Chapter 6

                                                                   (SnowyStar's POV)

"Snowy?"

"5 more minutes, mom..." My eyes were shut, but I could tell I was being carried. It felt like I was on someone's back. I was afraid of falling off, but each time I got close to the edge, a tail gently pushed me back to place, where the neck and body meet.

"Snowy!" The voice turned stern now. My eyes fluttered open, but I started to squint, letting them adjust to the light. I blinked a few times.

"Scorch?" I asked. He stopped. Slowly, he started to rise on his hind-legs just like scavengers do. He laid his tail on the dirt, directing where I would land, and let me roll off of him. When I made contact with the ground, a cloud of dust flew into the air, making me sneeze.

"Storm, Funnel, keep up," Scorch looked back and called behind him. I didn't realize they were there. 2 WeatherWings came into view, carrying some leaves filled with berries and other goods we collected from the SeaWing's hut with their snouts.

"Were da ones carrying da stuff." Came Storm's muffled response.

"Hey, I was the one carrying Snowy," Scorch shot back. "She weighs a ton."

I huffed, obviously offended. Funnel snickered in the back.

"Well, now dat heaffy dragon's off of you. Come and help us, will you?"

Scorch reluctantly went over to grab a pack from Storm. "Agh, these are even heavier than Snowy." Funnel burst out laughing.

"Hey, I think a storm's coming." Storm said, observing where we were. I thought she was right, since grey clouds started billowing, starting to cover the blue sky. The trees were starting to sway (again), and the wind was getting stronger by the minute. Weird how the one named Storm's senses when storms are coming. Then again, she is a WeatherWing.

We ran to the camp, hoping End and Arrow weren't gone.

"Where have you guys been?" Arrow demanded, being his usual unpositive-self.

"Well, we got some medical berries. We actually got a bunch of stuff, including these two." Scorch pointed at Storm and Funnel.

"This is Storm and Funnel. Storm and Funnel-End and Arrow. End and Arrow-Storm and Funnel." Scorch made a quick introduction.

They all shared quick words just by looking at each other, and Arrow and Scorch resumed their bickering.

"Is it always like this?" Storm whispered to me.

"Ehhh, Arrow's actually in a pretty good mood right now."

We were quiet for a little. Well, not quiet, since we could still hear Scorch and Arrow fighting in the background.

"Hey, could you show Funnel and I around? It might.. You know." She glanced at Arrow and Scorch.

"Oh, sure."

I showed them where we slept.

"End will make more. But 2 huts is probably enough." I said. I showed her the hut where she would be sleeping, since I mapped all of this out when we were rushing to get here. She nodded and examined my sleeping bag.

"Man, that End dude is one good weaver." She looked at the places where End used 5 long strips of flexable wood and weaved them together to make the bag shape, just big enough to fit me in it.

"Yup," I agreed. If End never came with me, I probably would've been sleeping in a tree. I saw Funnel in the back, admiring the bugs Arrow caught. One was black with green wings, it's antennae guiding it.

I lead Storm and Funnel out of the huts and showed them the creek where Arrow and Scorch put a dam. It was a little taller than how tall the water could go, which was good.

"Hey!" Funnel exclaimed. "It's a dam bug!"

Storm and I laughed quietly. "A dam bug?" She asked.

"Yeah. The bugs that live near dams?"

"Ohhhhh.." Storm and I said. I had to admit, Funnel had a knack for bugs. He said a bunch facts about them while Storm and I started cracking jokes like: "The dam fish live near the dam river" or "I saw a scavenger on a dam log."

"O-Okay," I said, catching my breath from laughing. "Let's h-head back. I'll- I'll show you more tomo-tomorrow." That's when I couldn't hold in the laughs and Storm and I burst into laughter, with Funnel looking at us like we've turned into scavengers.

"Hey, there you are." End said. He set up a fire, and was throwing more little twigs in it.

"Yup. I decided to show these two around." I said, and End nodded.

"Uhh, i'm going to go and.. Gather some food." Funnel offered, but he ran off without us saying at least an,"Okay".

"That sounded like a Funnel lie." Storm said suspiciously. I agreed in my mind that it sounded like a lie too, but he was off anyway.

We all just sang songs around the campfire, and even Arrow and Scorch joined in. We sang solos too. End sang,"Fireflies," and I dared Arrow and Scorch to sing,"All About Us" As a duet. It was really fun, until Storm asked,"Hey... Do you guys know who your real parents were?"

End smiled and nodded. "Yeah, they were awesome. I remember once they taught me how to fly this thing called a 'kite. Scavengers use them. It was pretty cool."

I only looked down when everyone had their turn of sharing about their parents. I didn't remember anything about mine. When they asked me to share, I just told them I was tired and rushed into my hut. It was rude, I know, but I didn't like that topic.

Did they just not love me?

_________

Hope you liked it! Sorry about the short chapter... I made The World of Pylon one pretty long, so I hope that makes up for it.
