Chapter Eight

I stood their mouth gaping at what stood before me. I had not seen my father for years. The last time I saw him I was in my twenties and I saw him kill my mom.

~Flashback~

I was sleeping in my room when I heard a blood-curdling scream fill the house.

I awoke with a start, and my blood began running cold. That scream came from my mother. I knew it was her. I had heard her scream plenty of times from the beatings my father had given her when I was younger.

I had moved back in a year ago to protect her from him. My father was furious that I was here but he didn't beat her. Something must have pushed him this night.

I quickly sprang out of bed and ran down the hallway to my parent's bedroom. I slammed the door open and saw my father holding my mother by the hair with his fist raised ready to strike her.

My father turned to look at me and I could see the surprise and range in his eyes.

"I thought you were sleeping Jimin." My father said suspiciously clam.

"What! You thought me being asleep makes it all right to hit my mother!" I screamed at him.

He let go of my mother's hair and she fell to the floor with a thud.

He then pulled a handkerchief out of his pocket and wiped his hands on it.

"You don't know the things she's done. She deserves this beating. Don't you?" My father said directing the question to my mother.

She didn't say anything so my father lifted his foot ready to kick her, but I lunged at him knocking him to the floor and knocking the wind out of him.

He lay there gasping and struggling to get up.

I quickly went to my mother and gently lifted her.

She looked at me with glassy eyes and she was not moving.

I quickly checked her pulse and to my horror, I could not feel it.

I put my ear to her chest trying to hear her heart but I heard nothing.

I knew she was dead but I didn't want to believe it.

"I didn't think I hit her that hard, but oh well." My father said as he stood up.

Range flared inside me, systematically taking over, gathering like storm clouds or fog. All he did was stand there and smirk, as though this were not some monstrosity.

I slowly laid my mother down and stood up.

I turned to face my father and I saw him still standing there smirking.

"What are you gonna do, huh? You won't kill me. If you could do that you would have done it a long time ago." My father told me still smirking.

I lunged at him again but this time he sidestepped me and I fell to the floor.

My father quickly yanked me up and punched me in the gut.

I doubled up whizzing and coughing.

My father quickly turned me around so my back was to him and sank his teeth into my neck.

At that moment I realized two things.

One was Vampires are real, and two was that my father was one.

The room seemed to spin around me as I tried to break free of his grasp, but I failed and soon I was unconscious.

When I awoke I was back in my room. I slowly sat up and touched my neck where my father had bitten me. I could feel two marks. I quickly got up and went to the mirror in my room.

I looked at my neck, and I could see the two holes there. To my surprise, though, they were healing over quite quickly.

Soon the holes were gone and my skin was clear as if nothing happened.

I quickly went to go check the door to my room and surprisingly it was unlocked.

I quietly open the door and crept down the hallway.

I peeked into my parent's room and saw that it was empty.

I quietly closed the door and crept down the stairs.

I saw my father sitting in a chair reading a book.

"I was wondering when you would wake up." My father said not looking up.

I stood up straight and went down the rest of the stairs where I stopped in front of him.

"What have you done to me?" I demanded to know.

"I simply turned you into a vampire." My father stated still not looking up.

I lunged at him which caught him off guard. We both went down onto the floor knocking the chair over with our tumble.

I quickly punched him in the face again and again until my hand hurt.

I pushed myself off him and fell to the floor breathing hard. When I was breathing normally again I checked his pulse and luckily there was none.

I quickly ran upstairs and stuffed my clothes into a backpack. Along with some money, food, other accessories.

I then ran down the stairs again and ran out the door.

A year later I found other vampires that are my family now, and I've stayed with them until this moment.

~End of flashback~

I stepped back in horror from the memory, bumping into the wall behind me as I did.

"Aren't you glad to see me?" My father asked.

"B-but I killed you," I stated to him.

"You thought you killed me. I'm a vampire remember. I don't have a pulse." My father started sounding bored.

"But what about just know? I shot you with the vampire gun." I told him.

"Oh yes, well I was a hologram." My father said with a smirk.

A familiar range filled up in me and fought hard to contain it.

"Why are you trying to kill your own kind?" I asked him calmly.

I could see my reaction surprise him and it took him a second to respond.

"Because I have found a cure, but I needed your blood to finish it. You see I have been keeping tabs on you. You don't know it but there is a spy in your little crew." My father said.

At that moment I could hear my friends and the other vamps being lead into the room.

I turned to look and to my horror, I saw Rosé pointing a gun at them.

"Rosé?"
