Found
After looking around to be useful, Olive and I found no one, so we stopped.And actually went to go find Chiron.
When we got there, he looked deep in thought.
Walking in, I clear my throat. Chiron's head pops up at the noise.
"Oh Calypso, I was just about to go looking for you" He states while getting up.
"What did you need me for?" I ask.
"There is prophecy, involving you. The Gods think you can find Calypso, The Missing Goddess, you will journey out tomorrow with two others." He finishes as he walks away.
Great just great. Gods! Why is it always me?!?!?!
It is getting dark, I will talk to Olive about this so called quest/prophecy in the morning.
And of course, it will be at the crack of dawn, as Apollo forces the Apollo children to watch him as he crosses the sky.
~~~
After waking at the actual crack of dawn, I have decided to pick Remus, the saytr, and Olive as my quest mates.So like a normal sane Goddess, I go to tell Chiron.
I walk into the main building, where Chiron is pacing, "Ah Calypso," He says once he sees me. "Have you decided to take the quest?"
"Why yes, Chiron, I have. And I have picked my two quest mates as well. The saytr Remus, and Olive Reynolds."
"Yes, they are both brave, and have proved they are ready to take on a quest.You may take them."
"Thank you!"
As I rush to find Olive, I see my cabin leaning over a body.So of course I run over to see what is the matter.
The body it's..... Oliver.
I run. That's all there is to say. I can't stand the sight of bodies. It completely horrifies me, ever since the loss of my best friend, Charlie Robbins, a child of Hermes. He died due to injuries assumed in battle.Very tragic, even to look back now, the thought gives me chills. I think that is why I became a goddess, so I could not die.
Anyway, I quickly find Olive and Remus, inform them about the quest, and tell them we set off tomorrow, then I leave.
I walk right past Oliver's lifeless body, into my cabin, and start gathering my clothes and whatnot. I never really cared for him anyway, he was bound to die, the way he talked about the immortals.... it was bound to happen.
~~~
"Oh my Gods! I can't believe Oliver is dead!" Olive exclaimed.
"Yes, how unfortunate, he got attacked by a hell hound." I say, even to myself I sound bored.
"Yea- Wait how do you know how he died? Did you murder him?" Remus cries.
"I'm an Apollo kid. Plus I'm a...." I stop mid-sentence.
"You're a what exactly, Calypso?" Olive has a strange glint in her eye.
"A knowledgeable demigod." I cover it up. I mean I almost said I was a Goddess.
"Come on, we have to keep moving, we're going to fall behind on this quest." I change the subject and we keep moving. I mean we're almost to Nashville, where my father said to meet him. He's a good helper on quests, usually.
~~~
Now see, my father and I have always had a good relationship. So although, Artermis' and I's is stronger, my father is the only god who knows that I'm still me.
Nashville was my hometown. It's changed, since I've last been there back in 1915.
I haven't told the others about meeting Apollo in Tennessee. They'll find out soon enough.
I feel bad for Frazier, but the way he talked, he was bound to die. I do wonder who his Godly parent was though.
We walk into a small shop, one I used to be in all the time when I was younger. Where I find my father looking at a sun ornament. "Hello Calypso" Apollo greets, cheery as usual. "Apollo" I nod. I hear a "Father? Is that Calypso already?" And sigh, that's my brother, my twin actually."Hello Phillip" I reply coldly. As I am the legacy of Hera and Athena, patron of Poseidon, and heir of Artemis, my brother is patron of Apollo, and legacy of Ares, we've never gotten along as he always said I was favored by the family. Which I am, well besides Ares and Aphrodite.He has always been cocky and arrogant just like Ares, I have been more concealed, witty, loyal, and swift, like Artemis and Athena. Apollo has favored him a little more, and Artemis has favored me.
He was turned Immortal at eighteen, and I was turned at fifteen.
~~~
I really dislike my twin. He's honestly soooooooo annoying. He has sooooooo many side chicks, even thought he has a wife. The goddess of the soul, Psyche.
I truly felt remorse for my sister in-law.
I mean, a husband who cheats on you all the time?!?
It's not a life for me.
Which is honestly probably why I still haven't married.
Though I've only spoke to her once, Psyche seems like a morally good goddess.
"Father is it time to go?" Phillip asked dryly.
"Brother, you know it is not proper to ask to leave during a reunion " I chided.
He shoots me a glare, "Father, why did you agree to help her anyway? She's some reject! While I am a great war leader and husband."
"Excuse me? First, I'm not a reject! As I recall, the Gods chose me to be an immortal. You had to beg Ares. Second, haven't you lost every battle you've lead? And third, husband? I doubt Psyche could even call you that! You're never around and do you know how many demigod or immortal nieces and nephews I have? 3 immortal. 35 demigod. Yeah, it's safe to say you're not a great husband." I exclaim.
"Like you can talk. Last I checked you weren't married. As I recall, you were running through the forest, letting your hair loose, being careless, might I add. With those fine maidens of Artemis. I'm sure she won't mind if I steal one." He finished.
"I beg your pardon? They have taken an oath! A very serious one at tha-" I'm cut off as a bright silver light shines through the little cafe.
"Ah young Phillip, if I heard correctly, you were just thinking about getting cozy with one of my huntresses." She spits. "Don't think just because you're a God and my nephew, I won't smite you. Believe me, I will."
"And who might you be young one?" She turns to me.
"Calypso Hawkins, at your service m'lady." I bow.
"Hmm..who's your godly parent demigod?" She asks; already knowing the answer.
"Lord Apollo",I say as I rise.
She looks into my blue-ish/ gray-ish/ purple-ish, and gasps.
"M'lady? Is everything alright?" Olive speaks up.
"Y-yes everything is f-fine" She stutters. "If you don't mind, I need to speak to this demigod in private." She says.
"Ha! Probably trying to recruit her" Phillip scoffs.
"Walk with me young one." She says; shaken.
*****
"I can't believe it's you!" She exclaims; hugging me. "Do you know how long we searched?!? Do you know how worried we were?!? 25 years! 25, Calypso!" She said; hurt evident in her eyes.
"Auntie, you have to understand, Olympus is corrupt. You may not realize it, but it is. Sacrificing little children to do your dirty work. It's completely unacceptable and disgusting." I sum up.
"Little one, they have done that for centuries. They enjoy that, love." She continues walking.
"I don't know Luna.... I surely didn't" I say; using her nickname.
