Preference #11: Drip drop it's a rainy day...

Hello everyone I apologise for not updating in a while (it feels like years!) but I have currently been doing something rather fun (not): homework! Gosh college is fun! Anyways here you go! Xx

Stefan:
A small drop of rain fell onto your nose as you walked beside Stefan. You'd agreed to walk with him to get away from the trouble that had recently entered Mystic Falls.
"I miss Mystic Falls being normal," you laughed. "You could step out of your door and not worry about being killed or possessed or God knows what else."
Stefan chuckled, rain slowly flattening his quiff. "I don't think it's ever been like that."
"Well, here's to hoping." You wiped away the raindrops from your face.
"We should go home, you'll get cold." Stefan took off his coat, wrapping it around your shoulders.
You raised your eyebrows at him, laughing. "It's just a little H2O Stefan. I won't die."
"But you'll get a cold." He stopped, holding the top of your arms.
"And then I'll get better," you sighed. "And all will be well in the world."
"Ahhh, but-" Stefan leant forward and gently pecked your lips before pulling away "- if you're ill I can't do that."
"You make a valid point," you hummed, taking his hand and walking back to the Salvatore mansion.

Alaric:
The ground was slippy and wet under your feet as you ran along side Alaric. The steady rhythm of rain on the leaves helped to drown out the pain of your muscles after running for at least an hour now.
"Can't we do this another time?" You yelled over the pelting of the rain.
"Awwww, scared your hair's out of place, Y/N?" Alaric laughed, keeping pace beside you.
"It's not as bad as your mascara running," you giggled back. Lightning flashed across the sky before your left foot raced ahead of your right in the mud. You landed with a soft thud bringing Alaric down with you.
Mud covered your hands. "Great," you mumbled.
"Aww is princess dirty?" Alaric laughed harder.
You wiped the mud down the sides of his face. "Yes, you are."

Tyler:
Music blared through the speakers as you both jumped with the crowd of people dancing around you.
A few screams sounded on either side of you both as you swayed. Tyler looked up just as rain poured from the sky. Everyone started running inside. You stayed dancing, I mean what the hell right?
"Come on Y/N, you'll get cold." Tyler shook his head and hoisted you over his shoulder before running inside.
Tyler set you down and moved a lock of sodden hair out of your eyes.
"Why did you make me go inside? Were you scared about messing your hair up?" You laughed, running back outside and dancing alone on the canvas. Everyone watched you as you danced but you didn't care.
Tyler stood for a minute at the door, watching you before he ran out too and started dancing with you.
"Y/N, you're crazy," he laughed, a raindrop falling down his nose.
"All the best people are," you giggled, jumping to the bass.

Matt:
The Eiffel Tower loomed above you and Matt, the afternoon light casting a beautiful glow on the metal.
A light shower had started, making your hair kink slightly, but oh well, you were with Matt and in Paris! You didn't care.
"We should go back to the hotel, Y/N," Matt sighed. "It'll still be here tomorrow."
"No, I'm not letting some water ruin our trip." You took Matt's hand and dragged him to the entrance.
Soon you were up the top, staring at the entirety of Paris - it was beautiful. "See it's only a little rain," you whispered, holding both of Matt's hands.
Matt smiled. "We're drenched."
You looked down at your top which now clung to your skin. "Oh well."
Matt chuckled before pressing his lips against yours. The rain got harder as Matt smirked against your lips. Matt's hair was wet under your hands. His hands roamed up your body.
You pulled away breathless. "See, just a little water," you laughed.
"Hmmm... We should go get dried up and continue this back at the hotel," Matt smirked.
"Race you there." You ran off, head start.

Kol:
The rain was heavy, dampening the cemetery ground. You stared at Kol's gravestone - it'd been a year now since he died. The small red rose you'd set in front of the headstone was already wilting and the rain had made two petals fall off. You took a swig from the bottle in your hands, you were drowning away your sorrows, literally.
You pulled your jacket closer, the tears finally spilling down your cheeks. "Kol..." The rain mixed with your tears, the sky darkening. "I miss you, Kol."
"My darling, there is no need to cry over spilt milk." Kol appeared in front of you, leaning forward and wiping your tears away with his thumbs.
You set the whiskey bottle down unable to believe your eyes. "Y-you're here."
"Darling I promise I'll never leave again," Kol whispered, taking your hands.
"B-but you died," you whispered.
"And now I'm back." Kol helped you stand, pulling you close.
He felt so real, he smelt so real - he was real. "Don't ever leave me." You buried your hands in his back pockets, keeping him close.
"Y/N darling, I promise I will never leave your side again." Kol kissed the top of your head.
You broke down into tears again. "I thought I'd never see you again," you smiled.
"Darling, being on The Other Side was awful knowing I may never see you again but I promise I never stopped looking for a way to find you." Kol nodded.
"I never gave up on you," you whispered.
Kol leant down and kissed you then, slowly. You savoured the feel of his mouth against yours, the way his hands perfectly fitted in yours. Kol was back.

Klaus:
Frank Sinatra's Fly me to the moon rung through the night as I stood with Klaus listening to the Blues. Goosebumps raised on my arms as the woodwind joined in.
"Love, may I have this dance?" Klaus smiled, holding out his hand to you.
"Why yes," you smiled.
A light shower had just started.
"Damn, why did it have to rain?" You snapped.
"Love, if I could control the weather I would." Klaus spun you around and pulled you close.
"Power hungry," you laughed.
"Speaking of hunger," Klaus grinned before he buried his head in your neck.
You laughed as he took your hand and spun you around. The two of you swayed to the music, puddles splashing under your feet.
"Dancing in the rain is the best," you whispered, reaching up on your tiptoes and kissing Klaus.
Klaus nodded, pulling you close. "Ahhh but only if I'm with you, it would be a bore if I were with anyone else, love."
"What do you want?" You laughed.
"You," Klaus growled slightly, tilting you backwards so the rain could touch your neck and shirt. You gasped slightlY at the coldness of the rain.
Klaus pulled you back up grinning. "Come along love, stop being so dramatic, I'm trying to dance here."

Elijah:
You trudged through the house, placing your laptop and work bag to the side. You still had your work uniform on when you stepped out into the garden.
Elijah sat on the grass on a picnic blanket, crease free and parallel to the garden fence, it was so him for it be perfect. Two wine glasses glinted in the afternoon sun nestled amongst a impressive display of sandwiches and pastries.
"My dear, I wondered when you'd return," Elijah smiled, patting the space beside him.
You sat next to him. "'Lijah this is perfect," you whispered.
Elijah nodded, smiling.
You sat eating and chatting for a while, mostly about Klaus.
BANG! Thunder clapped above you.
"No," Elijah groaned. "The picnic is ruined."
"Someone's a party pooper," you laughed. "It's not ruined 'Lijah."
Elijah nodded, rain making his hair frizz.
"Besides all of the foods gone and I love thunderstorms, so this is perfect -" you took his hand "- just put the fork down or you could be zapped by lightning."
Elijah laughed then, glancing up at the sky.
You smiled as he relaxed. "Would lightning kill you?"
Elijah raised an eyebrow. "My dear, I know that look - no I am not going to sit here and try to be struck by lightning."
"As I said party pooper," you laughed.

Damon:
The engine slowly fell silent as Damon turned the key. "Elena asked me to watch a meteor shower here once," he sighed, rain softly pattering against the windshield.
You moved your hands closer to the heater, nodding. "I miss her too, she was my best friend."
Damon gave you a weak smile. "And now that she's gone, well I have no one to share special moments with anymore."
"You have me." You took Damon's hand.
Damon looked you in the eye. "I know I do but I just feel that I'm weighing you down."
"The Damon Salvatore cares about someone else's well being?" You laughed. "Goodness gracious me."
Damon laughed quietly but it was only to humour you, you could tell.
You looked out of the window, thinking. You had to cheer Damon up somehow. A shooting star rushed through the sky, lighting up the night.
You smirked, opening the car door and running out. Rain instantly soaked your skin but you didn't care. You danced around in the puddles, water making your jeans heavy. You just made a progression to the can can when the grass made you slip, your head narrowly missing a gravestone. Whoops... "Well that went well," you sighed from the mud.
Damon hovered above you instantly. "Y/N, are you okay?"
You laughed, sitting up slightly. "I'm fine."
Damon moved so you could stand up.
You put your hands in the mud, pushing yourself up. And you slipped. Again. Mud flew through the air everywhere, including your face. "Come on, God dammit!"
Damon burst out laughing then, face creasing as he watched you attempt to stand up again. Your clothes were filthy and wet, no longer the colour they were meant to be but a nice shade of brown.
Damon smirked down at you. "We should probably go, Y/N."
"Nah, it'll clear up," you smiled.
"She said the exact same thing," Damon laughed.
"But did she look this good in mud?" You asked.
Damon smirked. "No, here you've got a bit on your lip." He reached up and wiped away something on the corner of your lip before leaning in and putting his lips against yours. The rain didn't ease off, it got heavier but you didn't care. Damon put his hands on your face, pulling you closer. You weren't Elena, you never would be but you were the next best thing. Not a replacement or a distraction but someone who cared and that's all that Damon needed.
