Chapter One
Dear Readers.
This is Dovewing70 here to talk about a story of which you never heard of before, about a blind dog sharing love, hope, belief, and Joy into everyone's lives. And showing a side to rescuing dogs that has never been showed before. Before this happened in 2011, 75% of all households that acquired a dog chose not to adopt. The #1 reason stems from the negative views of Having a shelter pet(s).
Shelter animals are not broken.
Her is one story about a animal. A Journey.
This is a story about Hope.
This dog name is Jake, and this is his story of adoption. He is a wonderful dog and when you look at him you wouldn't believe what I am about to tell you.
He is blind.
He was born blind and lived in California. When Rescueres found him, he was wandering the streets. Alone. Scared. Helpless.
He was taken to a shelter where some Hope for him to live was at, but he was a low adoptable rate. Most people want a healthy dog not a blind one. Sad as that sounds, it is true. Look at yourself. Do you want to take care of a blind dog or a dog that can see you? Be honest and answer in the comments.
Later, his owners came to find him in the shelter. Seeking him out....you think this story is about to end? Nope, his owners wouldn't "Adopt" him again with or without the minimal fee. They said these exact words....
"He's Not Worth It."
The mimimal fee was Twenty Dollars to save his life. This story sounded like it was going to have a tragic ending of Uthinization.
But nope, one brave officer contacted Tera who was the director of the Doggie Protective Services. They had a conversation of adoption or fostering poor Jake. Then the officer told Tera, "He's blind."
Tera decided to give him a chance, by becoming Jake's foster mom. In the video above, Tera talks and talks about how wonderful Jake is. Now do you want to adopt him?
Well too bad, he was already adopted by Heidi. A wonderful woman who was not so ready to take Jake in. But kept visiting every day for three weeks. Got to admit she was persistant.
When she adopted him, after knowing he was blind, she saw a wondeful realtionship that blossumed between her and Jake.
Jake now is getting around by himself, he knows where it is safe, he has stairs, and he has other dogs to help him learn. "Brothers" as Heidi told Hope for Tails.
He does sometimes has misfortune of falling from high places but recovers and is back to his energetic self.
He has opened up so many eyes, like Heidi, to rescue animals for the love he has shared, for the love and hope of adoption. Many people now rescue animals, not by one dogs rescue but because of a story of Hope and Love.
If you want me to keep going on about joys and good deeds people and animals have done. I really do Hope you share and spread the love this story holds.
Go.
Make a difference today.
It will show how much you've done.
And please watch the video of Jake's story.
Thank you and.....
Howl on.
Love,
Dovewing70.
