Nihilism
She did not stop running for a very long time.
By the time she finally stopped, she was so far from home that the surroundings were completely unfamiliar to her. She could barely get a grip on what she was seeing anyway, as intense emotions, rage, fear, despair, all burned through her head and blurred her vision.
Everything was over. She had fucked it up one more time. She had traumatized the last person left on the planet who truly cared about her. There was nothing left for her but death.
But that wouldn't be fair. The world would stop turning, just as it had in the other universe. Death was the easy way out. She needed to punish herself for the rest of time.
She continued along, until she came across a lake. She padded along the shore of the lake until she came to a cave, and she went in.
Jan laid down on the cold, dank floor of the cave, and curled up on herself. The humid air made her fur clump and made her feel clammy and unpleasant.
A perfect place to spend an eternity of punishment.
She closed her eyes, whimpering softly, clutching her tail in her paws and feeling sorry for herself, hating her entire being, and so she went to sleep.
