Chapter 2
I have a new book! It's called 'in a heartbeat', you should totally read it if you're feeling really generous!
Mum was taken to the hospital, and I went with her. Dad had to be interviewed from the police, because it was pretty obvious that he was the reason why that had happened. The sirens were like my wake up call. I realised that my life wasn't special. That guy in a mask was probably imagined all by me. No one would give a damn if I dropped dead. No one. Not even my own parents. I had waited for the nurse to come out of the surgery room, and the news wasn't good. She was now in a coma, and I couldn't help but curse dad under my breathe. The nurse said that she had major head injury, and that even when she did wake up, she wouldn't remember much.
When I went back to school, Regan had told everyone about my mum and dad. So now everyone was gossiping about me. Like she's the girl that's parents who can't get along. Or I bet those bruises are from her dad,Seeing as he made her mum go in a coma.
Regan made people hug me, but he also made people glare at me with mean glances. We had a new boy in our English class called Kaden. He had blonde hair, and his face was skinny as well as his whole face. He was pale, and he wasn't afraid to speak his mind. There were multiple times that he would talk back to the teacher, and he would throw his pencils at me. I didn't get it, because for some reason, when Regan laughed at me, he stopped him. For some reason, Regan didn't argue, he just stopped laughing. It surprised me because, I knew that Regan wouldn't to anyone but himself.
Kaden was in 3 of my classes, and he just so happened to sit next to me. I wanted to pretend I had the seat saved but I couldn't do that because our teacher was watching, and she hates when we save seats.
"Hello?" Asks Kaden, sitting next to me. I smile, and move my books over so that he could put his down. He didn't have any though.
"So you're Aria. Everyone's been talking about you." He says, sitting down next to me.
I smile a sad smile, and he smiles back.
"I didn't mean-" he says, but I save his sentence.
"I know what you meant. And I've heard it all before." I say, opening my science book.
"Aria, I didn't think you'd take it that way, seriously-" he starts, but I cut him off.
"Kaden. I'm fine. And I know what people say about me behind my back, so at least you're upfront about it." I say. He nods, and gets out a notebook he had in his bag.
All through Science he kept talking to me but I couldn't answer him or I would get told off by my teacher. It was really stupid questions like 'what's your favourite colour?'
He found out that if he wrote it down in his notebook, then we couldn't get told off.
At the end of the school day, I decided I would walk home. I had my bus card, but right now I couldn't think of anything more worse then having to ride a bus. It was just another way that I could get picked on.
As I walked home, a car sped past me. It had Kaden in it, with another boy. Kaden was driving, and the boy was in the passenger seat. He smiled when he saw me, but then kept his eyes on the road.
Kaden seemed nice, but he looked like he was annoyed somehow. I hadn't done anything, so I couldn't think of why he could be annoyed.
As I walked home, I wondered whether my dad was guilty or not. I could tell that Regan would know before anyone else at school, so I would need to find out before he got home.
I would usually see my mum at around 6:00, and then come home at 9. I would surely have to put my opinion in, if dad wasn't guilty. Wouldn't I? Maybe not...
My bag felt like it was huge weights. When I could finally put my bag on the couch. I looked around. Dad was in the kitchen, smiling at me. It looked like a dark smile, that meant he was up to something.
I ran into the kitchen, seeing there was a man sitting there. He had a medical kit in one hand, and a cup of tea in the other. I stare at both of them, and open my mouth to speak.
"You can't be free." I mutter, almost letting a tear escape my face.
"Aria. This is Russell. He's my brother, and he's helping us all." Says Dad. I look at where where Russell was, and see he wasn't there. He was holding my arms, so that I couldn't escape.
"Let the hell go of me!" I yell, fighting against his grasp. He had a tight grip, and it was only getting tighter.
"This can all be done in days. Just hold still." Says Dad, coming closer and closer to me. I could see his canines in his mouth getting sharper and sharper. What is going on?
I manage to kick Dad, and break out of Russell's grasp.
Grabbing a knife from the kitchen I point it at both of them.
"They should of never let you go." I say, pointing the knife at dad. I wasn't going to use it, but if I needed to hurt Russell I wouldn't hesitate.
"Oh, trsut me, they would of been dead in minutes if they didn't. So it's for the best." He says, getting closer to the knife.
They start to hiss at the door, even though nothing was actually there.
"What- what are you doing?" I ask, stepping back from them both.
They eventually growl, and it makes me step back further. When my back hit the wall, I gasped. It gave me the fright of my life, and I turned around, checking it was a wall. It wasn't. It was a masked male saving my fragile life.
