Chapter Seven

Soundwave woke up and went to get up, worried about Silverdust, but found that he couldn't move. Looking around, he discovered that he was surrounded by Autobots. He tried to broadcast his location to the warship but found that he couldn't. He had no idea where he was and that scared him. Through the fake bond with Silverdust, he could feel her pain, but he didn't know why. He tried to send her comfort but it did nothing to help, and he knew he needed to get back to her quickly.

"Because we had the foresight to shield our new base, our captive will be unable to transmit his coordinates to the Decepticon warship", the Autobot medic said.

Soundwave grimaced under his visor. He was stuck at the Autobot base, with no way to help, and Silverdust was all alone on the Decepticon warship. He prayed to Primus that she would be okay, and that her sire would not be too harsh while he was away.

"And in turn, they will not be able to pinpoint his location." Soundwave silently glared at the Prime, but then realized he did not see the mech he had secretly promised to keep safe. Not even Silverdust knew that he was trying to keep Heatwave safe. He was only doing it for her. He didn't care for the mech, and would be okay if he died, but Soundwave also did not want Silverdust to lose the mech she loved. That's why he put aside his own feelings for her, and was working to help her escape. Putting together a few recordings, he spoke to the Autobots.

"Where is.... Heatwave?" he asked. The Autobots glanced at each other. The medic was the one to speak.

"Why do you care where he is?" Ratchet asked harshly. Soundwave hesitated, and tried to put together some recordings that would explain everything clearly, but could not. So, he sighed softly, and with a soft click, his visor rose up, allowing everyone to see his face. He looked around at the Autobots, and noted that they all had shocked faces. It made him smile lightly, before the smile turned to a frown.

"I promised Silverdust I would keep him safe. She doesn't know I promised this, but I took it upon me to make sure he doesn't die", Soundwave explained, his voice quiet and soft. He was afraid of how they would react.

"So he actually does have a face!" a high pitched voice exclaimed, and Soundwave winced. He looked up, and saw the three humans the Autobots had taken upon themselves to protect. It was the only femme  of the three. Soundwave rolled his eyes.

"What, did you think I didn't have a face?" he snarked. A shocked look came across the femme's face at the same time one came across Soundwave's. He sighed softly. "I think I've spending too much time with that silver femme."

The Autobot scout spoke up. ::You've had contact with Silverdust?!" he exclaimed in excitement.

"Of course I have! Her sire did force her to be my sparkmate", Soundwave growled. A look of shock crossed over everyone's face, but there was an especially scary one on the Prime's face. Soundwave sighed, and briefly closed his optics.

"She's not actually my sparkmate. I couldn't force her to do that. I know she loves Heatwave, and I'm not as cold-sparked as her sire. I've been working on a way to help her escape."

"Heatwave said she couldn't leave because of the circlet on her helm", the new rookie spoke up. Soundwave sighed.

"She can't. I have been slowly working on disabling the encryption on it, but I can't do too much for too long without catching the attention of Megatron. I am almost halfway done with disabling it."

"Why are you helping her?" the Prime rumbled. Soundwave closed his optics as wave of sadness washed over him.

"Well... you do anything you can for those you love", Soundwave spoke as he opened his optics. A painful smile crossed over his face. He watched as all the Autobots had varying degrees of shock on their faceplates. Before they could say anything else, they received a call. Soundwave didn't pay much attention, but soon several of the Autobots left through a groundbridge. The only ones left were the medic, who went to another corner to work on something, and the three Rescue Bots, as well the bulky green mech, and the rookie.

Bulkhead and Smokescreen started talking, but Ratchet got their attention. "Would you two stop yapping, and help me figure out what the Decepticons are plannin to build?!"

"We're building the omega lock", Soundwave said instantly. "On the warship. Silverdust has no idea. She's been kept in the dark on a lot of things."

"Is that why she was surprised to see Heatwave and myself when we stormed the Decepticon warship last?" the blue rescue bot asked. Soundwave nodded.

"Up until that point, she had no idea that you guys were still alive. She thought you were all dead."

The rescue bots eyes all dimmed. "She probably has no idea how the Burns' are doing either..." the green rescue bot murmured quietly.

"I can inform her once I get back to the warship", Soundwave offered.

"What makes you think you'll be leaving?" Ratchet asked sharply. Soundwave didn't say anything as a dark skinned man entered the building. Soundwave heard the familiar sound of Laserbeak. She burst in through a window and started shooting at the Autobots. Soundwave watched as one of the mechs got a lucky shot before Laserbeak finally broke his restraints and reconnected with his chassis, giving him a new directive.

Soundwave's visor clicked down and he used his tentacles to shock and knock out all of the Autobots except the medic. He started moving towards Ratchet, before the sight of the red mech Silverdust was in love with laying down, unconscious with a large wound in his torso. He saw that the mech was barely alive, and he sighed softly.

He spoke without lifting up his visor. "Will he survive without you here?"

Ratchet hesitated. "I don't think he will." Soundwave nodded once.

"Can we use his shifter to make him look like Wavesmasher again? Then Knockout will be able to help him as well as you", Soundwave said. Ratchet hesitated again.

"It might work. But it might also make his wound worse", the medic said.

Soundwave frowned. "That is a risk we must take."

"Why?" Ratchet asked. Soundwave sighed.

"I've been ordered to take you back to the Decepticon warship", Soundwave said. "And it is not like me to fail. But I also don't want to leave Heatwave this injured. Silverdust would never forgive me if I did."

Ratchet nodded. "Will you help us fight back against the Decepticons, if it ever came to it?" Soundwave hesitated, before nodding.

"I will. But only for Silverdust."

And with that, they shifted Heatwave to Wavesmasher and Soundwave dragged him through a groundbridge into the medbay. Ratchet offered to help, but Soundwave denied it, saying it would look weird if an Autobot was helping a Decepticon, especially when said Autobot was technically a captive of the Decepticons. As soon as they were on the warship, a couple vehicons placed Ratchet's servos in handcuffs and led him away to the brig. Meanwhile, Soundwave sent a private com-link to Silverdust to meet him at the medbay, and another one telling Knockout to prepare the medbay. With that, he carried Wavesmasher to the medbay, hoping that it would not be too late to save him.
