(So before I start the next chapter, I wanna say thank you again. This book is new, and I'm already getting support! And honestly I feel like i don't deserve that lol.
And I'm really happy to see that other people who like dororo read my book! It already almost has 1k, and it hasnt even been a week since I first made it. And it got views really quickly. So, thanks again ❤️)
I had made it to the shop. Which was really a small wooden building with pottery and tapestries outside for sale. Luckily we don't get much attention. I say that cause it would be a stress for me and the few others working here to try and keep up with the customers.
I entered the little building, and grab an old apron stained with clay for the pottery, and bits of dyes from dying the wool for the tapestries.
Today, I was on duty for making a vase for flowers. A request from a customer. And after that, I would stock up on tapestries by quickly making up a couple. Cause we are running a bit low.
My coworker, chailai, was there to. It looked like it may just be the two of us today.
Chailai and I got along pretty well. And we have basically become good friends. She was just a bit older than me, but that's okay. Its less stressful at work when you have a friend who is also productive like you are.
The other two, we don't really talk much... Cause they're both usually out buying supplies.
I take a bit of clay from the box, just enough to make a small vase for flowers. Then I take a seat at the small wooden chair next to the pottery wheel. I set the clay on the platform of the wheel, and wet my hands in the bowl next to me. I place my foot on the petal, and began to lift my foot up and down, making the platform turn the clay.
My hands began to form a small cylinder shape to the clay, some clay getting onto my wet hands.
I shape and form the clay. To the point where it is at its requested shape. Small, and wide.
I stop for a moment, and wet my hands again before I start to form the lid.
Since the vase was small, It didn't take long till it was finished. And just needed to be set in the oven to bake and harden. Then paint afterwards. I release my foot from the petal, and stand up, wiping the excess clay on my hands to the apron.
"Chailai! The vase is done come put it in the oven!" I say to my female coworker, who said a while ago she would be in charge of baking. Cause apparently last time I caused a fire. And almost burned the shop.
"Aight" i hear chailais soft voice from a slight distance in the front, then coming to the back to get the pottery baking.
"Hey, since you interrupted my weaving, would you mind finishing up the tapestry? It is almost finished. And you could probably finish it up quickly enough, and I can make more Pottery?" The brunette spoke to me as she was getting on her own apron.
"Yeah! Sure. I'll get right on it." I give my friend a smile, before going outside where the weave was. We had it outside, because we did hope to draw some attention. Cause we haven't been getting much sales.
I take a seat on the wooden chair, and began to weave the project.
The unfinished tapestry was small, but its design was very pretty. It was a field of red roses. The dye from the roses is fresh, made from some bugs.
It was almost like my hands danced, making little motions to tell the treads where to go. And I had made a good focus, my eyes locked to the tapestry.
I've been doing this for years and I'm quite a pro. Since I was younger, in was just fascinates by the talented weavers who could take simple thread, and turn it tonan art.
And after years of practice, I found my hobby, and I enjoyed it.
At the corner of my eye, I notice that a few people were watching as my hands flowed along. Seeming to take quite a fascination.
Maybe someone would like to buy this tapestry. Make another sale?
I continue to weave, and I hear a familiar voice. "Hey (y/n)!" I stop for a moment, and turn my head to see dororo and the man there, watching. I felt my heart skip a beat upon seeing the man, and a warm smile spread across my face. "Hey" I give a little wave, before I went right back to my weaving.
Occasionally, I'd look back and see that the two were still there, and a couple more people gathered around to watch.
I was happy to see that people have taken an interest in this.
Though I promised not to take pride, but to have confidences in my work. Though this is mainly chailais work, that I'm just finishing off.
And a long while later, it was finished. I turn my head to see the small crowd, and people clapped their hands. I smiled and said a thank you. But then said, "dont give me all the credit, I only finished what was started. You should congratulate my coworkers!" I say.
And coincidentally did chailai come out, and seemed pleasantly surprised by the small crowd. And even more surprised to see them also taken interest in her work.
I leave chailai to talk to some of the people, and discuss if any of them is interested in making a purchase.
And I walk on over to dororo and the man, giving a smile. "Hey! Nice to see you two here, eh?" I chuckle as I crossed my arms.
"Indeed it is!" Dororo grinned and nudged the man, "isn't it, monster slayer?"
Upon getting a nudge, the man looked down at dororo, then back at me. I could almost read his brown eyes, and he has seemed to taken a small interest in me...
Maybe I feel the same back- no. No no no. I hardly know him! And he never talks! Why would I ever develop feelings for him??
