Intermission Nine (Flashback One Part Seven): Wrath of a God

G.3.K. grins at The Mind. "So," he begins, "before I kill you, is there anything you have to say for yourself?

The Mind chuckles, and then bursts out laughing. "Do you really think you can beat me and my army? You could beat me one on one, but that's not the circumstances, now is it?"

The two wind mages that have been standing at the door step forward. "So," G.3.K. sneers, an arrogant, knowing sneer, he knows he's God of this world, and he knows that, even if he can't win, he's to important and the author won't let him die.

"Let your army go," I growl, "or else." I move the blade closer to my throat.

The Mind snaps her fingers. A strong gust knocks the blade out of my hand. The Mind's army bursts into the room. The Web counters. The Mind's army is to strong and The Web is completely butchered.

I see hatred in Silkress's eyes. She lunges, but The Mind's followers tackle her. The look on G.3.K.'s face immediately changes from an arrogant sneer, to a rage fueled glare.

Holy light kills the room. The more sinful of The Mind's army are consumed in the light, and the Mind is injured, but she isn't killed. When my eyes adjust, I see Antagonist burning in the light.

"Antagonist you need to move!" I explain.

Antagonist smiles. "Nah," he replies, "I've been through much worse than this." Antagonist draws his sword. I watch his flesh slowly decay. I use my control to heal his wounds.

He lunges at The Mind along with G.3.K. The two over wealm her and before she can call her help, G.3.K. kills her. The Mind's followers are freed. As she dies, she looks at me, and almost seems smile. I'm not sure why she smiles, but I decide to ignore it.

The Mind's followers appear confused. "What do we do about them?" I ask.

G.3.K. snaps his fingers, and all the followers burn.

I pick up the sword to protect myself. He's going to kill me after all. I'm low on mana, but I manage to make the air around me colder, protecting me from spontaneous combustion.

G.3.K. is master of the four basic elements and holy magic. He could still kill me with any of the other elements, but his holy magic won't effect me. I have no sin.

G.3.K. approaches me. Antagonist gets in his way. "Don't do it!" He yells.

"Antagonist let me handle this," G.3.K. replies, "I know what I'm doing."

"I'm not going to let you kill him," Antagonist growls, "he's been through so much. I don't care if he's the next vessel, he's a good person. If anyone can get the readers to save this world, he can."

"That's not what I'm planning," G.3.K. explains, "relax. Now, Peter, you don't have a home to go to do you? Forgive the grusome display, but if the readers are to return, precautions must be taken. I need more control. Also, the interior of my palace is sacred ground. No mortals shall enter and leave alive. You however, aren't a mortal. The blood of gods flows through your veins."

"Which gods?" I ask.

"Let's see," G.3.K. replies, "I sense your aura is similar to that of Luke, the light god, and..." G.3.K. falls silent.

"And who?" I ask.

G.3.K. douges the question, replying, "doesn't really matter. Moving on, you don't have a family do you?"

"No," I reply, "I don't."

"Well, why not stay with us? Anyone have any words of protest? No?"

I consider warning them about the curse, but them remember The Mind is dead, and thus, the curse lifted. "Sounds good," I smile.

"Cmon son," Silkress smiles, "I'll show you around."

And that's how I got my family. Life was good. G.3.K. and Silkress loved me like their own. Antagonist and I became best friends, and Hero and Villain taught how to channel sin into power. Just in case the readers screw up. To this day, I still haven't used my sin. The readers will return to finish the job. They wouldn't just abandon me... right?
