Iwaizumi tapped her shin from under the table with his foot, snapping her out of her thoughts. "Y-yes!?"
"The nice lady wants to take your order; my, how dense you are." Oikawa teased, as Ren mumbled her next sentence, "vanilla bean mocha, w-with some whip cream, please." Waitress-san bowed, as she walked into the distance. It had been followed by a very awkward silence that Seijoh's ace decided to break. "So, what were you guys here to talk about?"
"Erm- well.... It's kind of complicated, you see," she bit her lip, "I may need to tell you the entire story before hand, so it may be easier, to tell you the-"
"Kyaa! Is that Oikawa Tooru?"
"No way, it can't be! Not at a commoners place like this."
"Let me see, let me see!"
"Gosh, it is! Oh my god he is looking at us!"
"Take a picture- do it quickly!"
"Is he waving at us?!"
"Kyaaaa! Oikawa, we love you!"
Ah, yes, there he was. The model like human being had been waving to his fangirls across the shop. The aura of the cafe changed, and it made the three girls sit back down, a little frightened by the atmosphere that had mixed with the other one. Iwaizumi reached for the napkin holder, and Ren popped a vein.
"I-I was just kidding, Iwa-chan!" He then begged for the male not to hit him with it. The black headed male of Aoba Johsai then sighed, placing the item back down. "You were saying?"
"It may be a little long..."
"I'll say it then," the brunette stuck his tongue out, "Yoshi-chan is asking me for some advice."
"..." It stayed silent before Iwaizumi bursted into laughter. "You; ask him for advice?! That's crazy!"
"No it isn't. I was the best option, unlike you, Ewwwa-chan."
"Why would you ask Trashikawa for advice out of all people out there?"
"Because unlike you, I actually talked to a girl."
"Um, well so did I."
"Who is it? Your mom doesn't count."
"Um... Oikawa-kun, I count as a girl..." Ren spoke out, a little embarrassed. "Wait, Yoshi-chan, I didn't mean it that way-"
"I'll never forgive you... I thought you were better than that." The girl sniffed, crying comical tears. "Shittykawa, look what you've done!"
"W-wait, I am better than that-" Before he could defend his position anymore, Iwaizumi still ended up throwing the napkin holder at his head, and this made Ren chuckle. "Ow... Mean, how mean, Iwa-chan." He winced in pain, rubbing his forehead before the waitress came with their drinks. Taking theirs, she bowed and took her leave.
Ren noticed that there was a note attached to the drink itself, and decided to open it up. It read, I can tell you're a player ;)
Before she could finish, she crumpled it up and threw it across the room. "What was that?" Iwaizumi asked, sipping on his soft drink. She took a huge slurp out of her mocha and had a red face plastered on her, "nothing..."
After a little while of Ren explaining the situation to Iwaizumi, he couldn't help but feel relieved. Well, yeah, he was rooting Oikawa on... a little. He hasn't been this sincere to a girl ever since his last breakup. Then again, the floors will be shining with Oikawa's self respect. He didn't know which side to choose.
But if Ren liked someone already, there is no exception, is it wrong? "Listen, it seems like you're trying too hard," Iwa-chan finished the last of his drink, "if your friend really did like you, she wouldn't care as long as you don't try and ruin her chance. So what if she finds out? I think she would appreciate it more if you told her the truth about things, and how you actually feel." Oikawa ate the last bit of his milk bread, he didn't know that his ace could be so... wise. "You don't get it..." Ren started, "she said she wouldn't be my friend if I ever did like him, which, I do.
"Plus, I get really jealous when she acts all girly in front of him... I mean, I can't do that at all!" She mumbled the last part. Iwa-chan sighed, "look around you, Yoshida. Everyone is here, and no one will judge you based on the person you want as your significant other. If it doesn't work out then, well, to hell with him." Oikawa listened closely. He knew that Ren wanted different opinions so that maybe she can combine them into this one great solution.
"Also, you're actually pretty great, I'm pretty sure a few guys on your team like you." Her face turned a little rosy with that and Oikawa cooed, "how gross~" The raven haired male then turned a little red as well, "sh-shut up, Garbagekawa!"
"Garbagekawa? That's a new one, Iwa-chan." And this conversation ended up with Iwaizumi throwing the plate at Oikawa, and some money being lost.
--
"I barely got to say anything, Iwa-chan!" Oikawa waved bye to the first year who started to walk home from the area she told them to stop at. Hell, she didn't want them to see what or where her house was, so she told them to halt around where Tsukishima, Yamaguchi and her would split up. Iwaizumi crossed his arms, "that's because you had nothing to say." The brunette then stuck his tongue out and winked at the third year, "that's actually true."
Iwa-chan was about to open his mouth to say something more, before Oikawa said something in his stead. "You're probably going to ask if I like her." The black haired male's eyes widened with the sentence, but he gave a reassuring nod, "that, and the reason why you're not upset."
"Why would I be upset?" The captain watched as the first year's figure faded in the distance. "I thought you liked her-"
"No, Iwa-chan." Oikawa grinned, "I'm not entirely sure."
"Then why aren't you upset?" Oikawa started to walk in his direction of home, clenching the sports bag he had on, "if feeling a little bad about hearing her ramble on about this mystery guy makes me upset, then yes, Iwa-chan. I'm kind of upset." Iwaizumi steadied his pace behind his captain, before getting a brilliant idea. "Maybe you're just mad you can't make her your fan girl, and now, you have to clean the gym floor for a month worth-"
"Yeah, I guess I will." Iwaizumi then popped a vein, and kicked him from behind. "Ouch! Why did you do that-" before Oikawa could continue, he got a little frightened by the male's aura. "What the hell? That's called liking someone! How could you possibly give advice without knowing what the hell it is for?" His voice raised, and this made Oikawa drop his shoulders.
"She speaks about him so highly... I don't think I have a chance-"
"To hell with chances, Oikawa! Of course she doesn't like you- see how you're acting? Pathetic," he spat back, before putting his hand out for the brunette to grab, making the male on the ground a little confused. "What happened to being Oikawa Tooru, of course? I don't see him right now," he started, "I dare you to grab this hand for support and not try, Shittykawa." Oikawa stayed silent for a bit and then giggled for a second, grabbing the third year's hand. "What is it?"
"Oh, nothing... I thought you would be against the idea and all."
"Yeah, but I'd like to see you serious again," he smiled, as he started walking off. "W-wait, Iwa-chan!"
In a way, Yoshida and Oikawa don't make a bad match.
