Shourya's POV

My eyes fell on the clock as it was already past noon. Huffing and leaning back on my chair, I closed my eyes just to take a minute for myself. Random thoughts filled my brain most of which included Anah in them.

A couple weeks back if somebody have told me that I would be this rounded up by a girl, I would have literally knocked him off to shake some sense into him but here we are sitting amidst of several dozens of files but still in thoughts of her.

Is it love? No Shourya it's too early for it.

Statistics says it takes 88 days  for men to fall in love so keeping that in mind, I have been with her for atleast a good week. Ah the heights I am going for a week's infatuation. Oh yes! Infatuation is the word for what I feel for Anah.

Somebody's knock brought me out of my reverie and stood there my junior, captain Shergill. Saluting me he continued " Sir, Col. Bakshi has asked for you in his cabin ".

My nerves ticked at the mention of col. Bakshi. Whenever he called me it's either because of a mission or because of some mishap happened in my last mission.

My last mission...

Pinching the bridge of my nose I softly nodded as he went away. Following his que out, adjusting my hat on my head I went straight towards Col. Jamsher Bakshi's cabin. Knocking a couple times, I entered on getting a positive response.

Saluting him rigidly as be gestured me to relax. As I took the offered seat he stated,  "Shourya I have a news for you". Wheels in my brain churned accounting numerous possibilities when he continued " You see, in your last mission the 'Blue Bird', we lost the ' black knight' and on investigating we found some contradicting evidence."

What next he said made me curl my fist in anger and agony. After conversing for a few more minutes, I took his leave. Before I could leave he called for me " Shourya, nothing personal. Just remember that. By the way congrats, I have heard that you are getting settled. Best of luck my boy."

With a thin smile I nodded and proceeded out. How could they do this. Doesn't any soldier means anything to them. Is it all because of the nation or something else.

As I entered my cabin my phone rang, " Yes Maa?", " Beta when will you be back, you said you didn't had much work. Anah is already here. You better be back in 10 minutes". Before I could say anything she hung up.

मां भी ना...

Sighing hard I just grabbed my stuff and went out. My house and the cant. Area wasn't far. Soon I reached, entering the hall I called for maa when my eyes fell on a certain someone sitting amidst of flowers in the mandir looking at me with a soft smile.

Oh Anah..

Mesmerised by her simplicity my feet on their own walked towards her. The haze broke as her reprimanding voice filled in.  "Shoes!". Noticing I almost entered the mandir area with shoes on, I rose my hands up in mock surrender.

She smiled as I took the shoes off and walked towards her. After mocking her about her driving, a soft body crashed into my legs as they tried to hug me.

"Chachu you back. You know Chachi is going to decorate the mandir?" Her doe eyes widen. I couldn't help but to grin like a an idiot as the thought brought peace to my heart for a moment.

"Chachi haan? Since when did you agreed to our marriage Anah, you should have told me afterall I am the groom. We would be spending all of our life together so we should let each other know about our thoughts and feelings. Oh wait were you afraid that I'd say no."

Her jaw ticked as she restrained herself from cursing me. Rolling her eyes and settling with a sigh, she just resumes her work totally ignoring me. Oh no, you don't get that option when you are with me.

"So Anu, do you like your chachi?" Before she could say anything Anah interupted, "Anu I thought we were friends, how can I be your chachi & friend together you gotta choose one."

"Well you can be both chachi and a friend to her, what's wrong in that?", "I dont want Anu to get confuse, afterall she is a child".
Before I could retort, bhabhi jumped in.

"You chachu and you miss friend both of you better do your jobs or else if mom comes and see you both bickering like husband and wife already you'd be married in no time", you can hear the authority in her voice.

I looked at Anah and found her already looking at me. Giving her a wink I left her with a lingering smile on her lips. That's how I want her to smile specially the ones which I bring on her face spread peace in my heart.

Entering the kitchen I found maa working passionately on I assumed, Sooji Halwa when I hugged her from behind. "Oh! This boy. Yoh gave me a heart attack. You are such an army man even your footsteps can't be heard specially with my old ears."

"Excuse me, ma'am who's old in here? You are a wonderful young women and always be. Don't call yourself old maa I don't like it you know that".

"Why what's wrong in accepting the reality. I am just here for a decade or so then I would be watching all of you from the sky above and-" cutting her off I just hugged her tightly."Don't say it maa, please."

I felt her rubbing my back in concern "What happen, are you okay beta? Is their something bothering you?" Giving her a fake smile and reassuring her that things are okay at work, I went for my room to take a quick shower.

I was about to enter my room when I heard footsteps coming up the stairs. Peeking from above, I found Anah climbing upstairs with some clothes in hand. Grinning to myself I quietly went into my room but left the door unlocked.

As she was about to turn towards the guest room, I opened the door from hiding behind it a lil, as if the wind let the door slide. Hearing the sound of her footsteps approaching I gave myself a mental pat. Soon she pulled the door and closed it.

Before she could leave I again pulled the door a lil as it open ajar but this time a little more, as I saw her hand on the knob I pulled her from her hand and she screamed.

I backed her up against the now closed door and covered her mouth. Her heart was thumping so loudly against my chest that's when I noticed the proximity between us.
It was intoxicating. I have never been this close to any woman.

Her eyes were searching for mine in the dim lighting of the room and as if on being found she felt relaxed. Slowly uncovering her mouth, " Sorry didn't meant to scare you like I did plan to prank you but not like this. I am sorry Anah. Are you okay?" She nodded.

"You scared me Shourya." She punched my shoulder and she punches like a pro. "Ouch! You broke my arm Anah" I faked being in pain and tumbled back reaching for her. I was about to grab her hand when she walked away and I fell on the ground with a thud.

"Ah!" Rubbing my back I sat on the ground while she laughed. I smiled. Soon she came and crouched in front of me, pinched my cheeks and ran away "Later alligator"

I laughed at her corny dialogue. Soon I was up on my feet, went for a shower and changed into pooja outfit. I reached downstairs and saw bhabhi looking at me with a smile but then her eyes averted towards something else and her smile widen.

Following her sight I turned and my heart stopped. She stood their cladded in a beautiful purple saree with no jewels just a pair of diamond studs and a watch with her hair in soft waves with a black bindi gracing her forehead. Her eyes had this deep Kohl in them that I just wanted to drown. Bollywood I know.

Someone came by my side and sung
