Chapter 25
Yoongi:
Today is the day BTS compile the songs to be used for the album. They'll have a listening session with Bang PD and the main music producers, including Lilly. So Yoongi and Lilly get to leave for work together.
As Yoongi wakes up he immediately jumps out of bed to wake Lilly up. He usually takes his time getting ready, but he really wants to be the first thing she sees when she wakes up.
As he finishes pulling on his pants, he recalls the night before.
After cuddling and talking for over an hour, Lilly had decided to go to bed early. Yoongi had tried to follow her to her room but she refused, pointing to the room he stayed in before. He pouted, trying to persuade her to let him in. But she didn't relent, and now he's banned from even entering the room.
He chuckles mischievously as he realizes he's about to break this rule.
He tiptoes out of the room, heading to her room. He opens the door slowly, peeking inside.
She is still asleep in bed, her mouth slightly open as she dreams on. Unbeknownst to her, she'll be very much awake soon.
Yoongi quietly walks over to her bed, slipping in the gap behind her. He rests his head on his propped arm, smirking down at her dreaming face.
Before he begins his plan, he watches her sleep for a moment. The way her breath almost whistles out of her slightly open mouth, how her hair is knotted and messy, how her eyes dart under her closed eyelids.
So this is what it will be like to wake up beside her.
Yoongi shakes his head slowly, still grinning. He can't think things like this whilst lying beside her in bed.
"Lilly," he whispers, "Time to get up,"
Lilly murmurs incoherently, making Yoongi shiver with excitement.
So cute.
"Lilly," He says a little more loudly, "Time to get up,"
Her eyes flutter open, wide and confused. She looks up at him, her eyes becoming wider.
She gasps, shuffling over so she's sitting next to him. She looks down at his clothes and sighs.
"Yah, you scared me," She smirks.
"What? You thought we slept together?" He asks, smirking darkly, "You'd remember that I promise you,"
"YAH!" She yells, pushing him so he falls off the bed. He rolls around in fits of laughter as her dark red face peers over the edge of the bed.
"Don't say things like that," She murmurs, her mouth hiding behind the pillow clutched to her chest. Yoongi continues to snicker, getting up from the floor.
"One day," He grins, giving her a little peck on the nose, "Hurry up, we have to be at the studio soon,"
"Okay," Lilly murmurs, gesturing to the door. Yoongi pretends to be disappointed as he waltzes over to the still open door.
"I'll start breakfast," He beams as he closes the door, rushing over to the kitchen.
Soon, they are both fed and ready for work, heading out to Yoongi's car.
"Yoongi," Lilly says, "How many songs did you compose for this one?"
"Well," Yoongi thinks for a moment, "I helped with pretty much all of them, but Namjoon and Supreme Boi did a lot of the work. I'm saving a lot of my work for an album,"
Lilly nods as they head to work, smiling and beaming like a newlywed couple.
As soon as they enter the meeting room, everyone is already there waiting for them.
Lilly bows apologetically, sitting between Yoongi and Jungkook.
The meeting is long and interesting. To summarize, Band PD and the music producers approve all of the songs, but Bang PD thinks the album is a little short.
"We need another song to pull in Jungkook and Jimin's solos, maybe a love song? Does anyone have one they'd like to add?" He asks the room. Everyone goes quiet, but Yoongi recalls the song he worked on during the period Yoongi and Lilly were broken up.
"I have one," Yoongi says, startling the room. Yoongi has worked on love songs with the group before, but they're not his style. All the songs he's written have been personal or rapper diss tracks. He's never contributed his own love song before.
The members smirk, looking between Lilly and Yoongi curiously.
"A love song? You've produced a love song?" Namjoon asks. Yoongi nods, standing up.
"It's pretty much finished. I have it on my USB," Yoongi pulls out a USB from his bag, passing it to Bang PD. He takes it, still a little shocked from Yoongi's announcement.
Yoongi begins blushing, knowing the song is extremely personal and he'll have to listen to it not only in front of Lilly but all his members. He can already see a giggle brewing behind Hoseok's eyes.
As the song begins playing, he recalls how he was feeling at the time.
It's a slightly upbeat, dramatic song, similar to Fake Love. The lyrics are about how it was love at first sight and whether she'll be able to love him for eternity, and if she doesn't, he'll love her forever. He titled the song, Eternal Love.
When the song ends, Bang PD claps enthusiastically.
"You know, for your first real love song, it's awesome! Work with a producer to fix it up, make it professional and BTS style, and then we're done. Everyone agree?"
"Yep!" Everyone chants, getting up from their seats.
Lilly fiddles with her handbag, not looking at Yoongi. After waiting for the room to empty, Yoongi places his hand gently on her shoulder.
"Are you okay?" He asks, turning her so she is facing him. Yoongi stifles a giggle as he sees her face. She is blushing so much, she looks like a tomato.
"Y-Yah," Lilly murmurs, "Is... is that song about me?" She whispers, still not looking at him. He smirks, placing his finger and thumb on her chin, gently tilting her head so she is looking at him.
"Of course it is," He grins, looking down at her shocked eyes, "Who else would I be talking about?"
"I don't know," She mumbles, "ARMY?"
"Nope," He leans forward, rubbing his nose against hers, "It's for you,"
She grins, giving him a little kiss before pulling away.
"Come on, let's go work on that song," She grabs his hand and leads him from the meeting room. His heart swells, watching her lovingly.
. . . . .
2 months later, Christmas Eve, Lilly's perspective:
YOONGI: What do you want to do tonight?
LILLY: I'm not sure. Christmas is a couple holiday, right?
YOONGI: Kind of, I just want to spend tonight with you <3
LILLY: So cute~ What do you want to do?
YOONGI: We can go look at the light shows around Seoul. They have some nice decorations during Christmas.
LILLY: That sounds fun :) but where are the light shows?
YOONGI: I like the ones at Seoul Plaza, let's go there.
LILLY: Let's do it!
YOONGI: I'll pick you up at 7 pm and we can go eat somewhere too.
LILLY: Okay, see you then.
I grin down at my phone, trying to control my butterflies. I'm not sure if he's trying to make it up to me or not, but Yoongi has become incredibly sweet and cute these days. He has left flowers in my studio, he has brought me chocolates and on our 100-day anniversary, he bought me a couple necklace. His has a key, and mine is a locket. It's really cute. It's silver with beautiful little diamonds around it. Every time I see it, I grin like a kid.
Not that the past few weeks have been 'k-drama' adorable. He's been trying to sneak into my bed and trying to go further in our relationship, but I have persistent. He pouts, which is adorable, but I know I can't do it just yet.
The BTS members have become really insistent about it too. Just the other day Seokjin asked if Yoongi's put a ring on it yet. It was embarrassing yet satisfying. He had asked me in front of Jiyoo, the girl who tried to ruin our relationship with the photos. She went a deep shade of red when he asked. Just thinking about it makes me smirk.
We haven't had a lot of time together after the album was released. He was busy making the music video and going to music awards and other performances. He's been doing a lot of commercials too. Even though he's always busy, I'm not upset. Late at night, when he crawls back home, he cuddles me and kisses me. He texts me when he has spare time on sets.
It always makes my day to receive 10+ messages a day from him, containing cute and cheesy lines that make me giggle.
It's been a busy, yet uneventful few months since we got back together. It's got much better.
I grin down at my necklace as I enter my apartment. Looking around, it feels strangely empty without him here. However, he hasn't been able to come here for over a week because of promotions.
I begin getting ready for our first date in months. I was expecting them to have schedules throughout the Christmas season, but he has time now.
I decide to wear my favourite leather jacket and jeans. I wear a cute sweater underneath and a white scarf.
Once I'm ready, I sit at the dining table, peering out the window every so often.
At 7:10 pm, I hear a knock at the door.
I jump up, rushing to the door to see him. As I swing the door open, all I see is a bouquet of roses, dark red in colour.
I grin, taking them from Yoongi's hands. He leans in and gives me a small kiss on the lips.
"Are you ready?" He asks cutely. He's wearing a blue sweater over black jeans, a black beanie, and a black scarf. He has a black mask hanging from his fingers.
The sweater looks adorable, but the black attire shows Yoongi's true side.
I nod, turning to put the roses in a vase of water on the dining room table. I feel Yoongi's arms wrap around my waist.
"It's been a week since I've been here, right?" He squeezes me gently, sighing happily. His cute aura is infectious, and I find myself swaying slightly with excitement.
"It's been a while, I've missed you," I reply, turning around so we're facing each other.
"What part did you miss?" He asks, smirking mischievously.
"Cuddling on the couch, eating dinner together," I reply, ignoring everything he is implying.
"Did you miss this?" He places his lips on mine, deepening the kiss. After tightening his grip on my waist, he lets go.
"Yeah," I sigh, slightly dizzy from the intoxicating feeling of love in my lower abdomen.
"What about this?" He asks, sliding his hands up my back and onto the nape of my neck. He kisses me again, more passionately, clinging to me like we haven't seen each other in months.
When he lets go I nod breathlessly.
"Anything else?" He asks playfully, bringing his hands down to rest on my hip bones, his thumb on the bone and his fingers around my back. I blush, brushing his fingers off.
"Yah," I mumble, hiding my face behind my hair. I hear him chuckle as he lifts my chin, parting my hair with the other hand.
"Kidding," He grins, leaving a small kiss on my nose. "Let's go,"
I let him lead me from the apartment, down to the garage where his car is waiting.
"Where are we going again?" I ask.
"Seoul plaza," He smirks, "They have some cute light shows over Christmas,"
I nod, leaving him to drive us there.
We have done a few cute couple things since we started dating, but this seems much more special after winning at those award shows. After everything we've been through, this feels much more exciting than anything we have done before.
As we arrive, I start getting even more excited, bouncing in my seat. Yoongi smirks, side glancing me, one hand on the wheel and the other clasping my hand.
The lights are beautiful. We just passed a huge Christmas tree made of lights. I couldn't even see the top.
Yoongi parks, putting on his mask and glasses, hiding every inch of his face. He fluffs up his scarf, so it covers his entire neck. There shouldn't be any fans that recognise him.
"Here," He passes me a mask, a beanie and a fluffier scarf.
"Why?" I ask.
"Because fans know what you look like now," Yoongi smirks, "You'll give me away,"
I nod, replacing my scarf with his and putting on the mask and beanie.
"Here," He leans over, adjusting the scarf so it covers my neck and hair. No one should recognise us. He pecks me on the nose over the mask and slides out of the car. I slide on some clear glasses and follow him.
Firstly, we head over to the big Christmas tree we saw from the road.
"Wah! So pretty!" I giggle, leaning back so I can look up at it.
"Let's take a photo," Yoongi whispers in my ear, pulling out a holdable selfie stick.
He takes a few photos, obviously smiling happily under his mask, even though you can't tell it's us.
"Come on, I'm hungry," Yoongi says quietly, taking my hand and leading me to the mall.
My eyes are wide, trying to take in everything. They have another large tree here with strings of lights leading from it to the businesses surrounding it. Red, blue, green, white lights, creating a beautiful light show. I grin happily, making Yoongi tighten his grip on my hand in response.
There are a few food places open. Yoongi picks one and we head in.
I order the food, so no one recognises his voice, and we wait patiently.
I feel a little sad that we can't do normal couple things on Christmas Eve, but I feel happier that we are able to do anything at all.
After eating some food, Yoongi is much more relaxed. We link arms and head down to a little river with a bridge. In the water is an assortment of lit-up Christmas trees and other decorations.
Many people are walking beside it, taking photos and talking happily.
"Let me take a photo of you," Yoongi whispers, pulling out his camera. I pose in front of the nearest ice-like sculpture, grinning widely.
"Now both of us," I mumble as he pulls the selfie stick out again. I want to pull down my mask, so we can get better photos, but I know that would be a dumb idea surrounded by all these people.
Eventually, we make our way over to the ice rink.
I jump up and down in excitement as Yoongi pays for entry. I go over and get the shoes and we put them on together.
Of all the cute things we have done tonight, this is the most cliché thing I have ever wanted to do as a couple. But the more I look around, the more couples I see. I smirk, trying to contain my happiness.
"Ready?" Yoongi asks, checking my laces.
"Yep! Let's go!" I shuffle towards the edge of the rink, a little nervous. I skated back home during winter, but that was so long ago. What if I make a fool of myself in front of Yoongi? What if I fall over and he laughs at me?
Yoongi sense my hesitation and whispers in my ear.
"It's okay, we'll look after each other, okay?"
I nod, letting him lead me onto the ice.
I almost slip immediately, but Yoongi grips my waist, steadying me. I lean onto the fence that lines the ice rink so Yoongi doesn't have to support me. Also because when he puts his hands on my waist I can't breathe.
"It's okay, come on," Yoongi whispers, holding out his hand. I take it, allowing him to guide me. Neither one of us are professionals, but we skate gracefully enough to not fall over each other.
As we glide around, I can't stop looking up at him. Even though I keep brushing his hands from my hips and waist, he continues to place them there. When I look up, he appears to be smirking playfully.
He's so touchy today. Does he really miss me that much?
I grin as I recall his sad eyes when he told me he can't stay at my house for a while because of the promotions. He must really miss me constantly.
We slide off the ice as I start complaining my ankles are hurting.
"Already?" Yoongi asks as we take our shoes over to the shoe stand.
"Yeah, I'm not as fit as you," I grin, letting him feel mollified by the comment.
We leave the plaza, hand in hand, yawning every minute.
As we get in his car Yoongi leans over, taking off his mask and glasses, looking nervous.
"What's up?" I ask as I take off my glasses and mask.
"I was wondering," Yoongi bites his lip, "If I can stay over tonight,"
I sigh. I was worried it was something important.
"Of course you can, you do anyway," I smile, putting my seatbelt on. However, Yoongi continues to look at me with nervous eyes.
"I mean... can I sleep in your bed?"
I stare, wide-eyed at him for a moment. Is he serious?
My heart leaps at the thought of it, and a very silent part of my subconscious steps forward.
You've missed him a lot. Set out some rules and let him! What could happen?
I swallow, biting my lip. Yoongi's eyes darken as he grabs my hand.
"I won't do anything if you don't want me to, I just," He takes a deep breath, "I just miss you so bad. I want to cuddle you, I want to wake up to you. If you can... please?"
Just do it! You know you missed him!
I nod shyly, making Yoongi grin happily. He places a quick kiss on the back of my hand.
"B-But no... you know," I stutter, blushing. Yoongi chuckles, putting on his seatbelt and starting the car.
"I promise I won't," He smirks as we take off.
. . . . .
A month later:
"And the winner for the Golden disk award, best album of the year is... BTS!"
I cheer with everyone else as BTS stand and head to the stage. I give Yoongi a thumbs up from backstage, but I'm not sure if he sees me.
Namjoon takes the stand, making an adorable speech for ARMYs and thanking staff, fans and members. I clap, a little teary eyed.
Just before the MC ushers them from the stage, Yoongi takes the mic.
"I just have something small to say," Yoongi says. The MC allows him.
He clears his throat and steps closer to the edge of the stage.
"I want to thank all of my fans for supporting me, my personal life and BTS, I LOVE YOU ARMY!" The fans cheer and I blush a little. I'm glad they support us now, but I can already tell there are some fans that don't agree.
"Please support us in all future endeavours!" Yoongi yells before passing the mic to the MC. Fans cheer even louder. A few tears of joy fall down my cheeks as I cheer along with them. Vanilla pats me on the back, smiling happily.
"Congrats," He grins, obviously talking about the popularity of Eternal Love. I nod, grinning happily.
I wait by the changing rooms. I bow and congratulate each member as they enter, followed by the staff that looked after the members today. Yoongi, however, hasn't shown up.
Where could he have gone?
I frown, deciding to go look for him.
I peek behind the curtains, watching as the fans slowly leave the stadium. He's not anywhere near here. I head to the hallway that leads to all the changing rooms that I passed by before.
I peer down and my heart drops.
What is going on here?
In front of a changing room door is Yoongi, talking to a girl group member from a group I don't know very well. She is most definitely flirting with him, flicking her hair over her shoulder and batting her eyelashes. Yoongi grins, his hand on his neck as he listens to her. She has long red hair and a cute smile with a dimple. Her waist is much smaller than mine and her legs are much thinner. I frown, trying to not get jealous.
Surely they're not talking like that. I bet she's just congratulating him.
I try to see if I can hear what they're saying, but the changing rooms between us are being really noisy.
Suddenly, I gasp.
The girl group member has stepped forward and wrapped her arms around his middle. Yoongi doesn't react as she squeezes him tightly.
She lets him go, spinning around and opening the door leading to her members. She waves flirtingly closing it behind her.
Yoongi turns and our eyes meet.
I involuntarily gasp, my eyes wide. I blink a few times, trying to ignore the urge to cry, before spinning around and running. I hear Yoongi running after me, calling out my name, but I can't stay here. I can't look at him. I need to breathe.
It's not what you think, it's not what you think, it's not what you think.
I let out another sob as chant this to myself, wiping the stray tears.
It's not what I think.
What do I think?
