Chapter Three

Amelia's POV

Hearing the bell ring, I sighed and gathered my books to head to my last class.

"Hi," Amelia, people greeted left and right. My only problem was, I couldn't connect to any of them. I felt empty, as if not even a friend could match my vibe. Maybe this is part of the path that was chosen for me.

A witches life.

As I headed to my next class, I felt a strange aura behind me. The hallways were empty, not a soul in sight. "I can scream," I told myself. "But I don't want to risk anyone dying. I'll just run!"

As I felt the presence come closer and closer, I took off running to the nearest door, and opened it. Running as fast as I've ever could, they swooped in front of me, almost making me stumble.

"Well look who finally caught up," I said trying to make myself seem tougher than what I really am.

"Our little witch bitch," the blonde one said. "We need you to do a spell for us."

"I don't do spells for vampires ass wipe," I hissed.

"You will if you want your life! We know all about the journey you are suppose to take. We want to stop it and hand her over to our leader," said the ginger haired one.

"I don't even know her yet, and why would I? I told you, I don't help vampires anymore."

"That's right! The last time you did, a spell was placed on your father and a threat on the rest of your family right? Covens are really a pain in the ass, aren't they."

I bit my tongue, just to keep from crying. Shaking my head, I put their words to the side. "Try to be brave," I told myself.

"The Vampire King wants her and what he wants, he gets," the blonde threatened.

"Oh yeah? Well tell him to go to hell," I said turning around. Feeling my hair being gripped, I yelped out in pain.

"We weren't asking!" They laughed as tears fell from my cheeks.

"Ahhhh! My arm," one yelled as his arm was cut off. We turned to see this man standing there with a hand full of knives. He smirks and asked, "Are you okay?"

He looked right at me, and my heart started to race like a stampede. It felt as if I was born again. I could feel his aura matching mine perfectly.

"I'm fine," I said.

His attention turned back to the vampires, and finished them off. Within that moment, I knew he was the one for me. He was now my reason to live.

As it all happened so fast, my body falls to the ground next to his. "Thomas? Baby, wake up!" Shaking him, his body is limp.

"What have I done? What have I done?" I hear Irina repeat over and over. I hear something drop and look up to see Thomas's heart on the ground, with Irina holding her head as tears flows like a waterfall. My thoughts go back to Thomas.

"You can't die yet! You weren't suppose to." Picking up his lifeless head, I put it into my lap and stroke his hair. "We only had a few more months until we were to be married. We were going to have babies, and be a family. You can't leave me! Please. I need you." My voice goes soft at the end as I barricade my face in his chest and scream.

Feeling something touch my arm, I look up to see Irina trying to comfort me. Rage consumes my tears in an instant.

"Don't you dare touch me! Get away from me!" I scream.

Irina's face turns to shock, and her regret is easily detected. "I'm sorry. I blacked out. I didn't mean to." With a blink of an eye, Irina disappears with the same speed she used to kill Thomas.

Tears fill my eyes once again as I scream to the world and my hate for Irina starts to grow.

Irina's POV

"Aiden!" I scream.

"Aiden!"

Running, I rub tears out of my eyes to see. "Aiden please! Help me!" Feeling as if the world is spinning, I start to panic.

"I told you that you needed more time. You are a danger to people," I hear a calm voice say. Turning around, I see Aiden and a short woman behind him glaring at me.

"I-I didn't mean to! I didn't even know I did it! I would've never killed Thomas. I don't even know what happened. Please Aiden, please help me."

Aiden appears in front of me and sighs. "I can help you, but you must listen to me before you rip someone else heart out."

The short woman smiles, and winks at me. My eyes widen and I look to Aiden with a worried look. "She's not going to kill me, right?"

Ezra's POV

"Still no sign of her," Rick says coming to my side.

I consume the bottle of wine and sit up in my chair. "Rick, you need to find her."

"We've been at it all day. If she's hiding, she clearly doesn't want to be found," Rick says turning to walk out of the room.

"She doesn't get to make that decision!" I growl, throwing the empty bottle. Rick stops and turns around with a confused look on his face.

"Who are you to decide that for her?"

"Her protector! She's carrying my child so I get to make the decisions that are best for her!"

"Do you even know what's best for her Ezra?"

Ezra opens his mouth, but says nothing.

"Have you tried to take the time out to get to know her? She has been through so much for you controlling ass, and you've done nothing but tell her what to do! She's carrying your child, yes; but she is also that child's mother too. If she never came back, I wouldn't blame her. You've been a shitty person to her Ezra. She doesn't need a protector. She needs a friend." Rick turn around and storms out of the room.

Sighing, I can only think of one last place where Irina can be. "Aiden, you better not have laid a finger on her."

Irina's POV

Turning over on the living room couch, I snuggle the cover close to me and open my eyes. Seeing eyes staring right back at me, I jump up.

"What the hell is your problem lady!"

She leans back and smiles. "Aiden told me to watch you."

"I'm pretty sure he didn't tell you to be that close!"

"He didn't, but I just did it so I could get this reaction."

"I see why you're his ex wife," I say pulling the cover over my head and rolling back over.

"What did you just say?" She asks turning me over. "I dare you to repeat it!"

Growling, I throw the cover and stand up. "Do you think I'm afraid of you? Do you think I give a shit that you are a werewolf, or a vampire, or a witch? I don't care! Therefore, I will say it again.  'I see why you're his ex wife!' I don't want Aiden, you can have him. He's all yours. Just leave me out of your love drama, okay?" Pushing pass her, I see the front door and stomp to it.

As soon as I open the door, Aiden is standing there with a frown on his face. "Sit back down."

Throwing my hands in the air, I grunt. "Can I just take a walk? It's just too stiff in here!"

"Between you and your ex wife, I'll go crazy here."

"Vivian," Aiden starts. "Why must you aggravate me? Leave!"

Vivian opens her mouth, shuts it, and disappears. I turn to look at Aiden and shake my head. "Y'all need to just bone and get that out of the way." Walking back towards the couch, I hear Aiden grunt, and turn around to see Ezra holding him by his neck.

"Ezra, what the hell are you doing?"

"You sick son of a bitch!"

"We have the same mother Ezra. Now, release me."

"What is Irina doing here?" Ezra growls.

"She's here by her own free will, now let go before things get complicated."

Ezra let's Aiden go but still stands close to him. "She's coming with me. Irina, lets go."

"No!" I shout, tired of being treated like a child. "I'm staying, and I don't want to hear a thing about it. Since you've been in my life, you just tell me what and when to do things. That ends now. The only time I will be over there, is when I do my check ups. Until then, I do not want to see your face."

Anger rushes through his face as he lets out a frustrating growl. He walks to me and takes my arm, making me push him. "Let go of me!"

His body flys through the air, making the wall catch him. Once he hits the ground, I walk back to the couch, pick up the cover, dust it off, and lay down. "You disappoint me," I whisper.
