I decided to publish this on the Wattpad version of The Prodigies because why not? So here it is! The Q and A chapter! The questions are all out of order, and I haven't specified who asked which question. If I forgot about your question or missed a question you really wanted to see the answer to, tell me and I'll just add it in! Here we go!

What was your inspiration for The Prodigies?
The Prodigies was inspired by The Girl Who Could Fly by Victoria Forester. I read the book a few years ago, and there were several aspects of the book I wanted to change. So I turned The Prodigies into that book. Originally, Kenny was supposed to solve the Calculus problem she did for Miss Kaylee in front of her entire class and then get sent to St. Thomas Aquinas, a school for academically gifted children. Her enemy was to be Gene, not Einstein, and she was to find out that Einstein was her brother. Gabriel or the entire idea of Gifted people wouldn't have existed had it not been for me reading The Girl Who Could Fly and then thinking, what if the entire story was a whole lot less wholesome and a whole lot more scientific?

Where did Crash, Gilly, and the escaped children go?
I can't tell you anything about this! But it will be explained it the sequel.

Does Gabriel know who Einstein is? And why did Miss Kaylee leave Gabriel?
Gabriel has no idea Einstein exists, and Einstein didn't know about Gabriel until Miss Kaylee questioned him on the whereabouts of his brother. She left Gabriel in Snowcoast because she didn't know he existed, either.

What did Miss Kaylee find that would let her keep her job, and what about Kenny's other friends?
Sadly, Kenny's other friends are stuck at AGC. They don't know anything about the Nursery or lacumemine-- they don't even know Miss Kaylee's qualified to be a scientist, much less the head scientist of a series of inhumane experiments. They're safe, but they'll have no idea as to what happened to their friends.
I can't say what Miss Kaylee found! That's the one thing I still have up my sleeve; I haven't even told my closest friends about it (*cough cough* emm can't give you spoilers anymore *cough cough*).

Is Einstein secretly growing affectionate for Kenny? Whether as a sibling, friend, or more than that?
Einstein and Kenny are growing less hostile towards each other, but there is still palpable tension between them. However, it's less of a secret and more of something that they both ignore and/or ridicule. They've begun to treat each other like siblings do the moment after their guardian breaks up a fight between them. (This usually includes whispered insults and pretending not to hate each other as much as you usually do when others are around, but it also includes apologies for previous actions and tolerating each other when trying to reach a common goal-- like trying to escape a prison that's pretending to be a school, for instance XD.)

Why doesn't Kenny talk?
Kenny has a rare childhood anxiety disorder called selective mutism. It's usually caused by social anxiety; almost all children who grow up with selective mutism find out they have SAD when they're older. This is why at the beginning of the story, she constantly questions herself whenever she's around others. However, as the book goes on, she becomes more comfortable at AGC and starts questioning the people around her rather than herself. Why were the Academy for Gifted Children and the Nursery really made?
AGC was built for Gifted children to become literate and get an education-- there is no secret meaning or anything. However, the reason the Nursery was created is a whole different story...that will be talked about in the second book. Or third book, if we ever get that far.

What's a Gifted Guardian?
A Gifted Guardian (or Gift Guard) is someone who watches over children who can't make it home for summer break. (The Academy for Gifted Children is open during winter and spring break.) Because Einstein's mother went missing and there was no one to take care of him while the school was closed, he was sent to stay with Crash over the summer. Being a Gift Guard is a lot like being a foster parent-- you need dozens of papers and qualifications to be considered, and you'll need to be able to feed and care for the child in your care. Once summer's over, an iWAB agent is sent to bring the child back to AGC.

Why didn't Miss Kaylee read Kenny's mind and catch her thinking about the files, the journal, or the escape plan?
I was going to explain in the sequel; Miss Kaylee can only read the minds of people who know less than her. Kenny knows a substantial amount of information in several different topics, so Miss Kaylee can't read her mind. Even if someone knows how to change a tire and she doesn't, Miss Kaylee is unable to read their mind. However, names aren't included in all of this. She can read children's minds quite easily, but anyone over the age of approximately nine years old starts to learn about topics she's unfamiliar with.

Who is Miss Kaylee?
Miss Kaylee isn't exactly a real person. She's more of a persona of Dr. Anderson that is used whenever she's around children. Kenny refers to her as Miss Kaylee because that's the side of her she first met, but I find it's easier to think of them as two different people. Dr. Anderson is the head scientist on the Nursery project and a side that will be more efficiently portrayed in the next book, white Miss Kaylee was a joyful teacher at Cute Cuddly Care. Notice how in Chapter 8, her persona changes while she speaks to Dr. Zhang, and she's referred to as Dr. Anderson for the rest of the chapter.

Will we get more info on the teacher's backgrounds? And will we learn more about Einstein's brother?
There will definitely be more about Gabriel in the sequel! And there will be more information on certain teachers backgrounds. For example, I might explain the pasts of Dr. Anderson, Mr. Roberto, and Mr. Old as Time, but I'll leave out Mr. Gupta, Mrs. Lin, and the rest of Kenny's teachers.

What happened while Kenny was Blacked Out in the last chapter?
While Blacked Out, Kenny found she was able to travel back in time in Einstein's body and then change time when she stepped out of it. She realized her dreams were actually visions of the past, and the reason she couldn't move while she was having them was that she couldn't change the past. Once she stepped out of the body she'd used to glimpse the past, however, she was able to call out to Gene. But because she was no longer attached to a single person, she began to have dozens of other visions where she hopped around in time. And then she met the oh so interesting messenger who will be in the sequel. I'm quite excited for that.

Why was Miss Kaylee brainwashed?
Miss Kaylee was brainwashed because while she was searching for evidence that Kendall was Gifted, she abandoned her job at AGC for almost two months before bringing Kenny to the school with her. They brainwashed her so she wouldn't be able to go AWOL again, even if she tried. It'd drive her crazy if she wasn't working at AGC.

What's Einstein's real name?
Ah! This is a dreaded question I've thought about millions of times! Einstein's real name is something that I'm still trying to figure out. But as of right now, it's Aiden! (This is a secret to my readers on Quotev. Shh! XD)

When's the sequel coming out?
I've been writing out the plot for the second book for a while. I have to finish this process before I start writing, or else the entire story will fall apart in my hands. I have an entire ten-page document written on The Prodigies' plot, characters, and setting-- and that was just book one. But I've set my deadline at the end of September. (EDIT: HAHAHA, THAT'S FUNNY.) If I haven't published anything by then, you all have permission to spam me as much as possible.

Will there be any heated scenes in the next book?
Not unless by heated, you mean action-packed. I'm not very good at romance, especially the *awkward cough* sexual type of romance.

Can you give us a brief summary of the plot of the next book?
Well, there'll be a lot more action now that Kenny and her friends are on the run with a mysterious AGC alumnus and his lady friend. The painting Kenny saw while she was Blacked Out also comes into play for a bit. All I can really say is that it probably won't have the same mood as The Prodigies did-- but then again, most sequels rarely do.
