the night
This dinner night is very special to me, as it is the last night, I'll be sleeping in my room. Funny, how it sounds so foreign, even now.
Dahyun's complaints about her dried mascara, won't be my wake up call. I won't smell home, every morning in my Mom's freshly made pancakes. Dad's rush to drop us over to our assigned destinations, won't be a topic to laugh on, between me and Rose. And oh, Rose's advices...I'll miss those the most. This is funny, but I'll miss my and Dahyun's bickering too, at every little thing. Small, nice conversations with Taehyung about music, I'll always smile, remembering them. Taehyung's violin too. The magic, it engulfs me in. I'm taking all good memories from here. And I hope to make many new ones at Hoseok's.
Tomorrow afternoon, oh how excited I am for it, yet nervous but above all the happiest.
The chaos at the dinner table, makes me smile.
ooff. I'll miss this too.
I'm sitting here, having my last real dinner, as a daughter of this house, and reminiscing about my life here.
This is my own family gathering. excluding my in-laws. We're all busy, having our chats and laughs about things, here and there over our dinner, when a large baggage trying to make its way inside our dining room, catches our attention.
"Oh Holy Lord! this is heavy!"
I suppose, the person holding the baggage exclaims.
and the words uttered, tells us who this could be.
"Aunt Mona!!! Where were you?"
Dahyun exclaims out of joy, and walk towards her.
the real fun is here.
My Dad's crazy sister.
I smile and give a confusing look, at the baggage in her hold.
Taehyung comes for help. Taehyung and Dahyun manage to pull the baggage in.
"Careful, careful, please be careful!"
Aunt says, almost worried.
"Aunt Mona!!"
I with a wide smile, go to her, for a hug because she gives the best hugs.
"You are late, as always." ,says my mother from behind.
"And you are nagging, as always."
my aunt replies, cockily.
I come out of her embrace and she hugs my mom next.
"You seriously brought your house here?"
Dahyun exclaims at the baggage, trying to be funny, yet failing.
"Well, sweetie pies, guess what this is?"
Aunt asks, with a mischievous expression on her face.
My mom's smile, tells me she knows.
"hmm...lemme guess you finally were successful to steal babies from the hospital?"
My dad replies mischievously, getting up from his seat.
We all are aware of my aunt's love for babies, though it is sad, she never got to have one of her own. Her husband died after a few years of their marriage. I wasn't really mature back then, but Jisoo tells, how miserable it was for our whole family. Since then, she never got married. But always remains crazy for babies.
"Oh how I wish this would be the truth!"
Aunt replies, dramatically.
We all laugh a little at this.
"Aunt what is it, that took two people to pull it in with you?"
I ask, still confused.
My mother comes closer to me, gently putting a hand on my waist, she says,
"My Han's wedding dress."
"Oh!"
Before I could show any other reaction, Dahyun literally screams out of joy.
"FINALLY!"
I see my mom, looking at the dress, with tears glistening in her eyes.
Oh, did I mention my mom is a cry baby... but nothing compared to what my dad is. The biggest cry baby of our family.
Dahyun manages to take the dress, to my room with Taehyung.
I look at my mom, and say,
"Wasn't it supposed to come tomorrow?"
"I thought it should be better, if it is here now. Morning would already be a mess, tomorrow."
She replies, looking into my eyes.
And before our emotional moment could begin, aunt interrupts us saying,
"Okay kids, it's cards time!!"
Mom comes out of the trance, and smiles at her. I'm still looking at her, reminiscing how sad, it was for her after Jisoo. She really worries a lot.
Dahyun comes running at the name of cards.
Of course, it's our family tradition.
"I don't even know, why you even try when I exist, Mon!"
Dad exclaims, confidently.
"Oh well, that we'll see, LIKE ALWAYS."
Aunt fires back.
We all laugh at this, knowing very well, the ice-creams are already on dad.
Or any other food, the winner desires.

"Aha!"
"You cheated!"
"Oh come one, big baby!"
"Aunt, pizza! we want pizza!"
I smile, tiredly at the chaos.
I look at my phone, it's 2:18am.
Aunt catches my attention,
"It's the bride's night, she should tell!"
"Well, if it's me, you know what I want."
I reply, cheekily.
Dahyun groans at my reply.
"Aunt a pizza too!"
She says in protest.
My phone buzzes, catching my attention.
I smile at the text.
I get up, and say,
"Aunt, I'm really tired, i'm heading to my room, but I'll wait for my ice-cream- chocochip vanilla!"
"Oh sweetie, yes, go. You should rest."
My dad replies at her place.
"I'll come with the ice-cream."
Aunt says, with a sweet smile.
I tiredly get up, and make my way towards my room.
Smiling, and putting my phone to my ear.
"Ah! I can't sleep, Han."
I hear shuffling on bed from the other side, along with Hoseok's tired voice.
I enter my room, replying him,
"Same. Although I'm tired, but not sleepy."
"Han..."
He almost whispers.
"hmm..?"
I hum at him, making my self comfortable on my bed.
"There is this thing going on, in my stomach which is not letting me sleep."
I smile shyly, at his reply.
"You're just anxious. Although I don't get why you're doing my job, already."
I try to lighten him up.
I hear his mesmerizing chuckle from the other side.
"I'm serious,"
He replies, calming himself.
"I can't believe you'll be with me forever, from tomorrow night."
I lost myself in his statement, getting excited.
"Hoseok..."
"hmm..?"
"Me neither."
Silence. yet comfort.
"Han."
He says, after a few minutes.
"Hmm..?"
I hum, almost absent-mindedly.
"I love you."
And there. There goes my heart. I smile, shyly, enjoying the rhythm, my heart has accelerated for me, butterflies in my belly. His first real confession, of words.
We both enjoy the silence. I can imagine, his heart rate accelerating too. My eyes land on my wedding dress, in front of me, and I smile wider. Suddenly, I feel heat on either side of my cheeks. Noticing my reflection, beside the dress, and seeing that I am still in my dinner dress, I try to excuse myself.
"I... ah... am really tired... I should get changed too..."
I get up from my bed, calming myself.
I hear his manly chuckle from the other side, as he says,
"I have told you that you're too cute to handle, right?"
Moving towards my window, I smile at his reply, and say,
"Yes. indeed."
Suddenly, I see Taehyung with his violin, going towards the backyard, from my window.
I miss Hoseok's reply, too focused on Taehyung.
"Han..?"
"Oh yes, I'm here. Now, we shall see each other at the aisle. Good night."
I reply, not too focused.
"Ah... it's too early for goodnights."
He replies with an exaggerated sigh.
I giggle and say,
"Bye bye, drama queen. I'm tired."
"Well, I can let my wife pass, tonight only."
He says, definitely with a smirk.
"Ummm... yeah okay okay... good night."
I reply, trying to calm myself more than him.
I don't know why, but this effect he has on me, doesn't let me chill.
"Okay okay, good night, love. Don't think of me much, just wait."
he replies, lovingly yet teasingly.
I smile, and after saying another good night, I end the call.
Sighing I look out of the window.
I'm tired...
but I just saw Taehyung with his violin. at this time...? I thought he'd be asleep by now. Well, he was playing with us, but was the first one to get up.
Well, it won't be a bad idea, to listen to him, one last time before I miss this too much. It'll help my tired self too.
I sneak out of my room, and head to the back yard. Mission safely reaching the backyard, completed. It's dark here, and the cool breeze isn't helping either. I hear the creak, of the old iron door, of our storage room.
Strange, why would Taehyung play violin in there?
I make my way towards the storage room.
The door opens with a creak, I step into an almost creepy atmosphere.
He didn't even light the bulb, although it's light is equal to none, but something is better than nothing.
The darkness engulfed in the room, low-key scares me. But this is my own house. And the years, I have spent in this house, honestly there is nothing scary than Dahyun's attitude. I make my way towards the switch board, stumbling in between on some object, I cannot name.
"Ugh..."
I hear footsteps behind me, before I reached the switch board.
"Uh...Taehyung?"
I call out, while trying to reach the switch board.
And finally, I do.
I switch on the bulb.
And as soon as I turn to the other side, I'm met with nothing but an empty room.
"Taehyung?"
I call out, moving one step ahead.
And before I move another step, I feel a hand, along with a soft textured cloth over my mouth. All my senses, alert.
I panic, and put my hand over the manly one, I suppose, but before I could act any further; far away, I hear a deep husky, "shsh"
and feel depths of darkness, taking over me.
