Cayden was not expecting Alexei to pick Valerie's phone but he knew that the slime ball will use every opportunity to get back with Valerie. He knows that he can't be trusted with Valerie.

"Can I talk to Valerie? It is urgent."

"She is sleeping." Alexei replied.

"Then what are you doing in her bedroom?" Cayden asked irritated.

Alexei breathed deeply and replied in a calm composed way. "Look Cayden, she is going through so much stress lately. I was here as a friend to calm her down. Your insecurities and jealousy can wait for a while. I am not going to lose my mind over a thing as trifle as this. For once in your life please act maturely. I will let her know that you called when she is awake."

Alexei disconnected the call leaving an ashamed Cayden who was looking at the blank screen of his phone.

Why does he acts so childish and immature when it comes to Valerie Cayden pondered and sighed deeply. Is their relationship really doomed? Are they about to become the first couple in the werewolf history who despite being mates could not work well? He laughed on the irony.

Maybe it was time to let go of this relationship. Neither he nor she can act and think like mature adults when it comes to their relationship.

The ringing of his phone suddenly startled him and when he looked down he was confused to see that Flora is calling him. He answered the call.

"Alpha Cayden don't do what you are about to do." This was the first sentence that she uttered in response to Cayden's hello.

"Nice way of greeting Flora. But I am completely clueless as to what you are suggesting."

Flora huffed irritably. "I was having incredible orgasm of my lifetime when suddenly I had the vision of the future and my orgasm was cut short."

"I am not interested in your sexual life Flora." Cayden replied exasperated.

"I know that alright. But because of this passion I am experiencing immense power.I am suddenly having so much surge of power and I am enjoying it no doubt but foreseeing future about you and my alpha when I am having mind blowing sex is not my top priority. So stop thinking ridiculous things. I saw you breaking up with alpha Valerie. Moon goddess does not want that to happen and she asked me to inform you not to do that. So please don't think stupid and don't act stupid." And then she disconnected the call

"What the hell!" Cayden looked towards his phone dumbfounded.

He was confused after talking to Flora so he decided to call his oracle April to ask about it.

"You asked for me alpha?" April asked once she entered his office.

He nodded and narrated the whole conversation.

"I told you she is getting powerful. It can happen; she can suddenly get a glimpse of future without actual effort. So if she has warned you, heed to her warning and do as she says."

"Alpha ist's time." Ryder said from the threshold of the Cayden's office door cutting their discussion in half.

"Right." He said. "We will continue to talk regarding this once I am back." He said looking towards April. "Till then you are dismissed."

On the way towards the meet up point with Scarlett, Cayden's phone rang once again and this time it was Dmitri. Without any formal addressing Dmitri somewhat shouted in the phone.

"Are you out of your mind Cayden? You are thinking of breaking up with Valerie at such a crucial time. Listen to what Flora has to say and do not do anything stupid."

"First. Hi how are you Dimtri? I think that is socially acceptable norm of talking when you call someone to ask about the other person and second why are you shouting? I have werewolf senses you know and your shouting irks mine ears. You can talk anything in a normal tone and third how do you know what Flora told me?"

"Well I was banging her when she suddenly decided to call you and made me sour."

"You are having sex with Valerie's oracle. Does she even know?" Cayden yelled. "She can lose a potential asset in such a crucial time."

"Someone was asking me why I was shouting? Ha! Irony! Well she is the alpha and she knows what happens in her pack and I am quite clear with my emotions with Flora and that is something personal I don't wanna talk about with you. Thank you."

Cayden sighed. "Right. But I don't understand why I do everything stupid when it comes to Valerie? Werewolves shit their pants when they hear my name, I am that ruthless and other alphas come to me with their problems and ask for my advice but when it comes to Valerie I always act like a clown. I get over possessive, over jealous and over protective. I forget the notion that she is an alpha too and that her beast also demands respect either it's me or any other werewolf. I thought it is not possible for two alphas to act like a couple. Two strong forces are bound to collide."

Dmitri was silent for few minutes. Cayden knew he was on line as he was able to hear him breathing. After few minutes Dmitri replied. "I know what I am about to say will not be easily digested by you. But I will have to say it out loud for your own good. Alexei is a strong Vampire and he has feelings for Valerie. They move along well. They are equally strong forces who do not collide because he knows when to set boundaries, when to respect her wishes, when to push her and when to dominate her. They are perfect as couple but they are not actually one. Alexei loves her but I don't think so his feelings are reciprocated by her. I think she loves you but your immaturity is keeping her at leash and she is not expressing her feelings openly. You need to learn something from Alexei before it is too late."

Cayden as Dmitri said was not able to digest what he said. He closed his fist so tightly that his own fingernails scarped his skin. He wanted to punch something but he knew that it was the bitter truth that he needed to learn. So he took a deep breath and calmed his raging emotions.

"I will try to act more supportively. I will come and meet Valerie tomorrow."

And they both disconnected the call.

"How far are we?" Cayden asked Ryder once he disconnected the call. He needed a distraction from what Dmitri just informed him.

"We are almost there." Ryder replied.

Cayden looked out and saw that the place was completely reclusive and darkness engulfed it. The hooting of owl was heard from a distance. The crickets were making noise.

When Cayden and Ryder jumped out of their car all the small mammals ran away in their holes. Both the werewolves can hear their movements. They were obviously expecting such behavior from them as the duo were the predators who were out in the dark night but luckily for them not for the hunt.

Few minutes of waiting and Ryder saw a flickering of red light in the distance. "That is our cue alpha."

Cayden nodded and off they went. When they reached where the red light was flickering they saw a cave like structure. They went inside and found Scarlett sitting there. She stood up and bowed her head in respect.

Cayden acknowledged her and asked. "How are you?"

"I am good. Just repenting the blunders I have committed." Scarlett replied meekly.

"Sometime I think what went wrong. You were my best friend and one of the best officers that I had."

"Alpha, with due respect let's not talk about the past. We have limited time and we need the information." Ryder interjected.

"Yes you are right. So what do you have for us Scarlett?"

"Randall now knows that Valerie is the grand daughter of his arch nemesis. So he is planning to attack the weakest of Jackson's. He is going after Genesis because he knows that will shatter Valerie's will power. He is after Jennifer too. If by chance he is unable to get a hold of Genesis then he is going for her mother. Once Valerie is at the weakest then he will attack the pack with the help of the witch. She is very powerful in the dark magic. He will be using her. 

The thing that gave me hope is that two centuries old vampires are staying at Valerie's place. I have done my level best that this knowledge does not reach Randall. And I have done a pretty good job in portraying you as a weak alpha. He does not see you as a threat."

"That is good. I am impressed." Cayden beamed.

"Thank you alpha. They think that you are not a potential threat to them and that as a mate you will not be able to save her. They were earlier taking you as a strong alpha as per your reputation in Canada. But I have managed to make them believe that all that was a hoax. Those were the rumors spread by me and the beta to make you look strong so that no one from outside ever think of attacking us. I have given the impression that your beta is stronger and that you are able to rule because of him. They even bought my story that you left Canada due to the fear of the hunters gaining power there. And they are pretty much convinced."

Cayden laughed. "I would have beheaded you for emasculating me. This is a major blow to my ego but I know this is necessary. Do you have anything else for us?"

"For now, only this. I will let you know once I get my hands on something. I should leave now. It's not safe for me to stay here long."

Cayden surprised himself and Scarlett when he pulled her into a hug. "Be safe. You are my asset and my best friend. What you did was wrong but I forgive you." He planted a kiss on her forehead and let go of her. "Take care."

Scarlett nodded and with watery eyes she left. Ryder sighed and nudged his alpha to leave the cave.

"We need to visit Stalwart warrior pack."

"Now?" Ryder asked.

"Yes."

When they reach the pack they found some sort of construction happening in the pack. In a distance they found Kevin instructing the workers. They walked upto him.

"Hi Kevin." Kevin looked back.

"Alpha Cayden, Beta Ryder. Welcome. What brings you here?"

"We are here to meet the alpha." Cayden replied.

"Of course." Kevin replied with a smile.

"By the way what is happening here?"Cayden asked.

"Charles is moving in the pack finally. I guess near death experience broke his courageous will. He asked to build a lab for him and that is what we are doing."

Cayden nodded. "We must go and meet her."

"Sure" Kevin replied.

They entered the main official building of the pack and when they reach the pack office Cayden asked Ryder to stay behind and only enter when asked to. He knocked on the door and was left flabbergasted by a sudden force that collided with him.

It was Valerie. She rushed to open the door and threw herself on him for an embrace. When she let go of him she smiled sheepishly and pulled him inside.

"I wasn't expecting such warm welcome after what happened last time." Cayden replied.

"I guess distance makes heart grow fonder." Valerie replied.

"If that is the case then you won't mind me doing this." Cayden said and he pulled her towards himself and kissed her. He kissed her passionately showing how much he missed her which was reciprocated by Valerie equally.

"We should talk first." Cayden said breathlessly.

"I agree." Valerie replied.

I know I am super late withe update but I have my reasons. 

I can see you people rolling your eyes and thinking that is what she always says. Well I do have my reasons. I was busy with my job then I got super busy with my masters degree. You know how it is. Assignments, work, exams and all the stuff. And then what ever little time I had i had to fulfill my duties as ambassador for wattapd . So I had very little time to update the story. But now I am little bit relaxed and I will try my best to update the story regularly but no promises though. For now enjoy reading the part.
