Chapter 36
~6 months later~
"Bang..."
"BANGTAN!"
BTS cheers before turning and following the staff to their designated positions.
"Ready?" Yoongi looks at Jungkook. Jungkook smirks, nodding.
They both turn to their allocated positions.
BTS are about to perform their last comeback stage for the new album. Even after spending 2 months out of the public eye, the members still received multiple awards, love and praise for their new album. They have already started organizing another world tour, something the fans were very excited to hear.
The song Yoongi wrote for Lilly, 'Eternal Love', has become a hit. When its popularity grew, Bang PD organized a music video to be made. Lilly was able to star in it.
Fans from all around the world fell in love with the love song and their love for each other. It was so overwhelming and powerful, even fans who were against the relationship fell in love.
Today, Yoongi will be able to perform it alongside his members, his mind only on Lilly.
As the concert ends, after 3 songs are performed, they exit the stage. All the members feel like they have grown from the experience. The trials of fans accepting Lilly, the drama and turmoil that occurred in their time together. Every single member has learnt and grown.
As the days become longer and their feet become heavier, they keep going. They practice on days they would rather sleep. They work 24/7, making music, getting better, and progressing. Growing as a group. They will do so in the future, as they get older and find the ones they love.
Through all this, ARMY will always support and love them for what they do. For BTS and ARMY support each other and grow together. Forever.
. . . . .
Jungkook:
"Who are you messaging?" Jungkook pulls his phone into his chest, glaring up at Jimin.
"Is it a girl?" Jimin asks, teasing him even more.
"Stop," Jungkook frowns. Jimin chuckles, backing away. He rushes off to tell Taehyung. Jungkook sighs, looking down at his phone.
Jimin wasn't lying. Jungkook has been messaging a girl. As his confidence builds, he finds he's able to talk to her as comfortably as he spoke to Lilly.
Jungkook has found that his heart no longer aches when he thinks of her. He no longer longs or hopes for her to be with him.
She was his first love, but he was not hers. Over the months he has moved past his feelings, hiding them like ice under his shirt. When his heart froze over watching them during the music video shooting, the ice didn't melt as fast as he wanted it to. But when he threw himself into his work, he found it defrosted faster.
Soon, the ice will no longer exist. But at this point, his chest no longer aches or longs for her. Yoongi has started letting him hang around her when he's not around.
He no longer sees opportunities to see her or think of ways to win her over. Now she's his good friend.
At the end of the day, that's all that matters. The beginning of a close friendship.
. . . . .
Jimin:
Jimin watches Jungkook text happily.
I'm glad he's moving forward.
Jimin sighs, walking slowly into the practice room. He has never mentioned this to his friends, especially not Jungkook or Yoongi, but he still loves Lilly.
As he watches over her when she's working in the studios or practising with Jungkook, his heart aches. It's been so long since they ever had a chance together, but Jimin regrets his decisions and the end result. He wants to be closer to her, but he knows if he does become closer to her, he'll want her again. It's hard enough watching her from afar, how could he be beside her, but not in her heart?
"Hey, Jimin," Jimin looks up to see a rookie solo artist smiling at him.
"Yah," He chuckles, "I'm still your sunbae,"
"I know," She blushes, "It's just... I was wondering..."
Jimin frowns, watching her try to find the right words.
"What's wrong?" He asks, completely bewildered.
"I was wondering... if you'd like to have a drink together for something,"
"Oh," Jimin grins, "We'll be having a celebration tonight if you want to come,"
"I mean," The girl clears her throat, lifting her head and standing tall, "I meant just the two of us,"
Jimin stares at her for a moment. She is actually interested in him?
Why?
"Uh..." Jimin laughs, "Sure, I guess,"
The girl beams, her happiness radiating like sunshine. Jimin feels butterflies erupt in his stomach.
What's wrong with me?
She waves and continues walking past him. He watches her go for a moment, a small smile playing on his lips.
Maybe I can move on, maybe I'm just clinging to Lilly because of my mistakes.
Jimin nods to himself, skipping the rest of the way to the studio.
At this moment, Jimin feels like he can really connect to the song he wrote: LIE. Now from a different perspective at a different point in his life, the lyrics change each time, meaning different things. Is he caught in a lie? Does he need someone to save him?
No, Jimin smiles happily, the one that needed to save me was myself.
. . . . .
Yoongi:
Yoongi looks down at her, smiling slightly. He brushes a stray hair from her face. She looks... natural. She's no sleeping beauty. Her hair is a mess, and her mouth is slightly open. He's sure he's seen her drool before, but he can't remember when.
But, even though she looks like this, he can't help smiling as he watches her sleep. He doesn't want to wake her, not on a day like this. It's her day off and he's made time for her. Not that it was a hard thing to do.
She stirs, her arms outstretched around her. As her fingers brush against Yoongi's neck, her eyes spring open, looking directly into his eyes.
She gasps, clutching her chest. Yoongi begins laughing, rolling over onto his back.
"Yah!" She smacks his arm playfully, still looking startled, "I was so scared for a second there!"
"Good morning beautiful," He plants a kiss on her nose, making her blush.
"Why are you being so cute this morning?" She pouts, sitting up and stretching.
"Am I not allowed to be romantic now," Yoongi pretends to look aghast, "Wow, you're so hard to please,"
Lilly rolls her eyes, standing up and stretching some more.
"It's just strange seeing you act so cute,"
"Hey!" Yoongi bats her leg with a pillow, "I'm not cute! Not anymore!"
Lilly giggles, rushing out of the room. Yoongi stands and slowly follows her.
Lilly is in the kitchen starting breakfast when Yoongi finally makes an appearance. He shuffles into the kitchen, wrapping his arms around her from behind. She smiles at him, her eyes twinkling with happiness.
How did I get so lucky?
"Did you sleep well?" Lilly asks, trying to continue breakfast. Yoongi sighs, resting his head on her shoulder.
"Not really," He kisses her neck gently, "But when I woke up next to you, it all disappeared,"
"So cheesy," Lilly replies quietly, grinning.
Yoongi breathes in deeply, taking in her morning scent. She smells like soap and has a distinct morning skin smell. When he wakes from his nightmares it's intoxicating.
He watches her struggle to make breakfast, refusing to let her go.
After a longer time than necessary, she has finished making breakfast, which she carries to the dining room table. As they reach it, he lets go, taking his seat.
They eat in silence, occasionally grinning up at each other. They will be married in a month. Many people are coming from Bighit to friends and family. It will be at the wedding that Lilly will meet Yoongi's family for the first time. It's not the ideal situation, but they are happy with it.
We'll always be happy.
My first love.
. . . . .
Lilly:
As I think back over the last few months, I can't help but feel I've become closer to BTS as friends.
Hoseok has been especially good in including me, even though I was a stranger to them. He's always the one to pull me in when I feel left out, or the one to include me in conversations. He's a weirdo, but I can't help but enjoy his personality.
Jungkook is sweet, always helping me with practice and coming to me for composing advice and help. Over the past few months, we've gotten closer as friends. As time went on I noticed he became much nicer whether I was with Yoongi or not. He seems to be letting me go like I told him.
Jimin seems to be pushing me away. We practice together, and we perform together. I am always there helping backstage or just for support. But once we're alone he leaves. I think he might still like me, but he's becoming friendlier as time goes on. Hopefully, we'll be close friends, just like me and Jungkook.
Namjoon has always been there helping me and Yoongi get ourselves organized and of sound mind. He's like a fancy uncle or father figure, or that older brother that raised you. It's strange to see him that way, but I'm glad he's my friend.
Taehyung hasn't become close to me. I'm not sure if it's because he's close to Jimin and Jungkook, and doesn't want to appear close to me for Yoongi's sake. It might just be because we haven't been able to hang out. I'm just glad he's by Yoongi's side, always supporting and helping where he can.
Seokjin has opened his arms and embraced me as a mother would. He's kind and caring, but not too much. I love how he dotes on the members.
Seokjin has been a wonderful addition to my positive mental health plan. Where else am I going to find someone who just simply exists? Doing without thinking? Just, being happy. He's a breath of fresh air when I find myself overthinking or panicking. Of course, I'm sure he has his own struggles that I am not privy to. I still enjoy his company.
As the days progress, so do my friendships with these guys. These 7 strange individuals, including my fiancé. I couldn't ask for more.
I hope the years to come are tiring and exciting. I hope the members achieve their goals and dreams as I have when I moved here.
I hope they love themselves as their fans love them.
Even if the future looks grim or dark, I will be fine with Yoongi beside me, and his friends beside him.
