Chapter 16
Is BTS Suga in a relationship?
Our reporters witnessed Min Yoongi of BTS, Bighit, out with a girl leaving the movies and eating together. The reporters took many photos of the pair together. After the news of Jimin being seen away from Seoul, many ARMYs are tense by the news, stating the band might be on the verge of breaking up.
Many fans expressed their outrage online:
"Another BTS dating scandal? They must be reaching the age where they stop caring about their fans anymore,"
"At least it's not Jimin this time."
"Why! Why!! Why are they betraying us like this?"
Many fans have also noted that the girl seen with Min Yoongi appears to be the same girl Jimin was seen with many months ago.
"That's the same girl! Is she going to date all of BTS? Who does she think she is?"
"I bet Jimin introduced her to them, and she jumped on the first guy who was nice to her. What a whore,"
However, some fans seem excited by the idea.
"I bet Jimin was seen taking her to see Yoongi, like a good dongsaeng. BTS can't waste their good years working! They need to date and explore the world! Would you rather they dated a bit before settling down or would it be better if they settled down with a gold digger in their 30s because they don't know how to date?"
"She does look similar... but she's foreign! I guess Suga and Jimin weren't kidding when they said they'd date an Australian girl,"
"I'll say this again: Leave them alone! They can date whoever and whenever they want."
BTS and Suga have both responded to the rumours:
Hello BTS fans. I know many fans are upset at the news of Min Yoongi dating, but the rumours are true. Suga came and confirmed the rumours with us.
We wish him the best and hope ARMY will be able to support BTS as they always have.
This was taken from the dialogue of Min Yoongi's V-live:
Dating rumours? Ah, I see everyone is here to ask me the same thing. Am I really dating now?
The answer is yes. I fell in love with her when we went to Australia for our world tour.
I know I said you guys should keep your ring finger empty, right? I'm sorry for making you do that. We love you guys, and we will always love you. You will be in a special part of my heart that no girl can access. However, she is also in my heart. I hope you will still love and support us.
However, the V-live went south when a few fans stated they are joining an anti-fan club.
Is that right? An anti-fan club? All right. If you guys want to hate me that's up to you. Suga Anti-fan club, right? Not a BTS anti-fan club. Don't attack the younger ones, you'll make them sad.
I'll still love her, even if you make such a club. I want to be happy. Don't you guys want us to be happy too? Do you really have to act like such kids right now? I would bet that a lot of you are dating someone or have dated someone. How is that fair?
We need to grow up soon, right? So grow up. Anti-fan? Whatever.
The views on the V-live decreased, but many fans stayed and praised Min Yoongi for standing up for his love and wanting to be happy. A lot of fans were telling the other fans off and reporting their accounts.
The fandom seems to be split.
. . . . .
Lilly:
Damn it, why did he have to anger them like that?
I rub my forehead as I look through the comments.
For the first time ever Allkpop seems to have finally got something right. The fandom really is split.
The article has been updated 3 times since it was first posted the day after my date with Yoongi. It's been a week and it has been a nightmare. I can't go out without fans recognising me and attacking me.
In the afternoon after the article was released, I was on my way home when 3 students recognised me and approached me:
"Yah! Are you the girl who bewitched our Min Yoongi?" A girl called out as I climbed out of the bus. They were standing at the bus stop in their uniform waiting for a different bus. They were wearing BTS merch on their bags and over their uniform. My heart stopped as I looked at each of them in turn. Should I say yes?
"Nope," I mumbled, pulling a mask over my mouth and turning to leave.
"Don't lie!" one of the girls yelled as she stomped over and roughly pulled me around.
"Yah, it really is her! Foreigners stand out too much," She sneered, "What do you think you're doing dating an idol with so many fans? Are you crazy? You can't take him from us!" The girls began surrounding me, the anger and betrayal in their eyes. One stepped forward and smacked me across the face. She had quite a strong hit for a high school kid.
The shock of such an attack left me reeling and angry.
"Yah! I'll have you for assault!" I screamed at them, pushing them all away easily. I didn't learn self-defence for no reason.
"Do you talk to Yoongi oppa like that? You evil bitch!"
Suddenly, one of the managers from Bighit arrived, saving me. They told them they could be banned from all BTS events if they continued, so they left me alone, glaring at me.
I shiver as I recall it. The fact that they were angered enough to attack me left me scared for my life.
Why did I have to fall for a kpop idol? Why?
A fan also somehow found my mobile number, sending me death threats and psychotic messages. I made the mistake of trying to reason with them by responding.
As I wait for Yoongi to come to pick me up from work, I scroll through them.
UNKNOWN: Hello you evil bitch
UNKNOWN: It's me, Suga Oppa's biggest fan.
UNKNOWN: If you don't leave Suga Oppa I will hunt you down and kill you.
LILLY: Who is this? How did you get this number?
UNKNOWN: It wasn't hard to find you and I won't tell you how I found you.
LILLY: Leave me alone.
UNKNOWN: Never. Not until you leave Suga Oppa.
UNKNOWN: What did you say to him? I just watched his V-Live! How dare you fill his head with lies? You don't know him! You don't love him!
LILLY: I didn't make him say those things. He said them on his own.
UNKNOWN: Don't lie! You're a liar! I'll kill you!
UNKNOWN: I know where you live.
LILLY: Sure you do kid.
UNKNOWN: I'm not a kid. I'm Suga Oppa's idea girl. I'm the right height and the right age.
LILLY: Right.
UNKNOWN: I'll find you!
LILLY: If you don't stop messaging me, I'll report you to the police.
UNKNOWN: Do it. I'm surprised you haven't done it yet.
LILLY: Fine, I'll just show Yoongi and he'll message you.
UNKNOWN: I'll kill you! I'll kill you! I'll really kill you!
I blocked the number as soon as the last message came through earlier. I called Yoongi in tears, and he consoled me. I spoke with Bang PD, and he gave me a week off work to wait for things to settle down. He only agreed after a fan found out I work at Bighit Entertainment and began sending in death threats. One fan was smart enough to send in chocolates with a note saying: 'I'm sorry the fans are like this, enjoy!'
Bang PD said not to eat them and hand them over to the police with the other death threats. Luckily, I did because the chocolates had rat poisoning in them.
Suddenly, a car pulls up. I tense, worried it's another fan, but as the window winds down I spot Yoongi sitting in the driver's seat.
"Come on," He smiles sadly. I jump up and open the door, grinning as I sit beside him.
"I was worried for a second there. This isn't your car," I note.
"I know," Yoongi smirks, "I borrowed it. I thought it would be better to have a different car they don't recognise,"
"Smart," I smirk. Yoongi sighs, leaning over to me.
"Before I start driving, give me a kiss," He smirks. I chuckle as I close the gap between us, giving him a small peck on his pouting lips.
"Yah," Yoongi admonishes, "Is that all?"
"Later," I grin, winking cheekily. Yoongi just smirks, turns to watch the road and begins driving.
All too soon we arrive at my apartment. Yoongi takes a moment to look at the building, watching for any unusual movement. He sighs and opens his door, coming around to open mine for me.
As I get out he pulls off his jacket and drapes it over my shoulders, putting a mask over my mouth.
"Be careful," He mumbles, his brow furrowed with worry. I do as he says, allowing him to take me up to my apartment. As soon as we enter, Yoongi rushes around peering into rooms and cupboards.
"Do you think they could break in the window? The door was locked and unaffected," I frown. Yoongi re-enters the room, glaring at me.
"You never know," He grumbles, "Never underestimate an angry fan,"
"If you were so worried about me getting hurt, why did you tell them those things?" I snap, folding my arms. Yoongi stares at me, completely taken aback by my anger. I probably shouldn't be taking this out on him, but seriously. He practically told them I'm more important than them and that they need to grow up. He shouldn't have said that.
"What things?' He asks.
"I saw in an article what you said during the live video you did yesterday," I storm into the kitchen, slamming my bag down, "You made them so angry. Some comments said they were fine with us dating but were angered by your words,"
Yoongi follows me into the kitchen, still shocked.
"Yah! This is the only way to get them to listen! They need to understand that no matter what they say I'll still choose you!"
"No, that's not the only way!" I spin around, furious that he's not understanding, "You made them feel abandoned!"
Yoongi scoffs, storming up to me. I automatically step back, giving us some distance to make myself feel more comfortable. His jaw jumps to attention, obviously offended I moved away.
"My intention wasn't to make them feel abandoned, it was to show them their actions are hurting me," Yoongi growls, "Should I be begging them on bended knee? Should I be pretending you're not important? A fling?" He spits out, his fists clenched.
I look down at his hands warily, but I quickly mask that. I cannot allow his anger to scare me.
Yoongi won't hurt me, we're just upset.
"Yes! You should be!" I turn and start preparing food for dinner.
Yoongi steps forward pulls the bowl from my hand and slams it down on the table. Then, he grabs my wrist and pulls me into him.
I gasp, unable to prevent the fear from entering my eyes. But Yoongi doesn't see it. He doesn't realise how he's making me feel.
"I'm not going to beg them. I'm a musician. I don't need to explain anything to them," Yoongi snaps, tightening his grip on my wrist, "I love them, they are very important to me. But I won't beg, I won't plead. I'll let the toxic ones go,"
"Yoongi," I mumble, pulling on my wrist, but Yoongi roughly pulls me again.
"Why are you taking your anger out on me? I'm trying so hard to make this work. Don't you love me? Do you still have him in your heart?"
Shocked, I pull with all my might, finally breaking free. I smack him across the face. He glares at the bench, his jaw still clenched.
"Don't... don't you dare!" I sob, tears falling down my face, "Don't you dare say that to me again! I'm not that type of girl!"
Yoongi glares up at me through the hair that fell over his face.
"I think I should leave," he murmurs. Before I can say anything, he grabs his phone, keys and heads to the door.
I make a small sound, causing him to turn and glare at me again. He is obviously very angry, and I don't want to force him to stay here whilst he's like this. But I don't want to be alone with all these death threats being sent my way.
"What, Lilly?" He asks, still glaring at me.
"I... can you..." I gulp, trying to ignore the burning shame rising on my cheeks from slapping him.
"If you have nothing to say, I'm going," He snaps. With one fluid motion, he opens the door and slams it shut.
I stare at the door, tears falling silently down my cheeks.
What have I done?
. . . . .
Yoongi:
What's wrong with her? I stand up for her and she treats me like this? I help her get home and she blames all this on me?
Yoongi slams his hand on the steering wheel, barely containing his anger.
"What did have to slap me for, huh?" he snaps aloud, glaring at the road in front of him, "Why is she blaming me?!"
Yoongi's tires squeal as he pulls into the parking lot at the apartment complex. He jumps out, slams the door, and saunters upstairs, still bitter about their first argument.
As he enters the apartment, he slams the door. Seokjin and Namjoon jump, staring up at him.
"Yah! What did you do that for?" Seokjin admonishes.
"Yoongi?" Namjoon murmurs, standing up and walking over to him, "Are you okay?"
Yoongi snaps, pulling his hat off his head and pegging it at the ground with all his might. Seokjin yells out, but Namjoon doesn't move.
"She... she slapped me... she yelled at me! She blamed me!" Yoongi blurts out, pacing the room with his fists clenched.
"Why, Yoongi?" Namjoon asks, still expressionless.
"She thinks I shouldn't have said what I said! She thinks all these death threats are from resentful fans and not crazy psycho ones!" Yoongi booms, stopping in front of Namjoon, "How was that wrong? She doesn't even know the industry! How could she even fathom what they think?"
"Yoongi," Yoongi spins around, spotting Jungkook standing in his doorway.
"Yoongi, she's right," Yoongi turns back to Namjoon, seething.
"You think she's right? Seriously?" Yoongi snaps, pushing Namjoon into the kitchen bench.
"YAH!" Jungkook, Taehyung, and Jin all call out. Taehyung and Jungkook pull Yoongi back as Seokjin rushes to see if Namjoon is okay.
Yoongi pulls from their grip, glaring at all of them.
"What about you guys? Do you think I was wrong?" He glares at them all, but they don't reply. Seokjin continues helping Namjoon, and Taehyung looks away. Jungkook stares back at him furiously but doesn't reply.
"Of course you're wrong, Yoongi," Yoongi spins around as Hoseok enters the room, smiling sadly.
"What did you say?" Yoongi growls, storming over to him. Jungkook holds him back, but Yoongi continues to tug.
"They're not just fans, Yoongi. They're much more than that," Hoseok mumbles, his serious face on. Yoongi feels slightly taken aback, continuing to listen.
"They made us who we are. They made all this possible. They are not fans, they are ARMY. They're important. What you did was encourage the fans to start fights and allow the other fans who were only slightly upset to feel anger. You made things worse, especially for Lilly,"
Yoongi frowns, wanting to ignore Hoseok's words, to rage and attack him. But the more reasonable part of his brain speaks, lulling him into the calm Hoseok is wanting.
Is he right?
Yoongi pulls from Jungkook's grip, walking over to his room. He looks over at Namjoon who is rubbing his back, grimacing.
"I'm sorry," Yoongi mumbles before entering the room, closing the door gently.
Hoseok smiles sadly, nodding to Namjoon. Everyone returns to what they were doing, Yoongi's anger hovering over them like a black cloud.
