Tick Tock Tick Tock
That's all I've been hearing the past hour and a half now. Perks of owning my own business, is that I'm my own boss; Cons well you never truly get a day off.
Upon checking the time and seeing it was nearly midnight, I finally decided to call it a night.
It was yet another late night at the shop and I just wanted to get home and into my loving bed. Between my usual work stress, life in general and (Alt) keeping me up the past few nights, sleep hasn't been coming easily for me. In fact it was almost nonexistent. Hopefully tonight I can catch some sleep. I gathered up some paperwork and gave the shop one last walk through.
Though tonight I felt that there was a heaviness in the air, something uncommon in the shop. I felt like someone was with me. Who am I kidding, I always have someone with me. 'Shush..ya know you love me. And what is it Y/N? Want me to have a looksie?' "Haha funny. And no...don't. It's probably nothing." I answered back silently.
Most of our conversations were just spoken in my own mind, but occasionally, especially if I was alone, I would speak outwardly to her.
'Aww...your no fun anymore!' "Well tough (alt), you'll have to get over it. I'm trying to ma..AH OWW" I soon felt a jarring pain in my gut, causing me to curl over in pain and continue our conversation out loud. "Oww! (ALT)! What the h*ll was that for?!" 'Tell me to get over something again.' She deadpanned, pausing for a moment before continuing. 'Shhh...someone's watching.' "Wait what? Who? And where are they?"
I began spinning around, looking left and right for the stranger, but I came up with nothing but empty shadows and darkness. 'Stop twirling around! You're making me sick and your giving away our advantage, doll. If anything happens, I will be forced to come out. You know that?' "I know (alt)...just please don't kill anyone. And...be careful." 'I got you hun. And when am I not?!' She mused sarcastically, making me roll my eyes internally.
I carefully peered over every inch of my little store until I knew for sure that there was absolutely no one in here. Though I still felt as if someone was watching me, but I've seen zero signs of life in here. I brushed it off as nerves and just (Alt)'s and my own lack of proper rest.
Alter ego or not...I don't know what I'd do without her. ('Eww...no. You're gross! You know how I feel about this lovey-dovey sh*t.'/"I love you too" )
A/N: the () above is interchangeable. Basically you choose who says which! I'm personally the "eww.." & feel that my (Alt) would be 'ILY'. But this way you can decide!
I decided it was definitely time to leave the shop for good tonight. Upon stepping out into the brisk, chilly night, my blood ran cold. I felt like eyes were on me, but again I simply shook it off as stress and restlessness.
I turned the lock and double checked to make sure it was locked. Upon whirling around and stepping further into the street, I came face to face with a man.
He was wearing a wicked smile that reeked of trouble. He had one neon green eye and the other was an icy blue. I let out a shriek at his sudden appearance and quickly retreated, but I found something blocked my way all too soon, well rather someone. How did he get behind me so quickly, I thought. (Alt) stayed silent.
There was now another man locking me in a death grip from behind, as the one in front only laughed menacingly and stepped closer, trapping me at the entryway of my shop.
"AHHH...LET ME GO! PLEASE. I SWEAR I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING. JUST LET ME GO!" I yelled loudly. I felt (alt) glaring inside me, just waiting to attack. I silently spoke to her. "No! Not yet. Please not yet (alt)." 'Stay on guard Y/N. They're more than just usual trouble.'
The man behind me tightened his grip and bellowed at me in a deep and husky voice. "Shut up princess! And Nahhh...! We just wanna have a little fun! See?!" He ended with a deep chuckle before raising a large blade and waving it tauntingly in front of my face. "We'll have fun ripping you to pieces!"
"NOOO..! Get off me! Please! I won't tell anyone! I'll..I'll...here. Please take the keys to my shop. Take whatever you want! Just please let me go!" They continued laughing and instigating me further.
I saw my distraction and took the opportunity to toss my shop keys at the green haired man whilst elbowing the man behind me. I ran out into the empty alleyway. I ran as fast and hard as my feet would allow. I peered over my shoulder to see if they were following, in which the green haired man was walking towards me, glaring daggers. His lip now bleeding, assumingly from my shop keys.
I beckoned my feet to move faster as I turned my head back in the direction I was running towards. Then I came to a sudden halt as I hit a solid wall of a body and fell backwards. I was dazed for a moment, almost seeing stars, but that quickly cleared as I was hoisted upon my feet in one swift motion.
Again I was back in the large man's unforgiving grasp. Only now the cold blade was placed dangerously upon my throat and his seething breath was making my hair move at the back of my head.
"I'm sorry...plea..." I choked out with a barely audible voice before being cut of by his bellowing tone.
"Enough! I don't want you to open that pretty mouth of yours again until I'm making you scream in agony. Do. You. Understand. Me?" I flinched slightly at his tone and screwed my eyes shut. Wishing and hoping it was all a dream...no a nightmare.
I felt my sanity crumbling, I knew (Alt) was itching for a release. I shuddered at the possible results of that outcome. I slowly opened my eyes and instantly locked them with the green haired man's piercing gaze. He looked less than amused by Hulk's actions. 'Hulk?' "Yes...Hulk. The burly *sshole with a knife to my throat". I continued staring into the man's eyes, looking for the smallest glimpse of remorse.
I slowly began to speak. "Listen...I'm going to get really angry...You won't like me angry. Please? Just let let me go..." My voice was begging them, for their own good, but my eyes flashed F/C before I pinched them close and and I felt them returning to their normal color.
The green haired man saw them and backed away in shock. The man behind me, on the other hand, took me by the hair and tossed me against the brick wall. I hit my head with a thud. Ok...that hurt. I heard him quickly approaching and did the only thing I could...
"(alt)...now..." I breathed almost silently, but I knew she heard.
Finally! And I'm going to kill these fuc..' "(Alt)! please?!" 'Fine...'
With a thin stream of blood trickling down my forehead, I turned to face the b*stards. My eyes began flickering and then everything went black.
(Alt's) POV
I blinked my eyes to adjust to the lighting, but soon found the helpless b*stards staring at me in awe. I knew my eyes were shining there brightest shade of F/C, as I was furious. I smirked wickedly as my gaze quickly shifted between the two strange men. I knew instantly that they, like myself, were also alters.
The larger man dressed in black, Hulk as Y/N deemed him, lunged forward. I quickly dodged sending him straight for for the wall he had previously tossed me into. The other man quickly followed suit. He also tried to get a hold of me. We fought back and forth a bit, before I spun around kicking him hard in the gut. He went flying backward, hitting the wall forcefully, and slumped down slightly.
Instantly, I was grabbed once more by the second man. Now with me in control, rather than Y/N, he quickly lost his grip. I elbowed him and turned fight him, but with a simple flick of his wrist he had me pinned against the brick wall next to his recovering buddy.
My eyes widened in shock and I mumbled out my questions of awe. "Yo..you can do that?". The neon green-eyed fool looked over to me with his wicked smile, still panting heavily and holding his torso in pain.
"Yes...you're still young. You have a lot to learn." I scoffed at the little sh*t. Young?! He didn't look much older himself.
I was about to make a comment, but had to leap into action as the other moron was heading towards me once again.
I stood and regained my footing. And I went to hit him, but he swiftly grabbed my arms and pinned me against the brick wall. Leaving barely an inch between us and our fueled hate. He glared at me evilly and I returned it with the same fever. With my attempts of escaping his grip turning up empty, I spat in his face. Instantly I saw his eyes grew darker than their already pitch black shade.
"You little b*tch! I'm gonna take my time with you! You will feel every d*mn slice and stab from this blade!"
"Dark?! Stop.." the green haired man breathed.
"Shut up Anti!" He shouted in the direction of the green haired man. Anti? Strange name, but suppose mines no stranger? Dark, I presume is his name, then turned his attention back towards me. "And you! By the time I'm done you will wish that we'd just killed you. Only then I'll rip your beating heart out! Do you hear me?!"
His words didn't phase me. I saw him fuming even more from my lack of response. He latched his hands to my throat. Instead of fighting like he expected, I simply smiled and kneed him in the balls.
With one simple movement the tables turned. I flipped him around, so he was pinned to the wall. I now had his throat wrapped in my tight grip and it was clear, that he was scared. I raised my blade and my eyes flickered menacingly. I wanted nothing more than to kill him, but Y/N was practically screaming at me. That's when I heard the other idiot, Anti, stand up.
"Stop! Please! W...we weren't gonna hurt you!" He said in a rather loud voice. And was that an Irish accent? I didn't catch his accent the first time he spoke.
"Well that's funny considering the situation we're in, now isn't it?!" I scoffed and tightened my already deadly grip on the larger man and his thick neck. He tried struggle away, but to no avail. I looked back at the Irish man.
Anti's eyes seemed to be locked on mine. Like he was searching for something. Or as though he lost himself. I couldn't help, but loosen my grip as I looked back at him. What is this man doing?
My thoughts were broken and I snapped back to reality as Dark pushed away from me, but I quickly threw him back! Causing them both to gasp. I was p*ssed and adrenaline had consumed me.
"Hey...Please don't kill him! He..he's all I got. You can walk away! I promise..." By the look in the his green and blue eyes, I could see they held truth and I would've happily accepted his offer. I truly would've, had his idiot of a friend not opened his d*mded mouth.
"Anti, shut it! I'm going to kill this little b*t...AGHH...F*CK YOU!" I twisted his arm, as he wouldn't shut up.
I leaned forward and whispered straight into his ear. "Sorry *sshole, but you're not my type." I pulled away with a wicked grin. Then I turned to this Anti fellow and sent him a wink. "But your friend here is." I chuckled leaving them both in a silent, awestruck gaze.
The man with the coal black eyes, Dark, was trying once again to overpower me. In the end I had him pinned to the wall defenseless with my blade to his throat. He wasn't going anywhere unless I allowed it.
I heard a choked back yell from the other man, Anti. And was he...crying? I turned to him immediately, my F/C eyes shining brightly. I was ready to kill the man in my grasp, but I was taken back by Anti's teary-eyed gaze. I had found my weakness, something new to me. I had never been affected by someone crying before, but with Anti...I would've stopped the world in that moment to make him smile.
"Please...Take me instead. I'll have nothing. Pl..please just don't kill him." I then saw a tear stream down his face and felt instant remorse. I wanted nothing more than to remove the tears from his face. Y/N's ways are wearing on me, I see, but I didn't care. I took in what was happening. Anti begging me, Dark's fearful gaze & his heart racing in my tight grip and then Y/N screaming in my ear. It was ask too much. It was then I realized I couldn't kill him.
Turning my attention to Anti, I began to speak. "That's...that's very courageous of you. Your a selfless man. Valiant. I respect that Anti. I'm sorry..." I saw a mixture of relief and disbelief wash over his face. His red, puffy eyes were thank you enough.
I turned my attention back to the man in my now loosened grip and snapped my fingers in front of his face. Instantly getting his attention, I spoke an ancient language. An ancient spell, more specifically. He instantly fell limp in my arms, to which I let him fall to ground with a thud. Not caring to set him down carefully.
"Noooo...! Wh... What did do to him?! No no no! Dark! Please?!" Anti screamed rushing to his side, causing me to step back.
"He's only sleeping. He'll be out for a few hours though." I said bluntly. Anti placed Dark in a more comfortable position after realizing I had indeed spoken truthfully.
"I thought you killed him. He...He's the only friend I have...Just nevermind. You can go." He said kneeling next to Dark. I smirked at his reaction.
"Like I said, he'll be awake in a few hours. He'll have a Hell of headache though!" I snickered. "But it's only a sleeping spell, nothing more."
"How did you? I didn't know that you could do that?" Anti asked in shock. Standing to face me. I rolled my eyes.
"Yes...you're still young. You have a lot to learn." I said mimicking his exact words from earlier. I smiled.
He smiled weakly and nodded. "Thank you..." he said in what one could hardly call a whisper. It was incredibly soft and truthful. Something he didn't say often for sure.
I let out a deep sigh and leveled the man a genuine look. "Listen Anti? I want to know why the h*ll you two jumped me? Do you think I wanted this?" My voice raising as I gestured around us.
"I...I'm sorry." He said looking away from me. "I truly am. It's just this is our only free time. The only time we can come out is when they're sleeping. You just came by at the wrong time. Normally we're not as forceful. If we knew that you...we're like us, we'd never made that mistake." I stared at him, just taking in his words. There was a moment of silence before he spoke again. "Just thank you...for not killing him. He's all I got in this world." I only nodded seeing the way he looked down at his friend, Dark. They had a brotherly bond. Something not easily broken. Kinda how Y/N and I are, though she couldn't get rid of me if she tried.
One thing that struck me though was two small words he had used. What has he meant be free time?
"Oh..I see. And it's ok." Another moment of silence passed between us in the chilly night wind. "Anti?" His eyes shifted to mine. I couldn't help, but get lost in them. They were unlike any other I've ever seen before. 'What are looking at?' Y/N asked. 'Nothing, just forget it.' '(Alt)..do you think he's...cute?' 'What?! No! Why would you think that. I'm not like you Y/N.' 'Well..minus the creepy eyes and him attacking me...He's actually pretty cute. And he has an accent!' I could practically hear her drooling. 'Eww..stop doing whatever you're doing. And his eyes are...Never mind. We shou..' I was soon cut off by the Anti calling me and looking at me worriedly.
"He..hey? Miss? I..umm..are you ok?" Anti said slowly inching towards me wearing that worried look.
"I'm sorry. I..I..Y/N was talking to me." I quickly sputtered. 'Sure sure blame me!' 'Shut up! He's talking! You're making me look like an idiot.'
"Y/N? Is that her name?" I nodded. "Ok. What's your name, if you don't mind?" His worry was replaced by confusion. Does he have a facial expression that's NOT attractive? 'Probably not.' 'Y/N! Yo..you weren't supposed to hear that!' 'Welcome to my world (Alt).'
"I'm...(Alt)" I said shyly. I'm acting weird.
'Y/N? What's wrong with me?' 'You have a crush. It's that simple (Alt).' 'I don't crush. I don't feel?! I..I can't feel?'
"(Alt)...? That's a beautiful name. I mean Y/N's a pretty name too, but (Alt) it...it suits you." Anti spoke softly, I almost missed it. But I heard every mesmerizing word. I felt an odd burning sensation on my cheeks, but brushed it off as nothing.
'Are you blushing?!' 'What?! No?! Wait what's that?' 'Your cheeks are bright red and hot, aka you think he's cute.' I had nothing to say in return, not right now anyways.
I cleared my throat before speaking. "Oh...umm...Thank you. So Anti, what did you mean 'free time'?" I was desperate to change the subject and that was still a burning question I had.
"Oh...well that's what's going on now. I'm out; I'm free. I'm Sean's alter, so when he goes to sleep, I come out. He'd try to get rid of me otherwise. I'm actually surprised I've kept it a secret for so long..." his words trailed off as he went into deep thought. He breathed out a heavy sigh before continuing. "Dark's the same way. He's Mark's alter and Mark would destroy him if he knew. I'm sure it's not much different for you." He said. My eyebrows knitted together in confusion.
"Wait they...They don't let you guys out? Why not?" I questioned.
"Because we're...well I don't know? Because we're aren't like them, we're dangerous, stronger, their opposite, the other half? I honestly don't know (Alt). But doesn't Y/N make you stay hidden most of the time? Or unless she needs you?" He asked.
We sat on the sidewalk and leaned against the wall, a few feet from Dark. There I explained how Y/N and I had formed an agreement. She would allow me to my freedom when I wanted, so long as I behaved well and we respected each other's lifestyles. His eyes lit up as I told him how free I was compared to his life; if it could be called that.
I felt something that came rarely for me, sadness. Anti lived his life tucked in the mind of another. Sean had scolded him for existing. He tried to banish him forever, thankfully with know luck. I wished that there was something I could do, but I knew nothing. Instead I asked him to come back to the shop periodically. At the very least, he and Dark could interact with someone of their own kind. And myself as well. Truthfully I'd neve met an alter before. For me it was a learning experience and maybe the beginning of a friendship.
I turned towards him and took his hand into my own. "Anti? This may come across strangely, but please come back to Y/N's shop every now and then? After getting to to speak with you, you're a really good guy. I'm sure Dark is as well. Plus...I don't know. Just think about it please?" I said with a hopeful smile.
"I'd love to (Alt). I'm not sure how Dark here will take it, but I'll convince him that your ok." We both chuckled.
"Really? Thank you Anti..." I said lowly. I lowered my head and quickly removed my hands from his. As much as I wanted to let go, something deep down yearned for his touch again. And this something wasn't Y/N. I quickly changed the subject. "Oh, please tell Dark I'm sorry. Though next time he needs to be less cocky; he's less likely to get his *ss kicked by this girl."
"Will do!" Anti chuckled.
The night was becoming brisk and Y/N still needed to get home; as well as both Anti and Dark. I didn't want to blow their cover. Mark and Sean would already be questioning the odd bruising and body aches.
With a heavy heart, I told Anti goodbye, truly hoping that it wasn't the last time we'd speak. Before saying goodbye, I earned a nickname. And it was one that made my cheeks burn and my stomach to clench. Anti deemed me 'Baby girl' and with that I only smiled.
As I walked away I spoke another ancient spell and heard Dark cough, as he came out of his slumber.

Y/N's POV
I sat outside the coffee shop and took in the peaceful day. With my book opened as cover, I started chatting with (Alt). "So how's Anti." 'He's fine I guess? Though he went home a little late the other night, so he's laying low sadly.' "He seems like a nice guy. You know...You seem more happy now?" 'Y/N/N stop. We're just...friends. And you no we don't get those feelings like you do.' "Bullsh*t! I can tell by your defensive nature that you do." 'Y/N! Drop it!' "(Alt), why can't you just admit you have feelings for him?" I slammed my book down, earning a few strange looks, but continued my silent rant. "The knots in your stomach when he speaks, the ways his touch ignites your skin like fire, and the way he creeps into your thoughts without reason...that's you feeling (Alt). It's ok." 'I...I . Y/N please...I don't know if this is even mutual. Besides I don't know how...To care. Just please stop!' "Fine, just keep what I said in mind. And if... (Alt)?" 'Hmm...' "No, (Alt) look!" 'Y/N, what do. You. Want? No no no...Please don't! Just leave it alone Y/N/N! He doesn't know you anyways...' "But that's Sam or Steve or..." 'Sean.' "Yeah! Sean!" 'I'm going to tune out. Don't bother him. And please don't embarrass yourself.' "I won't. And...Are you sure?" 'Yeah...I'm tired.' "Ok...".
I knew it was a lie. (Alt) didn't get tired; she go silent. I looked up at Sean and the small group of men, now exiting the coffee shop. They all stood on the sidewalk, leaning against the railing, I assumed they were waiting for the bus. Sean caught my gaze and we exchanged a small smile in each other's direction. He shot me a questioning where-have-I-seen-you-like gaze. Then continued conversing with the group.
I continued to peer over my book, in his direction. He turned back towards me and caught me staring, I instantly averted my eyes. When I looked back up, he was heading my way. Sh*t! Wh...what do I say? Or what do I...
"Hello! I'm sorry I couldn't help but notice you staring. Do I know you from somewhere? You look oddly familiar." Sean chucked, halting all my thoughts.
"Umm..hi! I wasn't staring? And no umm..I don't think we have. Though you look familiar too." I stumbled over my words, internally facepalming myself. (Alt) was definitely right about me embarrassing myself.
"Uhhuh?" He said with a smirk. "Well I'm Sean by the way! Lovely meeting you...?" He spoke in his lovely Irish accent. He was much more chipper than Anti, in my opinion.
"Y/N! And you too Sean!" I said smiling.
"This may sound odd, but would you like to grab lunch sometime? I know that I've seen you somewhere. Maybe we'll figure it out then. Sadly I have to go now, but what do say Y/N?" I smiled and felt a blush creep onto my face.
"I'd love nothing more Sean! Umm...here's my business card. It has my cell on it. Just let me know it's you. And yes maybe we will." I said whilst handing him the small business card.
"Goodbye Y/N! And hope to see you soon." With a small smile he headed to the group, where their bus was now pulling up. I smiled to myself and brought my attention back to my book. A few short minutes later I felt the buzz of my phone, the message inside my stomach do somersaults. Sean had messaged me.
S: Hello beautiful! It's Sean. We just met @ the coffee shop. Haha. Sry we had such a short time 2 speak, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Is tomorrow @ Y/C ok?
Y/N: I luv that place! Thx Sean! C u 2moro! Ttyl! Bye!
S: Great! I'll be happy to c u again! Have a good 1. & ttyl bye!
**several months later**
It was later in the evening and Sean and I just finished watching another episode of Rick and Morty. The man's simply obsessed, though (so am I/it's growing on me).
Sean had dozed off with me resting on his shoulder. I took the chance to speak with (Alt). Since her and Anti stopped talking, it'd gotten pretty bad. I was coming up with stupid questions just to hear her. I never knew how lonely I was without her, until she turned away from me.
"Hey (Alt)." 'Hey...' "Soo...have you seen or heard from him since?" 'Who?' "Don't act coy with me?! You know exactly who he is!" 'You already know. Just...it doesn't matter.' "(Alt)?" 'It's too dangerous he says. I...I just missed when we used to hang out. I know Dark almost getting caught scared him, hell it scared me! I just wish I could see him again.' "(Alt) I think I'm going to try talking with Sean...about Anti." 'No! It'll make things worse! And...and he said he's not coming back. He's gone Y/N...I've tried every form of contact besides directly approaching him, he's gone. Just leave me alone!' "(Alt)? (Alt) please talk to me?!" And on the turn of a dime she went silent, something (Alt) rarely did. When she went silent, I knew something was bothering her. In truth, since (Alt) and Anti stopped talking, so had we.
The night was coming to an end and I knew I'd be heading to bed soon. I also knew that I had to discuss something important with him; about our Alters. Despite (Alt's) wishes and my own internal 'should I or shouldn't I'.
Sean still didn't know about (Alt), nor the fact that I knew about his Alter, Anti. It wasn't really an easy topic to bring up. But I feel now is the time. Especially after everything that happened with Dark and well Anti too.
I knew he'd probably deny it, but we had to discuss it now. We've been seeing each for awhile now and neither of us revealed our secrets, but it's better to put it out in the open and discuss it, rather discover it on incident and have a million questions of how's and why's. And more importantly, for Anti. Lord knows what he was planning. And I don't know what (Alt's) possibly thinking or feeling.
"Sean?" I whispered lowly, while I leaned against him.
"Hmm..." He hummed. Gently stroking my arm and occasionally brushing loose strands of hair from my face.
"Do you love me?" I questioned. My eyebrows furrowed together in deep thought, causing a deep line to crease across my forehead. My head already throbbing from overthinking the many outcomes of this conversation.
"Y/N?" He took his free hand gently raised my chin to meet his gaze. He gently swept his thumb over my cheek; stroke by stroke removing the deep line from my forehead. "Of course I do beautiful! I love you very much. I told you I don't use that term lightly." I gave him the best smile I could, but it quickly fell. He gave me a worried look and tilted his head to the side. He lowered his voice to a sincere and concerned whisper. "What's wrong, beautiful?"
"Sean, I...I have to tell you something?" I spoke slowly, choosing each word carefully. I shifted my gaze away from his.
"Y/N, you know you can tell me anything?! Whatever it is, we'll get through it. I promise. Now please, what's bothering you, love?" He said with his full attention on me. Looking me straight in the eyes. I still get lost in his. Those beautiful ocean blue eyes; the ones that drown away all my sorrows.
But tonight even his loving gaze couldn't lift my mood.
"This isn't just anything, Sean. And i know you'll deny it at first, but it's all true." I said seriously.
"Know what? Y/N what's wrong?" He turned sideways taking my hands into his own. A worrisome look stretched across his features.
"Sean I know this may sound strange, but there's a reason you recognized me that day at the coffee shop? You did see me before." I said casting my gaze downwards.
"Ok...then where? I don't understand, love." He said cocking his head to the side, like a small puppy.
"A few weeks before then, we met near my shop. It was really late." I spoke again still avoiding his gaze at all cost.
"I don't understand Y/N? I had never been to your shop until after we were dating. And you know I'm not one to stay out late?" He chuckled lightly and shook his head.
I nodded agreeably with his statement. "I know Sean. When you saw me... You weren't exactly yourself."
"I..I..what do you mean?" He said with a small stutter.
"You were...Anti." I whispered.
He immediately let go of my hands and stood up. He tugged at his hair and began spewing words faster than he could process them. "An...Anti?! Oh God! He didn't? No! What did he...?" I stood up, taking his hands into mine and beckoned him to stop.
"Nothing! I mean at first he attacked, but we fought back." I said instantly regretting my choice in words.
"We?! He attacked multiple people?! How? I..I..." I stopped him before he finished. He tried moving away, but I stepped closer.
"Sean? Let me explain. Anti, he's is your other half right?" His silence was my only answer, but soon I found him do a small nod. If I blinked I may have missed it. "Well, I have someone too, (Alt)."
A long period of silence passed between us before he looked away from me and pulled his hands from mine. He took a few quick steps backwards and made a stopping motion when I tried to move closer. His face drew a hard line across his forehead, his large brows furrowed together, and I could see his jaw tick; all clear signs that he wasn't happy and was in deep thought.
"Sean...Sean please talk to me?" I beckoned in a small whisper. Stepping forward once more. "You..You promised?" I said with tears brimming my eyes.
His look softened and he spoke in what I could only describe as defeat. "I thought he was gone."
My eyes found his once again and I saw his pain. "But Sean he's a actually good..."
"GOOD?!" Be bellowed, irritation and disbelief were very visible.
"Yes Sean. (Alt) and Anti have gotten really close. I think you need to give him another chan..."
"No! Never again! And when we're you going to tell me about '(Alt)' huh?! Why didn't you tell me this month's ago Y/N?!" He turned to face me. That was the first time I'd ever seen Sean angry. And I was scared.
"But Sea.." I was continuously being cut short by Sean.
"Y/N?! I said no! He's gone and you..." He took a deep breath and released before continuing. "I just I need to get some air. Goodnight Y/N." With that he headed for the door.
"No Sean, wait please?! Sean you promised we'd get through this. We not just me!" I said allowing the tears to slide down my face.
"Don't play that card!" He spun around to face me, but his face softened at the sight of mine. "I...I'm sorry Y/N? I just need some air. I need to clear my head." He said with a hint if sorrow, avoiding my teary eyes.
"You're going to try to get rid of him aren't you? Sean please don't! He reall..." I said with tears streaming down my face!
"Y/N!? Enough! He's gone!" He shouted.
"Sean...Try talking to him?" I said.
He was still quiet and still for a moment before speaking again. "Nothing! See he's not there. I got rid of him."
"Nothing?" I repeated questioningly.
"Yes nothing." He snapped.
"Then explain how I know about him Sean?! How do I know about Anti or Dark or how Mark had thought that Dark came back and warned you and that that's why Anti refuses to come out. He's scared Sean! He's scared of you. " I yelled back, my words coming out harsher than intended.
"He should be! I have a murderer living inside me! You of all people should understand why I have to do this?!" Spit flew from his mouth as he shouted. His normal bright bright blue eyes, seemed to turn a stormy grey; and this want Anti's doing.
"Sean!? Listen to me! I do understand. But she's made him better, Sean. They've made each other better!" I said into a whisper-shout. Tears not holding anything back.
Sean backed away, shaking his head and tugging at his green locks of hair. With his hair a wreck, he turned to face me again. "Please stop crying...I'm...I'm gonna go get some air. Just get some rest, we'll talk in the morning. Goodnight Y/N." He paused for a moment and swung his jacket around himself. Then he spoke in barely a whisper. "...I love you."
"Fine. If you won't do anything, I will. Or rather (Alt) will. If you won't try to contact Anti or he's ignoring you, then I know he'll respond to her." I said with determination.
"Her? You're kidding right?" He looked amused yet tired.
"You either don't believe me or are choosing to ignore this, so no. I'm not kidding, Sean." I said.
"I can't believe you righ..."
"(Alt)? Please come out? (Alt) come on I'm not screwing around!" She still stayed silent, though I knew she was listening. Sean had said something, but I ignored him. "(Alt) I swear if you don't get your *ss out here, I'm..gahhh.." Sean's eyes widened at at my sudden scream in pain. I knew it was her, but without warning, she took control and darkness followed
(Alt's) POV
I rolled my eyes to the back of our head and feigned a seizure. Sean quickly rushed to my side.
"Y/N! Y/N?! OMG baby please? I'm going to get help. Where's my phone d*mmit and are you...are you laughing?!" He said with confusion.
"Cute! You should have seen your face!?" I continue to get laugh at him.
"Y..Y/N?" He questioned.
"No idiot! It's (Alt). And tell Anti I said hello. B*stard won't talk to me." I deadpanned.
"Ohh...and I've been trying to communicate, he's NOT here. I..banned him a while back! Why won't you two listen." He huffed, standing up again.
"That's what you think. Or rather what you'd like to believe. Explain the restless nights, tiredness, odd bruising and body aches, the headaches, the list goes on and on. Tell me that's not Anti!? I said annoyed at his ignorance.
"It's..It's not!" He stuttered.
"Sean, Anti has been in hiding. And now because of what Mark did to Dark, he's too terrified to come out; for all of our sakes. Just try again?" I begged.
"I'm telling you I did ask for him. Just...Fine!" He said blatantly. He then sighed and went silent. He shook his head after a few moments. "Nothing, I'm sorry." He spoke genuinely.
"Anti? Anti?! Please it's (Alt)." I continue to call for him, but come up empty. Sean's face drew with slight irritation, but I was persistent. "D*mmit Anti please answer. Anti?!" I wanted to give up, but something was telling me not to. It pushed me on and so I did. "...Anti if you ever cared about me...If you meant those things you said than please..pl..Please come out. I'm..I.." and with that I broke down. I fell to the floor and buried my face in my hands. Sean took a cautious step forward, but still kept his distance.
I felt something wet in my hands. As I pulled them away from my face I rubbed the liquid between my fingers. For the first time in my life, I was experiencing crying. Not through Y/N, but rather through myself. Seeing the strange liquid to continue dripping into my lap, caused more to fall. Before long I was a sobbing wreck; I released all my bottled emotions until I saw Sean's feet approach me.
"Just go away Sean." I said without looking up at him.
He stooped beside me and spoke gently. "Please stop crying...Baby girl."
My brows furrowed together and then my eyes quickly darted in his direction. "Anti...?" I said in a barely audible whisper. He held a small smirk for me and gently wiped the tears from my face. I quickly lunged forward and hugged him, forcing us both into a kneeling position. I held him tightly, almost refusing to let him go.
"Woah..You know if you're not careful you'll break Sean's fragile body." He chuckled.
My grip never loosened as I replied. "I don't care."
After a few moments of holding him in my arms, I slowly loosened my grip and inched away. Looking up at him, I saw a mixture of emotions. Pain, happiness, hurt, joy, fear, and something that I was unfamiliar with. "Why did you leave me?" Hurt and some anger laced in my words.
"(Alt)? I was scared..." I cut him off.
"So was Anti. And then you were just going to what? Abandon me?" Another round of tears threatened to fall, but I refused.
"(Alt)?!" He said sternly, but with a softening face he spoke again. "I was afraid of Sean yes. And being caught too. But my biggest fear wasn't that. It was, I...I was more afraid of this." He then quickly leaned forward and and took me by the lips. He kissed me and I soon found myself doing so in return. I felt weird sensations Y/N had spoke about. The stomach twisting, heart clenching, pulse throbbing sensation that made me feel as though I could fly.
When he pulled away, I was left breathless and stunned. He drew a smirk onto his face. "Did I actually find a way to render you speechless?" He chuckled. I nodded. "Hmm...I'll have to keep that in mind baby girl."
"Shut up!" With a smile on my face, I kissed him again. Relishing in these new found feelings, the ones that for so long I never knew existed.
The next few days were odd yet eventful. We all finally were able to converse nicely. Sean was slowly coming to accept Anti. Sean and Y/N discussed things about us and of course they had apologized to each other for the argument. Anti and I have grown closer. And now Sean and Y/N were going to speak with Mark about Dark. We may be just Alter Beings, but we definitely still have feelings.
