Chapter 10 Left Hand

Taehyung is standing there in the doorway, heaving like a second grader who just finished running the mile. His head hung low, but I could see his glistening eyes filled with murderous plans behind those dark bangs. And most of all, a knife, I'd say probably the length of my tennis shoe, in his left hand shaking like he came face to face with a lion.

I seriously beg to differ.

Even with all the nightmares my mind created in the past, never and I mean NEVER, could my mind imagine such a terror as this. Jungkook and Jimin were frozen in their state wide eyed as the man gripped tighter onto the knife.

"Why. Did. She. Scream." were the only words Taehyung could growl.

Jungkook automatically pointed his finger to Jimin betraying his friend while holding tighter to those pringles.

A light scoff of fear and disbelief echoed through the room before Jimin tried to justify himself.

"Listen... Taehyung, you don't understand... "

Jimin's eyes got wider as Taehyung's steps grew closer.

"W..we were just playing around... I didn't d..do anything to her..."

The man towering over me only a few seconds ago had become the smallest in the room. His eyes started to resemble that of a small helpless puppy as he desperately looked to Jungkook and I for help.

"Hyung.. Please listen to me. I.. I only offerED HER GU-!" Jimin's air was knocked out of him as Taehyung pushed him against the poor wall.

I quietly yelped only loud enough for Jungkook to hear. Sending Jungkook in a state of confusion as he looked at me.

The bang against the wall was loud enough to get Namjoon's attention as he peered into our room and stared at us with wide eyes. We mirrored his same eye popping expression pleading for help from the emotionally unstable boy who was still holding a knife.

Namjoon gave an exhausted sigh before calling Jin's name, "Jin, your son is holding a knife."

Then Jin came and peered into the room to see Taehyung raising a knife at Jimin while holding a fist full of his collar.

"Uh.. After sunrise, he's your son." was all Jin could say before skipping away to the kitchen.

Namjoon looked from me to Jimin and then to Jungkook before understanding the train of events.

"Taehyung, there's going to be a lot of paperwork to fill out after you murder Jimin." he pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration.

Still the murderous man stood in his place, unwavered by the man's sarcastic joke.

"Taehyung. If you're trying to protect someone, take a look at her and tell me if she feels protected."

The boy's ears raised at my mentioning. Forgetting about Jimin he turned towards me and blinked in surprise.

I bet I looked scared. Terrified even. A distressed ball of silent tears as I sat there curled up on the bed.

Taehyung's eyes widened and took a step towards me making my body flinch backwards from the man holding a knife.

Silently he looked from me to the knife in his hand before the clanking sound of metal hit the floor.

Every person in the room looked down at the knife. Jungkook, Jimin, Namjoon, and I. Even Taehyung seemed to give a sigh of relief as the knife laid there blindly reflecting the sun's rays.

"Y/N, I'M SO SORRY. I RAN IN HERE BECAUSE I THOUGHT YOU WERE HURT OR BEING HURT. I-"

"It's fine." were the only words I could think of to stop his madness.

As I calmly walked out the door, as if I had forgotten the whole scene already, the same words kept on replaying on and on in my mind.

Save me.

TIME SKIP. ~ SCHOOL

I couldn't stop thinking about everything that happened today even in class. I was disorganized and sloppy as I made my notes and my grumbling stomach wasn't much of a help either. I even forgot to lay my pencil at the top of my paper before class started.

It was bad to say the least.

I looked to Taehyung who didn't seem to be having problems taking notes and if anything was paying attention to the teacher more than usual.

"I know I'm distracting, but you're going to need to know the functions of the heart eventually." He whispered to me without peeling his eyes away from his paper. I looked back down in embarrassment.

UGH. How did he see me?

"I have pretty good peripheral vision."

My head shot up at his coincidental statement.

Can you read my mind?

"And yes, I can read your mind." He said with a smile.

I gasped and put my hand over my mouth in shock which earned me a snort from Taehyung.

"Y/N you okay there?" Jennie's voice rang from behind me.

"Yes, just fine." I smiled back at her while coming to the realization that Taehyung made a fool of me.

Huffing back down in my seat I collected my things at the mention of the professor's dismissal. Taehyung mirrored my actions.

"Y/N want to get some food? My treat?" Taehyung broke the awkward silence.

"YES- I mean no," My stomach wanted food so bad, it's been at least two days since I've had a normal meal. But I am not going to go peacefully have a lunch with my worst enemy.

He raised an eyebrow at my indecisive response.

"Aish, women." he huffed with an eye roll, "I'm ordering delivery from Panda Express. Anything specific you want?"

"No." was the only thing I could choke out. Although I wasn't sure if I was saying no, I'm not eating with you, or no, nothing specific just get it all.

He smiled at me before I put the last of my laptop in my bag.

"Hey guys!!" a familiar voice sang at the top of his lungs.

"Hey Jin," Taehyung greeted sheepishly while digging around in his gucci bag, "Have any of you guys seen my phone?"

AND THAT'S MY CUE.

I sprinted out the busy classroom, bumping into random people and bowing in apology before bumping into Rosé.

"Hey girl, see you later on today?" she yelled knowing I was moving quick.

I turned around to walk backwards, "Yea! For sure!" before turning back around to sprint to my dorm.

~At the dorm~

At the speed of light I ran into my room and grabbed the phone that was sitting there on the table connected to my charger. I decided to give myself false hope by putting it on the charger, expecting it to live once I came back to it.

As I desperately pressed on all the buttons to find any sign of life, I was met with the devastating conclusion.

I definitely broke it.

I heard the front door opening followed by the low sounds of ruffling. I was frozen. Completely.

This is the end. Jin told him everything no doubt.

Surely he would come here grasping a knife knowing that I have been holding his phone captive.

"Y/N!... Come out Come out wherever you are." His voice echoed through the empty dorm room.

Those words.. They were the lines straight from a horror movie.

And I'm definitely not going to call out let the murder know I was casually in my room. So I stood, as silent as a mouse, holding my breath in terrified anticipation.

Then three slow knocks on my door that forced a small, shaky inhale from my mouth.

"Y/N, I know you're here. Can you come out, I think we have something to discuss." His words were low and raspy.

Still I said nothing, looking down to the phone in my hands, what could I say? I was guilty in this situation and if he was holding a knife, he'd have full permission to use it.

"Y/N, I'm opening the door."

My eyes flew out of my eye sockets as I watched the door handle shift around in a circle. Immediately, I put both my hands behind my back in attempt to hide the phone right as the door flung open.

And there stood Taehyung with his arms crossed casually leaning against the wall with his bored eyes focused on me.

Well at least there isn't a knife...

"Hi, I was about to study." I looked away to the window trying to hide the lie written in my eyes.

"Really?" He smiled, not letting his eyes leave my guilty figure.

I nodded before an unintentional gulp escaped my throat.

He looked down to my arms that were clearly not hiding anything behind my back.

"So, my phone is defiantly behind your back. My only question, is it in your left or right hand? I'm going to say right."

I cleared my throat before cunningly switching the phone to my left hand.

"Incorrect."

He sighed in exhaustion, "Y/N, I may be a man, but I can read you like a book."

A book?

"Are you comparing me to a tree." it was my turn to cross my arms and in doing so, I put the phone grasped in my left sweaty hand on full display.

He squinted at me before rolling his eyes, "Yes, and you're being very stubborn, just give me my phone."

"Stub- Did you just call me?.. You know what, you're not getting it." I slipped the phone into my bra and gave a confident smile.

"Do you really think that I? A man? Am scared to go down there?" he mirrored my same smile, "Actually I'd want to figure out if you're wearing the purple one."

Suddenly, I don't feel so confident.

HELLO. HERE IS AN UPDATE.
