"How do you know who I am?" The girl, apparently named Rose according to Benny, asked cautiously. "A dead person." Benny said. Rose seemed pretty freaked out. "I'm Carly and we are shadows too, and Benny here can talk to spirits who told him about you." "how can I know I can trust you?" Rose said "Because have you seen any drivers hire five year olds?" Carly said some what sarcastically. 

Rose suddenly starts to glow and once the glowing fades nothing seemed to happen. "What did you just do?" Carly asked  "You still see me as me?" "Yes Carly said confused "Then I can trust you." "Cool you can tell if I'm lying!" Benny squeals "Okay do this! I am a cat! It's a lie!" Rose smiles. "Not quite, I can make people believe I'm a different person or an animal." 

"Cool." Carly says. "Thank you I guess, not like I chose this power. It just happened." Rose shrugged. "Well any ways, I decided to save everyone who is a shadow from going to the prison island." Carly says. "Then I realized that It would be very hard to keep a bunch of five year olds safe by my self, but then Benny here was told by a spirit how to find you."

"Really?" Rose says "Really" Carly replies. "How can I help you?". "I don't know.". "well, since you don't know, what about you tell me about you." Rose says. "I've been on the run for the last three years, constantly running from drivers and out smarting them. I have been all over the country and even spent time in Canada." Then Rose interrupts "how did you escape the driver that must of taken you when you where five?" Carly then answers "My parents didn't except the fact that I was a shadow until I was six, and the driver did put me in the cage but he felt guilty of what he was doing to his own kind. He raised me for the next few years, teaching me how to use my powers until he was captured..." Carly starts to tear up.

"Oh! I'm sorry! I shouldn't have asked." Rose apologized. "It's fine. I just miss him." Carly says. Benny hugs her. "What about I give you a tour of the fire station." Rose says. "Yeah!" Benny says cheering. They all stand up. Rose points to a pile of rubble "That is where I hide stuff children give me." "You have children around here?" Carly asks "well since I have the power to make them believe I am a different animal or person, I make them think I am a black cat. I never get close to them but I let them see me, I'm like their mascot when they come here."

"There is not much on this floor, up above is where I live." She points to the fire pole. "The kids never can get up here. Rose goes up on tippy toes and pulls down a rope ladder. "Come on up.".
