Skylar's POV ~

I wake up with a mean hangover.

I look around and remember Liv getting me out of the bar. I groan as I get up from the bed that smelled like her and go into her bathroom and wash my face. I looked through the cabinet under her sink and found a toothbrush in its box.

I open the box and throw it away. I brush my teeth and leave the room.

"Hey," she says and stands up from her couch.

She walks into the kitchen and warms my plate up and puts my breakfast on the table.

"Thank you." she gives me a lot of water and some pills for the hangover.

"What was going on yesterday?"

"I was just upset after we fought and had a drink."

"Yeah, I'm guessing one drink too many." I sigh

"I'm sorry I didn't listen to you when you needed help." I just let her talk while I finished my breakfast she made me and took the pill.

"What's going on at home?" she asks with concern on her face

"Well- my parents are gone so I have to take care of Jeremy."

"How's Jeremy?"

"That's- he's going through a lot," I say

"How are you?" she asks and I laugh and stand up grabbing my plate and heading towards the sink.

"Sky... What's going on with you?" she asks again.

"Just leave it there," she says and I leave the plate in the sink. I go to walk to the living room but Liv stops me.

"Look at me," she says and I push her away and go into her room instead.

I pick up my dress and my heels and she stops me from walking out the room.

"Talk to me, dammit."

"Stop. I'll- I'll call you later, okay?"

"No, don't." she sighs and gives up. I hiss internally. Don't give up on me, please.

"So you're just going to give up. I'm your-"

"Yes, exactly you're my mate but you don't even talk to me anymore. I'm done."

"You can't just be done like that. I-"

"I love you but until you figure out what the fuck you're going to do I cant do this." I bite my lip to prevent myself from crying.

"Fine, you know what? I'm done with this shit. I've learned that mates aren't forever and you just proved it." her face softens and she goes to grab my arm.

"Your mom... I'm sorry," she says and I laugh and shake my head and push her away.

"Don't worry about it," I say and step out of her little apartment.

Fuck.

My eyes blur but I close them and get out my phone and text my driver.

I had my heels on my right and my dress on my left as I walked by the sidewalk waiting for my driver. I kept replaying what just happened over and over again until someone snapped me out of my trance.

"Skylar? Skylar Kingsley?" I freeze in my spot at the voice.

I could never forget that voice.

It was stuck in my brain forever.

"Hey. It's me, Grant. Don't you remember me?"

yall- I'm so sorry about the giant as hell cliffhanger, I hadn't noticed that I had already written a summary of the chapter and how I wanted to end volume 1.

I'm not sure whether I'm going to continue this book. All these last few chapters were seriously rushed so I could get to the end of the volume. I'll be editing this book soon so when I do so I'll probably fix those chapters.
