Valerie and Cayden reached the destined pack with their respective warriors in the wolf form. Upon reaching the territory of the pack they changed back into their human forms and started walking towards the pack house. The warriors of both packs were confused when they saw that the pack is functioning properly and is not under threat. Same thoughts were running in the alphas of the both packs. They walked further and saw that the warriors of Blue moon pack were just patrolling the area and were not in a defense mode. This further increased their confusion, yet they kept on walking and reached outside the pack house.

The alpha of the Dark knight pack came out of the pack house to meet and greet his guests. He shook hands with Valerie with enthusiasm and glee. He showed respect to the Valerie by bowing his head. According to the werewolf community the weaker alpha always showed respect to the stronger alpha by either showing his neck or bowing his head. Valerie nodded as recognition.

The alpha of the pack looked towards Cayden with suspicion. Valerie saw the doubt and distrust in the alpha's eyes, so she took a step forward and said. "This is alpha Cayden of the Mystic Moon pack. They are basically from the Canada but due to the issues with hunters they had to relocate here in Bridgeville." She looked towards Cayden and said "And this is alpha Paul of the Dark knight pack. They are our trusted alliance." She told Cayden.

The both alphas looked towards each other with scrutiny and then shook hands.

"He has come with me to help." Valerie explained further and Paul nodded. "But the thing that is bothering me is that you informed that your pack is in imminent danger and that you could be attacked anytime but I am not seeing such emergent conditions here at the present moment." Valerie enquired further.

Paul pursed his lips and replied. "Let's move inside. Your warriors can go with my beta to get freshen up until I explain the situation here."

Valerie and Cayden shared a look. Valerie nodded and Paul gestured them to follow him inside. The betas and warrior heads of both packs accompanied their alpha.

Upon entering Paul's office, he gestured them to take their respective seats. Valerie and Cayden took the seats followed by Jason, Dominic, Scarlett and Ryder. They were looking towards Paul with questioning eyes. Paul sighed and took his destined chair for alpha.

"There are strange things happening from past two days since we got the warning." Paul said.

Valerie moved forward with interest. Cayden and Ryder looked towards each other in confusion.

"What kind of strange things?" Valerie inquired with interest.

Paul cleared his throat and explained. "We were informed that we will be attacked by the hunters on the third night of half moon that happens to be today. That is why I asked for your help and we started preparing for the battle. My warriors who were patrolling the border of my pack saw few rogue wolves day before yesterday, they would sniff the air and will leave. They were not threatening us or causing any harm to my pack members. The next day my warriors saw some humans probably hunters who tried their level best to conceal their presence but due to werewolf senses we were able to feel them and smell them. Even the warriors of the Blue Moon pack who came to help us yesterday were confused with such behaviour.

They all shared a look of confusion and Paul continued. "What bothered us was the rouge wolves were kind of working with them. My warriors saw rouge wolves and those hunters interacting a few times."

That caused Valerie to sit straight and Cayden shared a look with Ryder and Scarlett.

"Do you mean to say..." Dominic asked reluctantly.

Paul looked uncomfortable to admit the truth yet he nodded his head.

"This is big." Cayden stood up from his chair and walked towards the window. He crossed his arms behind his back and looked outside thoughtfully. "This is bigger than we thought. They warned you falsely about the attack 'cause they knew you won't be able to defend the pack yourself and will ask for help from some stronger alpha. They wanted a stronger alpha here and that is what the rouges were sniffing. This is a well planned trap for us."

Before anyone could react to anything the loud blast of battle horn pierced the ears of everyone present in the room.

"We are under attack." Paul said and stood up haphazardly. Scarlett steadied the alpha and looked towards her own alpha for orders. She was not prepared for what she saw in Cayden's eyes. He was afraid and his vision was focused on Valerie who was giving orders to her beta and warrior head. She understood that that for first time her alpha will fight a battle with fear in his heart. A battle not for himself but for his love.

Valerie and Cayden shared a look and thousands of emotions were exchanged in that little span of time. She saw the undying love for herself and a fear for her safety in his eyes. He saw an assurance and a look of determination in her eyes to keep her pack safe.

They both acknowledged each other and off they ran outside in the battle ground. Valerie saw some of her warriors fighting the hunters in their human forms and the look of surprise could be clearly seen on hunter's faces. They never expected werewolves to fight in human forms. A proud smile graced Valerie's face. Cayden's warriors were fighting the rouges in their wolf form.

For now the leader's were standing at the back foot and watching the battle and the results of the battle were in their favor. The remaining warriors were standing on guard behind their leaders ready to fight if and when the need arrived. They were watching their fellow warriors fighting the battle. Hunters were having difficult time coping with Valerie's warrior. Paul's warriors were not fighting on the front foot. They were acting more as a back up help and some of them were guarding the bunkers having weak pack members and children.

Paul had a satisfied and contented smile on his face as he watched the scene in front of him. After few minutes in the battle the hunters changed their fighting technique and started playing dirty. They started attacking with deceit and fallacy. Both Valerie and Cayden growled when they saw hunters fighting fraudulently. Suddenly Scarlett gasped and Cayden followed her line of sight and found Hunters using bow and arrow. Not just any arrows but the arrows laden with wolfsbane. Cayden growled in anger.

Valerie knew that her warriors were immune to that wolfsbane thanks to her elder brother Charlie. She looked towards Cayden and said. "My warriors are immune to wolfsbane, they won't be affected much. But yours are vulnerable. We have brought it's antidote but the problem is it takes few minutes to antidote the effects of the poison and until then the warrior's agility will be affected." She then looked towards Dominic and said "Make sure you call one of our warriors and hit them with the dart containing the antidote and.."

Rest of her sentence was lost amidst and she gasped. The color drained from her face and she became pale.

"What is it?" Cayden asked worried. Valerie could not move, she felt like her body has been paralyzed. She opened her mouth to speak but no voice came out. Cayden jerked her to bring her out of her shock state.

"Oh Shit" Jason whispered yelled. When everyone looked towards him excluding Valerie because her attention was on someone else, he pointed towards someone. Cayden looked where he was pointing and saw a large, buff muscular man. A deep gash was running from the top of his eye to the middle of his cheek on one side and on the other side a half claw mark.

"Randall!" Valerie said in a whisper but everyone heard her, even Dominic who was busy helping one of the warriors in shooting darts. He suddenly whipped his head towards his alpha and saw her standing paralyzed and looking white as ice. He followed her line of sight and saw the said person smirking. The rest of the hunters and warriors of both pack were still fighting and he was standing in the middle with a cruel, taunting smile.

"Who is he?" Cayden asked no one in particular. That caused Valerie to come out of stance and she replied. "He is the bastard who killed my father. He hates super naturals with his guts. The claw mark that you can see on his face was given by my father. But the question is what is he doing here?"

And as if to answer her question Randall gestured with his hands. More hunters charged in the battle ground. Valerie ordered her remaining warriors to enter the field and so did Cayden.

This time this particular group of hunters were not getting tamed by the warriors, so the betas and the head warriors joined the battle. Valerie's line of sight was fixed on Randall who was watching the battle getting unfold with hawk eyes causing Valerie's blood to boil.

"I can't just stand here now. I need to enter the battle ground and kill those bastards."

Cayden knew better and hence did not stop her and she charged. Cayden entered the battle following her footsteps. Paul was left behind to decide for himself.

Valerie was fighting in her human form alongwith Cayden. Jason and Dominic were also fighting in their human forms but Ryder and Scarlett were tearing hunters and rouges apart in their wolf form.

Valerie took two rouge wolves at time and slashed them to death. She was unstoppable. The hunters were staying clear of her path but met their fate by Cayden. He showed no mercy to them.

This got Randall's attention and he smirked like a Cheshire cat. It was like he found something he was looking for and he gestured someone. That someone came and stood beside him. And both of them saw Valerie and Cayden fighting.

Since when Cayden and Valerie entered the battle the rouges started fleeing the battle ground and the hunters were having difficult time fighting. Randall and the other person who wore a hood on head and black cloak watched them with concentration.

"Take down the girl." Randall ordered and the hooded person nodded. Valerie who was fighting in full vigor suddenly felt a piercing and intolerable pain. She yelled causing Cayden to look towards her. Valerie fell down and started writhing in pain. Jason also saw his alpha in pain and ran towards them.

"What is happening?" He asked Cayden slouching down to his level.

"I have no idea. One second she was fighting and the next she was on ground."

Dominic saw few hunters and rouge approaching where his alpha was lying, so he charged towards them. Jason saw the need and helped Dominic. On the other hand Valerie was feeling pain that she had never felt and wished to die than tolerate it. She was reliving the horrors of her past, the day her father died. Her brain was projecting those images clearly.

"Kill me." She said to no one in particular and suddenly her pain was intensified twofold. She yelled an ear piercing scream and Cayden whined and felt helpless. He looked around frantically for some help and saw Randall and a hooded person. By the looks it seemed that the hooded person was doing something to Valerie. He decided to charge at them but could not leave Valerie behind alone. He yelled his beta's name and he came running towards him in his wolf form.

"Guard her with your life." He ordered him and before he could take next step a blinding white flash of light was seen and then everything went still and blank.

I missed last two Saturdays and did not update. I was quite busy not that it is justifiable reason for my readers. I will try and be regular.
