Third-person POV

Patton and logan left the prince's residence and began walking towards the nearby park, the air was awkward and silent neither one really knew what to say.

Finally, Patton decided to say something that made logans heartbreak, "logan, I know that you agreed to go on this out of pity for me more than anything, so we can just go ur different ways and pretend this never even happened"

Logan heard the defeat in Patton's voice and it physically made his chest ache, "Patt, I understand that these are strange circumstances for us to be in but I must reassure you that I do reciprocate your feelings, if I did not I would've kept myself locked in the bathroom all night." Patton looks at him confused but slightly relieved.

"What do you mean? Why in the bathroom?" He asks curiously, amusement evident in his voice. "I guess I had freak out or panic of some sort when I found out about what the others had planned for us and I may have locked myself in the bathroom for two and a half hours, only to have Robyn talk me out"

Patton seemed dazed in a wave of confusion "but... why?" logan and Patton finally make it into the park and see the field, "I may have panicked a little bit finding out that they decided to play match make on us is all, these are emotions that I never really expected to show until maybe later, will you do me the honours of humouring them and join me for some star gazing? I have some hot cocoa in the bag for us to drink and other unhealthy food items" 

Patton chuckles silently at that forgiving logan for the confusion and panicked state he must've been it, "as long as you talk to me about the constellations" he chirps, logan showing one of his rare smiles, and holds out a hand for Patton to take, "shall we go set up then?" Patton cautiously takes the hand and nods.

they to the centre of the field, where they are clear of trees and anything restricting their view, it was warm still even though it is a third of the into autumn, logan got out the picnic blanket that got packed into it and laid it out, there was another light blue blanket was folded in the bag in case they got cold, there were also a couple of containers holding a few snacks one being a nut mix containing, peanuts, pecans, almonds and cashews. The other container holds some chocolate chip biscuits and a couple of pieces of Sam's best and well-known double chocolate brownies.

Patton and logan sat on the blanket a gap was separating them from each other almost like a wall, logan offered Patton the cookies and brownie which he took with and excited giggle munching on the biscuit, happily. Logan went for nut mix gladly. There was a silence that overcame them as they looked up at the sky.

"Logan? What will happen if I find my soul mate?" He asks shamefaced logan looks at him sadly, "then I would be willing to allow you to be in a relationship with them" Patton glances at him "didn't you find yours already? Why aren't you with them instead of me?" Logan looks at his feet sighing nervously, I guess I need to tell him "I am with them" he finally says after a moment Patton froze mid-bite and looked at him in shock peppered with confusion "w-what?" His voice was small his freckled cheeks flushed pink, Logan makes a move to take Patton's free hand.

"Patton, your my soulmate, our marks match. I've looked at mine and compared it to yours and it is identical, nothing is different about it. I'm sorry I never told you but I didn't want our relationship to change because of a mark somewhere on our person" Patton looked into logans blue-grey eyes "can I see yours?" He asks logans grip on his hand faltered "I don't know if it is appropriate Patt" Pattons expression goes to one of curiosity "why where is it?"

Logan uses his free hand and points to his left peck where anatomically his heart is "I think it will be fine, no one is out lo" logan looks around hesitantly but finally gives in and unbutton his black button-up shirt, just enough for his chest to show, Patton moved the fabric a little and he froze seeing an open book and a heart with glasses.

he looks at the palm of his hand shaking slightly, they were identical, Patton realised that instantly and traced it with his index, logan had to clear his throat to get Patton's attention from the matching marks, "can I please cover my chest now Patton?" Patton's face flushed realizing he was pretty much-feeling Logan up without even knowing it, "er yeah sorry, I um wh-why didn't you tell me?"

Logan then buttoned his shirt um slightly flustered by Patton's previous actions, "I didn't want us to start a relationship solely because of a mark on our skin, I want us to be something because of a feeling that we would reciprocate for each other."

Patton nods going back to his biscuit thinking, letting the silence envelop them, then Logan finally says "I really do care about you Patton, I was just scared. I didn't know what to do. I thought I wasn't ready to be with you in that way but now I know that I want to be with you romantically." Patton smiles to himself hearing this.

He then envelopes Logan into a hug, who was caught off guard but welcomed it gladly, "I really care about you too, and I want to be with you too Lo." They smile at each other as Patton's hand gently glows a dark navy blue logans shirt began to light up where his mark was with pale baby blue.

It was a light feeling of being whole the mark tickled a sense of being like a complete puzzle, Patton leaned forward and so did Logan, at that moment they knew they were going to be ok, They have each other. Their lips connected and a small rush of energy overcame them, it was a gentle one only meant to last a couple of moments but It was perfect.

When split they both knew they were blushing messes Patton giggles as logan just smiled, it was a full genuine smile that made the skin near his eyes crinkle, not used to the change in expression.

The rest of the date went off without a hitch and there was no gap between them, logan pointed out the constellations as Patton listened excitedly to the passion of his soulmate.
