Chapter 3- Connections

Back at school, after the incident during the museum trip, the three girls were very excited as well as confused.

"I guess we have no choice," sighed Alice.

"Huh?” asked a confused Leslie, “What do you mean?"

Alice replied, "It's obvious, isn't it? If Emma is a ninja she has to go to ninja school. And that means she can't stay here."

“And…what does that mean Alice?"

" It means I can't keep in touch as much," cut in Emma as she walked it.

"Hey Emma! How about we keep in touch with phones?” suggested Alice.

"Brilliant! You're a genius, Alice!"

"Thanks. I've heard that a lot."

"Okay then!" nodded Emma whipping out a notepad, "I guess you should write down your number."

“Alright,” she said taking the notepad and scribbling something on it. "Here: It's my cell. My home number is in the phonebook."

“Um... Emma?” Leslie lightly nudged her with her shoulder, "What will we tell Mrs. Janise?"

But Emma wasn't paying attention. She was looking at the window in shock.  Leslie didn't see anything wrong with it, but she asked,

"Umm... Emma? What's wrong?"

"I- isn't there- look!" she stammered.  Leslie sighed. She knew this wouldn't be easy. She looked at Alice and tried not to laugh.

But Emma looked deadly serious, like she saw danger. Suddenly, Leslie wasn't so sure if she was kidding. Her smile, just a few minutes ago, had morphed into a worried expression. What if Emma was seeing things? Or worse, what if she was right?
