Ok , I have to say this because it's been on my mind. Why do people always almost mess up a classic? I can think of twice this happened with Prince.

One, when doves cry, I was watching a behind the scenes of purple rain documentary and they wanted Prince to add more instruments to it, what?, are you serious? Prince had to  call a guy and say" you like the song right?". The guy was like "yeah of course" . Then Prince asked if he would back him on keeping the song the way it was. That's right !, fight for your art Prince!

Two, Kiss

They thought it sounded " unfinished" or like he recorded it in a basement. It was too stripped down for their liking, to me that made it more groovy and funky, like I heard the lead of the bangles say, " In classic Prince manner, he went to town on that song". I say this to say stand your ground, people will try to mess your stuff up, two major classics that could have been totally different if Prince had  gave in.
