Kol preference #8 (Your first kiss part 2)
This is for fanficlove2, you asked so nicely and I couldn't not do a part 2 xx
Part One
~ flashback ~
You wandered along the roads, pulling your cardigan closer. It turns out the party you'd gone to wasn't all it had been amped up to be. You glanced around the cold night. Your friend, Kol, had told you being out this late at night was dangerous, that monsters lurked in the shadows. Your converse stepped into the moonlight, you weren't in the shadows so technically you were safe.
"It is not safe to be out this late at night, darling."
You turned to see the warm brown gaze of Kol. "Hey," you smiled.
"What happens if you had gotten hurt?" He whispered, stepping closer to you and wrapping his coat around your shoulders.
"I'm fine, there aren't any monsters out here in the dark," you laughed, digging your hands into his coat pockets.
Kol sighed, his eyes growing sad. "There are my darling."
"W-what do you mean?" You whispered.
"Y/N, you have been my salvation but I cannot take you down with me-" Kol's hand brushed your face. "-I cannot drag you down to Hell with me, my love."
His lips pressed against yours. They were soft and warm and good. And just as long as they had been there, they disappeared. You didn't even have time to take your hands out of your pockets.
"I am a monster, my darling." He pushed a lock of hair behind your ear, before he held your face with both of his hands. "And I cannot endanger you, I was in a dark place until I met you, my salvation. And now I shall be yours."
"Kol, what are you-"
"You will not remember meeting me, you won't remember this kiss and you will forget what ever feelings you may have had for me." Kol gave you a small smile before he disappeared.
"Damn, it's cold," you hissed, pulling the coat on your shoulders closer. You frowned. Who the hell had given you their coat? "I guess I'll have to find them and give it back," you muttered continuing your walk home.
Part Two
~ Two months later... ~
You zipped up your dress, checking your makeup before heading out of the door for the biggest party of the year. It was at the Mikaelson's house and everybody was going, literally. Even those who hated the Mikaelson's, the Salvatore Brothers, were going. The night air greeted your skin as you began the short walk to the Mikaelson mansion. You'd moved here recently but when ever you tried to remember why you'd moved so close to the house you could never remember - it was like reaching for an apple on a really tall tree, you'd touch it for a brief moment and then it would escape your grasp again. Your heels clicked against the floor, your handbag swinging on your shoulder as you neared the mansion.
"It is not safe to be out this late at night, darling."
You turned to see a figure dressed immaculately in a suit and bow tie, grinning at you from the darkness.
You laughed. "There's no monsters in the dark around here, it's Mystic Falls nothing ever happens here."
The man smirked, stepping towards you. "Well, just in case please let me escort you to the dance." He held out his arm for you to take.
"I don't even know who you are." You crossed your arms over your chest.
"My name is Kol Mikaelson, a host of the party you are about to attend." He bowed before he smirked at you. "It would give me great honour to have you as my date, darling."
"Okay." You nodded, taking his hand. "My name's Y/N."
His face fell for a brief second before he regained his smirk and began leading you to the house.
"Ahh brother I see you found her." Niklaus nodded towards you both, winking.
Kol nodded.
People watched you walk in. Elena smiled at you, eyeing Kol. Damon glared at the both of you, usual Damon.
"May I have this dance?" Kol asked as music began to play.
You nodded, letting Kol lead you to the floor. His brown eyes, there was something about them you knew. Something about the way he called you darling and changed the tone of his voice when he spoke to you. But what?
You swayed with him, trying to figure out why he seemed so familiar...
"Do I know you?" You frowned.
"I do not think so, I would remember meeting you." Kol swallowed, it was as of his collar was too tight, the way he moved his head away from you.
"You're lying," you whispered. "I do know you I just can't remember it."
Kol sighed, stopping you both in the middle of the dance floor. "Now... Now you remember," Kol whispered, brushing a hand down your cheek.
Salvation... He'd compelled you to forget him. No!
The slap sounded through out the party. Kol's cheek reddened with your handprint.
"How could you do that to me?" You shook your head. "It wasn't your choice, it was never your choice." You spun on your heel, walking away from the Original.
"I tried to save you from yourself!" Kol called after you.
"I didn't need saving!" You yelled back, pulling open the front door and running off into the night. After a while you realised you'd walked past your house and were near the forest. Oops...
You perched at the edge of the road, rubbing your arms to try and keep warm.
"It is not safe to be out this late at night, darling." The leaves crumpled next to you as the Original sat down next to you.
"Why, is there a monster out here?" You snapped, not looking at Kol.
"Y/N I am sorry for what I did, I just wanted to protect you."
You glared at Kol. "Protect me from what?"
"Yourself. I am a monster, you saved me from myself but in turn doomed yourself by falling for me." Kol took your hand then, squeezing it. "Where ever I go danger follows. I cannot drag you down to Hell with me."
"You didn't even give me a choice in the matter," you sighed. "I would have followed you anywhere, heck I still will follow you anywhere."
Kol nodded, brown locks falling into his eyes. "I understand."
You took Kol's cheek in your hand, looking into his eyes. "I understand that you did it because you care," you smiled.
Kol smiled. "I failed at saving you."
"No, no you didn't." You let your hand fall from his face and took his, weaving your fingers through his. "Whenever I'm with you I'm safe."
"I suppose," Kol breathed, squeezing my hand.
I leant my head against his shoulder. "You're an idiot you know."
"Does this mean I am forgiven?" Kol asked.
"Nope, you're going to have to work for that," you yawned, standing up. "Now escort me home, I'm tired."
Kol raised an eyebrow.
"I'm allowed to treat you like that, you took away my memory remember?" You smiled sweetly.
Kol shrugged. "The lady wants what the lady wants." He smirked, picking you up. "Perhaps I can change your mind about being forgiven?" He winked.
It was your turn to shrug.
