Hello Everyone!

We are here today with our teen fiction genre winner who is none other than, highonrandomness, the author of the award-winning novel 'When Sparks Fly...'.

Q: So tell us something about yourself.

A: Entirely random, but I'm a certified meme freak. Just kidding! (kinda. I do have a meme page on it so...)

Q: How were you introduced to Wattpad?

A: I actually got on this site by accident at first. I was looking for where to read Skulduggery Pleasant online free of charge (Sorry Derek, piracy ain't cool, but sometimes...you know...) Anyways, I thought I saw the book on this site , so I downloaded the app. Turns out it was a fanfiction, but still glad I got the app anyways!

Q: What inspired you to write and when did you start writing?

A: I actually started writing when I was about twelve, but then I just used to scribble down rough drafts in notebooks. I've always had, like, a thousand ideas whizzing through my head all at once, so I began to put the best ones down on paper so I don't forget them. But the first time I started writing on Wattpad was when I was fourteen.

Q: Who would you say is your biggest inspiration as a writer, and why?

A: JK Rowling's, hands down. Harry Potter was the first fantasy type series I read, and I think it's what really got me immersed in the genre. Also, her whole success story as a writer is just really motivating.

Q: What books have influenced your life the most?

A: Harry Potter, Oliver Twist, Percy Jackson, After e.t.c. (After is on here 'cause it was actually the first series I read on Wattpad. Although I got tired of it by the third book, I did enjoy the first two and they helped spark an interest for Wattpad in me.)

Q: How did you feel when 'When Sparks fly...' won 1st place in teen fiction?

A: Two words: I screamed.

Q: What inspired you to write 'When Sparks fly...'?

A: Originally, the book wasn't actually really meant to have romance or much humor in it, it was just meant as a medium for me to show the effects trauma could have on a person's life and how they could grow from it. But a friend suggested I wrote a romance novel, and at the time I was reading 'Romeo and Juliet', so I was like 'hey, this would make a pretty good them for this novel. About a year later, and here it is today.

Q: Are certain events from the story based on your own real-life experiences?

A: Yeah, the whole dealing with the trauma part is. It might not be the same cause as stated in the book, but the feelings are closely related.

Q: Give us a glimpse of your favorite part of the story without revealing too much.

A: Well, I really like the part where the main guy, his love interest, her ex-boyfriend, and another guy all go to the cinema together because...nah, I'll say too much ;)

Q: Tell us about the main character

A: Honestly, the best way to describe him is simply as an asshole. However, he does have some depth to him (tho you'll have to look quite hard to find it if you're a character in the story) and he's pretty funny.

Q: Is this your first story? If not, then please tell us more.

A: No, it's not, I actually wrote two other stories before this. However, this is the least fantasy – oriented story I've written about, and my fastest growing story overall (really happy bout that <3)

Q: Where do you get your ideas to write stories from?

A: Honestly, I can't say. The most random things inspire me.

Q: What is your greatest challenge as a writer?

A: Procrastination definitely. Either I'm stressing myself out too much bout something else, or just too lazy to write at a certain time lol. However, I do make sure I put out updates at least once or twice a week mostly.

Q: How has writing affected your life?

A: It's been a wonderful experience, honestly. I've met so many people through Wattpad since I've started, and I generally just feel happy that I'm putting out chapters that other people actually take time out to read.

Q: Is there anything you would like to say to your readers/fans?

A: I'll like to say I love y'all , and I'm grateful you even take time out to check out my work. My dms are always open if you ever wanna talk!

Q: What advise would you give to your fellow Wattpad writers?

A: Getting reads and votes quickly are great but don't focus too much on them. Remember, having a few loyal readers is a thousand times better than having people who don't bother to read your story and just spam it with votes.

That's all for the questions.

Thank you so much for being here with us today to help satisfy all of our curiosity. It means a lot! We wish you all the success in becoming a very popular Wattpad author.

'When Sparks Fly...' was not only a genre winner but it also succeeded in getting nominated for the 'Writing At Its Best' special title too.

It was a pleasure discovering such an amazing story like 'When Sparks Fly...' and a talented writer like highonrandomness. So, if you are yet about to check this book out, I advise you to not waste any more time but to start reading it already.
