8th skate: Ice Skates and practice makes a upset Viktor
Viktor POV
As I walk into the dining area I found that only Yuuri family was up, but I don't see Yurio or our little ice queen herself. Usually, they would be up for breakfast, or at least our little ice queen would be.
"Oh, good morning did you sleep well?" Mari asked as I smiled.
"Like a baby, by the way where are Yuri and (F/n)?" I asked she shrugged her shoulders.
"I haven't seen them since last night, but they might still be sleeping. I could go check if like?" She offered but I waved it off.
"No it's fine I'm sure they're tired from that long flight," she nodded and went to go back to work. While I was waiting for everyone to wake up Mrs. Katsuki place my food in front of me.
"I'm surprised that you're still here, I'd figured you would have gone with them to ice castle too," she said which made me confused.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, I saw Yurio and our little princess leaving early in the morning with their equipment. I'd figured they left to get some practice at ice castle seeing that left before anyone woke up," she said as it all made sense.
"How could leave their coach behind!" I yelled as I cry at being left out of their training.
"Morning," Yuuri said as he came in.
"Yuuri get your things we need to head to the ice rink to start your training too!"
"What?!"
Yurio POV
As I watch little mouse land her quads I could tell she's more focused on her routine now that she's in a calmer environment. I guess everyone in Yakov's rink made her nervous, especially if most of her competitors are there watching her constantly. The way she can move on the ice is memorizing just like when I couldn't take my eyes off her back when I first came to Hatsetsu.
"Morning Yurio, I guess you guys wanted to get some morning practice in," Yuuko said as she came up to watch little mouse skate.
"Yeah, we didn't want those two idiots to bother us so we came in early to get some practice done." She smiled and stood there amazed by little mouse free program in the making.
"Even though you two grew up and train with almost the same coaches, have you ever thought about your future after retirement?" She asked as I did think about this sometimes.
"Well when you think about it, we mostly did focus on the present and our place on the podium. There are times I even wonder if I ever get injured, and be forced to retire earlier than planned, I don't have a back plan ready. Unlike her, she's worried about the future and what might happen that it makes her lose focus of the present." It has been a subject that has come up on us with Lilia and Yakov these past few months, but I was only focusing on winning gold and beating Katsudon and Viktor.
"Well for starters what do you want your relationship with (F/n) to be in the future? Do you want to be with her forever?" She asked as the thought of not having her by my side and someone else being with her was wrong.
"I want to stay by her side and I hope she wants to stay by my side too," I confessed as she smiled.
"Well, you can be sure that both you and (F/n) have this strong bond that I haven't seen since Valetta was around." When she mention the former ice queen's name reminded me of how long it's been since she passed away.
"Oh, Yuuko are you here opening up the rink?" Little mouse asked as Yuuko smiled.
"Yeah but to the public, since you guys have your key here," she said as little mouse nervously laugh.
"Yeah sorry about that I asked Renji if I could come in a bit earlier before you open ice castle. I hope you can forgive me for not telling you," little mouse said as Yuuko waved it off.
"It's fine but that routine was amazing is that going to be this year's gold medal program?" She asked as her fan girl side came out.
"Yeah, it's different than what I normally skate to," she said as the door opened and someone came in crying.
"YURIO! (F/n)! How could do this to your coach!" Viktor yelled as we sweat drops seeing him crying and a tired piggy being dragged behind him.
'Great, those two are here now.'
Your POV
As Viktor came in running towards us, I decided to skate away before he could get a hold of me. It's not that I don't want to be near Viktor but there are times when I just don't feel like listening. I guess it's cause he promise to marry my brother if he won a gold medal but he gets silver instead making it impossible for them to get married.
"(F/n) why are running away from your coach!" He yelled as I looked away.
"I'm not running away I just want to get some practice in," I said to him as I started making my way to the middle of the rink.
'I know this year I'll be having more competition for the gold medal Mila and Sarah they'll be deciding if they should keep skating or retire.'
Yuuri POV
When I finally caught my breath I see Viktor crying about being left behind while Yurio told him to be quiet. Normally I would agree with Viktor on this but I guess they just wanted to practice without him teasing them. As walked towards the border and see my sister practice her programs. Something was different this time than when she practice it last week, almost like she's found some inspiration.
"Morning Yuuri," Yuuko said as she waved at me
"Morning Yuuko," I said to her as we watch my sister skate and be mesmerized by her movement.
"Amazing I can't believe that our once little shy girl would become such an inspirational skater. I guess being coached by Viktor makes the both of you famous," she said as I groan.
"More like we get more enemies by the day," she smiled as (F/n) went for a triple Lutz.
"That may be true but I can tell that your love for the sport is still strong." She smiled making me glad that our hard work shows.
'We leave our hearts out in the ice, just like she gives everything in her heart in the ice.'
------------
Hello everyone sorry for not updating as soon as I got back from my trip. To be honest I couldn't update or even edit after what happened over at my grandmother. So just so you guys know around the time I cross the border and got my luggage checked out, one of my cousins that was staying at my grandmother's home informed us that she had passed away. So when we arrive at the city where they were going to pick us up they held a get-together to say their final goodbyes it lasted all night and day before they would bury her where a cousin and uncle were buried. I wasn't close with her unlike everyone else but I chose that so I wouldn't have to deal with so much pain even after that I wanted to scream and cry my heart but I refuse to do it, especially in front of so many people. A few cousins that live in the states also took the first flight available to go say their goodbyes too and as well as the rest of the family that lived far from where she at. My mom was the most heartbroken but I've been keeping her distracted by taking her out like going to a park or even just going out to eat but she's been getting better now at least a little bit. So I thank you guys so much for your support and your kind words and jokes that some put cause they have help me out at least to have a bit more lively than I was before. I'll update as soon as I can probably after finish rearranging my room cause I'm in the middle of doing that as I'm writing this. So again thank you for everything and I'll see you in the next chapter.
