{Chapter 5}

"Oh my God..." I said. It was crazy. He was watching my family! He had a map of all the places we had ever been to, lived at, gone... OH MY LORD! He had a list of my favorite things to do, and all of them were correct!

"What the hell is going on?" Phoenix asked. It even had little statuettes of my family, and one of Phoenix! I saw a very old-looking bottle and picked it up off the floor. It said benzodiazepines on the front, and I had no idea what that meant. I quickly whipped out my phone and copied the word. "OH MY GOD WHAT IS THAT THING YOU'RE HOLDING?!" Phoenix said, pointing to my phone and slowly backing away.

"Sh! Benzodexipines or whatever the name is means..." I said waiting for the search to load...

"Anxiety prescription... So Magnus had anxiety...?" I asked.

"What's anxiety?" Phoenix asked me.

"Oh, yeah that's right, there weren't names for these types of things back in the 1800's... Anxiety is a type of disorder that people can have. It is pretty common, and not the worst disorder out there by far. Anxiety means being really hyper, and always active and anxious about something. It means that you're nervous about something almost all the time. But this prescription can't be from the 1800's, or even really the early 1900's... Wait there is a date on it! September... ugh, I can'tread it... September 14, 2004... Which means that Magnus was here while I was alive... Which means that it couldn't be my dad, because he has been with me since the day of my birth."

"I'm having trouble understanding all of this... So if Magnus was here the whole time, then the prophecy must be wrong, because it said it would brake in the year of 2015, when Magnus would return. But if Magnus never left, then..."

"Then something is really wrong," I concluded. "We need to talk to that spirit-ghost-thing again, maybe it can give us some more answers."

"Yeah, but we can't exactly conjure up ghosts, he has to come to us." Phoenix pointed out.

"Ugh, your right. Alright, this is the plan: I will meet you back here in three days, and I will find a way to conjure up ghosts on the Internet-"

"Internet?"

"It's nothing, anyway, I will meet you back here in three days, and meanwhile, I will watch my dad and see if he does anything suspicious... I don't think he is Magnus, but if he looks like him and everything, maybe there is a chance..."

"Alright, three days it is then."

*_*_*_*

It was now October 24, and I was running out of ideas. How was I supposed to get something I couldn't see to come to me? For some reason, the internet didn't have an situations that fitted mine.

Unfortunately...

My dad seemed completely innocent, and my mom was getting on me about writing a story to present to the writing school I was going to meet with on the 31st. So I wrote what I had experienced: I wrote what was happening right now with Magnus and the ghost and the curse. It isn't like someone would believe it was real, and as far as I am concerned, no one had wrote a story like it.

What was Phoenix going to say? I took some of the papers from the crazy room we were in, so I could understand what Magnus's motives were.

He was a weirdo. He said that he loved his family, but he would have to betray them eventually... But I don't think that it is my dad. He cared about me a lot, even more than my mom.

I saw Phoenix at this old little store that was extra dusty. She was walking around. "Hey," I said. She saw my and smiled. "Hi, Xavier!" She said, in a rather good mood.

"Why are you so chipper?" I asked.

"I figured out how to get the ghost back! I read it in this book that Magnus had, it said that he would blow cigar smoke out into the sky, and then say 'Will the ghost of Errie Falls reveal itself to me?' and then the ghost will possibly reveal itself!" Phoenix said.

"Okay, when are we going to do it?"

"It said that he did it at midnight everytime and it made the outcome more likely that the ghost will come to us. "

Alright, at midnight tonight we can do it." I said.

I then went home and asked my dad if he had ever been here before.

"No, Xavier, i haven't... Your mom grew up in Maine, though." He said.

Well it couldn't be my mom, so I pressed on. "So how is your new job? I haven't seen you go there yet..."

"Well, obviously! My job doesn't start until November, but I had to get some things worked out about work and-"

"Sorry, i just realized that I have to um... Write my story some more, so bye!" I said, not wanting to hear the rest of his story.

I went to the bunker room one more time to see that everything was all right.

But it wasn't.

When I got to the room, everything was taken, from the papers on the ground, to the maps on the walls. And it had to be Magnus, because the only other person who knew about the room was Magnus, and Phoenix, but she wouldn't take the important information from the entire room!

I told my parents that I was going to be sleeping and then I snuck out of my house. (I couldn't tell them the truth otherwise they might lock my in a mental hospital...)

It was almost Midnight, and I met Phoenix in the place we agreed to meet. "Phoenix, everything in the bunker was stolen!" I said.

"Oh no! Was it Magnus?!" She asked.

"I don't know...Wait, it's almost midnight, we can ask the ghost!" I said. I checked the time on my phone and saw that it was 2 minutes until Midnight.

That was one thing we got lucky about. I stole Magnus's cigar collection from his bunker before the stuff got stolen. Now we could light it and call the ghost to us.

"Midnight, do it now!" I said to Phoenix. She nodded, and lit the match. The cigar caught, and we let the smoke go into the air. Pheonix and I both said at the same time, "Will the ghost of Eerie Falls reveal itself to us?"

At first nothing happened.

And then, in the smoke that was in the air from the cigar, a face appeared in the night.

It had worked.
