Chapter 7

Lilly:

I have never experienced a proper shoot before. It is a lot more impressive than I was imagining. There are staff everywhere. Camera staff, filming staff, makeup staff, designer staff, heaps of producers, so many people!

My jaw drops as I scan the room, hungrily feeding my soul, my dream. This is what I want to be a part of. This is what I want to do. I want to be one of the producers over there, talking strategies and organising the schedule. I want my priorities to be worrying about celebrities and making sure the lighting is perfect.

This, right here, is my dream. Sure, I could focus on being a songwriter. But this entire environment is luring me in as if the behind-the-scenes concept is my true desire.

"You alright, Min Lilly?" I spin around to see Namjoon watching me carefully.

"Yeah, I'm just excited" I beam, turning to talk to him, "This is my dream job,"

"You want to be a singer?" Namjoon smirks.

"No," I roll my eyes. Everyone assumes I want to be a celebrity of some kind. Far from it, "I want to be behind the scenes. Either a producer or a songwriter, but hopefully both," I bounce on the balls of my feet as happiness floods my body.

This is awesome!

"Really?" Namjoon nods his head thoughtfully, "Who do you want to work for?"

"I was thinking of a big American company, but honestly, I'll work for anyone," Namjoon smirks again as if he is hiding something.

"I see," He turns and walks into the changing rooms, leaving me frowning.

"Why does Namjoon look so pleased?" Yoongi asks, startling me as he appears to merge out of the shadows behind me.

"I'm not sure," I turn to face Yoongi, folding my arms, "I just told him I want to be a producer and songwriter,"

Suddenly, Yoongi's eyes light up and he beams down at me. My heart skips a beat as I stare, wide-eyed, at this guy's sudden cuteness. He has an adorable gummy smile and bright eyes. It's as if when he smiles he covers the whole world in beauty. He doesn't smile widely often. But I think that's because the world couldn't handle such cuteness.

How can this badass man have such an adorable side?

I blush as I already feel the 'sexy' montage rolling through my head. Vivid pictures of Yoongi's straight face, his sexy swagger, and his badass aura.

What the fuck is wrong with me?

"You want to be a songwriter?" He asks, snapping me out of my miniature reverie.

"Yeah. It's my dream," I smile shyly. He smirks, causing the butterflies in my stomach to wake up again.

"That's really cool. I write songs for BTS with some of the other members. Would you join our entertainment if they asked you to join?"

"Yeah, that would be awesome," I beam, bouncing on the balls of my feet again. He smirks and pats the top of my head. I freeze, staring up at him as he smiles down at me.

"I'd love to hear your work, you know," he mumbles, moving a little closer, "I'm really curious about the type of music you write,"

"Oh, y-you know," I blush, "Just hip-hop and stuff. I can't really sing so my music sounds better when I rap it. I don't know too much about hip-hop history, just common chords and styles that I learnt in songwriting,"

"Woah," Yoongi sighs, "That's really awesome, seriously,"

I blush and begin stuttering. Yoongi laughs, that adorable grin almost splitting his face open. My scalp tingles from the point where he patted my head, a little reminder of his touch.

"Show me one day, okay?" I nod as Yoongi begins walking over to the changing rooms, joining the other members. I cradle my head and smack my face.

What the hell Min Lilly?! Are you just going to flirt with all the members?

I shiver, shaking my body from my confusing thoughts like a wet dog.

Just enjoy the production environment and worry about your feelings later, okay?

I nod as I glance at the changing rooms. Jimin is standing at the door, watching me. He has a strange expression on his face like I've shown him a new side of me, or I've disappointed him. I smile shyly, gesturing for him to go in.

He gives me a small smile and enters, leaving me feeling guilty.

My phone vibrates as I receive a text from my close friend. Her name is Kirra and we have been friends since primary school. We have the same dreams, so we attend the same university. However, she can sing, so she is just taking songwriting to make her future career easier.

Of course, Kirra is a big kpop fan and tells me everything about her favourite bands when they come on in the news or have an epic comeback.

I'm not going to lie, I don't have a good memory for people, so I don't remember any of the singers she has mentioned to me.

Today she has texted me because of a scandal she just read.

KIRRA: Lilly! Guess what I just saw on allkpop?

LILLY: What?

KIRRA: BTS's Jimin is in a dating scandal!

LILLY: A dating scandal? Doesn't that happen often anyway? What happened? Did they see another kpop idol with the same shirt?

KIRRA: No! This one has actual proof! An Australian fan shared a photo of Jimin meeting with a fan!

My stomach drops.

No fucking way. Did someone see us?

LILLY: From which city?

KIRRA: In Sydney! Apparently, they saw Jimin enter the company van when he left the hotel!

LILLY: What? Send me the link!

I open up the link as soon as Kirra sends it to me. It reads:

Park Jimin dating a fan?

After their world tour, a fan came forward and sent a photo to dispatch of Jimin with a girl.

Jimin is seen exiting the hotel they were staying at for the Sydney concert with an unidentified female. They are seen entering the van together.

Here is the photo:

There is a photo of Jimin from that night and a figure that is definitely me. As my blood runs cold, but I feel a little relieved. They can't identify me, they can't see my face, and they haven't used my name in the article, so the fan hasn't heard Jimin use my name.

Of course, someone was going to see us, we were in a large hotel just after the concert. Any fans that visited Sydney to attend the concert might have been there.

Why didn't I think of that?

I continue reading:

The unknown fan followed up the photo with this comment:

'He was beaming at her lovingly. I followed them, and they went to a restaurant. I couldn't get a seat near them, so I couldn't identify her. Jimin oppa gave out some autographs for the waitresses. None of them could identify her, and they didn't take any photos of her.'

Fans have been in a disarray as they try to identify the girl in question. Many fans have been angry:

"Wow... this girl has some balls trying to date a Korean celebrity like that."

"How dare she take our oppa? Who does she think she is?"

"Jimin deserves better than that!"

Some fans have been in full support:

"She's sexy. FFS don't get angry at the girl for getting his attention. You can't hate on a girl because she's more attractive than you."

"As long as she doesn't have her eyes on my hope..."

"ARMY fans are so delusional. He's not yours, just let him date!"

"ARMY, we need to support the boys, whoever they date. When we find out who it is, let's flood their page with love!"

Bighit and BTS have not responded to the rumours.

. . . . .

I shove my phone into my bag, my heart beating hard. I remember Kirra saying scandals can destroy a kpop idol because in Korean music the truth doesn't matter. What matters is the situation you have put yourself in. If taking your side could anger anyone, or if the situation is too PC, then no one will hire you for ads or TV shows.

I spin around and rush to the changing rooms. I bang on the door, yelling out to them.

"Jimin!" I yell, pounding my fist against the hardwood.

The door swings inward and I almost punch Namjoon in the chest. He shuffles me outside and closes the door.

"Lilly, what's wrong?" He asks. He is wearing velvet blue dress pants and a vest, on top of a loose button-up shirt. His hair has been teased up and he's wearing blue glitter on his face. The makeup makes him look stern and angry. It's extremely attractive.

"I-I just read an article about Jimin," I open my phone and show Namjoon. His frown deepens the further he reads on. He sighs as he finishes, closing his eyes.

"Don't worry, Lilly. Our CEO already contacted us this morning. We know. He is organising a statement to be made tomorrow. Don't worry about us. No one knows we're in Australia right now," Namjoon replies firmly, but I can see the stress in his eyes.

"Have I ruined everything?"

"Of course not, Lilly. Jimin knew what happens when you decide to date at this point. He is ready,"

I frown, still unnerved.

"Are they going to lie or are they going to confirm it?"

"Confirm what?" Namjoon smirks, "So far, you're not dating. They will definitely lie about who you are, but Jimin will confirm it when you are dating,"

"I see," I sigh, "I don't want to ruin his career,"

"It's okay. Just see what this is and go from there, okay?" Namjoon smiles kindly.

"Alright," I smirk, letting him go back into the changing rooms. A staff member steps forward and passes me a mask and a cap, just in case. I accept it gratefully.

A few minutes later, BTS exit the changing room and the shoot begins.

They begin taking group photos and then move onto single photos. Soon, the staff decide to change the scene, so BTS go on a break. Later, they will take some photos outside.

Yoongi shuffles over after a quick glance at Jimin, who is stuck talking to the producers and having makeup reapplied.

"Does it look good?" He asks, smirking cheekily.

"Yes, it looks really good," I roll my eyes, "Are you guys filming today?"

"Nah, we were meant to, but they changed their mind," Yoongi sighs as he looks down at me, "are you okay?"

I frown back.

"Why do you ask?"

"I heard about the article," He glances away, glaring in the distance, "Those comments... they were uncalled for," I scoff.

"Yeah, they were pretty nasty, but I'm not too worried anymore,"

"Why?" Yoongi passes me a water as the manager passes by with a container of water bottles.

"Well, I'm not sure what we are yet. So, I'll figure us out before I worry about what fans think about me,"

Yoongi begins choking on his water, coughing lightly.

"You mean, you're not sure yet?" he asks, his eyes wide with shock.

"I don't know," I shrug, "He might be too cheesy for me. I'm not sure. We'll see in the future,"

. . . . .

Yoongi:

"Are you saying, you might not love him?" He asks, sounding way too obvious now.

"Maybe. I'm not sure," She frowns up at him, "I might like someone else; I don't know. For now, I'm willing to see how this goes. I think I like him, but am I ready to date a celebrity? I guess we'll find out," She smiles up at him.

Yoongi's heart beats faster as he imagines texting her baby, telling her she's beautiful, writing love songs for each other.

That's as cheesy as I get.

Yoongi allows for his hopes to rise as he comes to a decision. For her to know he's an option, she needs to know he's interested.

Here it goes...

"Lilly," Yoongi takes a deep breath in as Lilly turns to him.

"What's up?"

You can do this, Yoongi.

"Can I," He clears his throat, looking deeply into her eyes, "Can I have your number?"

Lilly's eyes widen slightly as she takes in what he is suggesting. She does some quick calculations on the situation before conceding.

"Sure, Yoongi," She beams as she pulls her phone out.

Yes! I've done it!

I'm now a competitor in this game.
